BBC Three To Commission Current Affairs Docs

Fiona Campbell, BBC iPlayer and BBC Three Controller, told a crowd this morning at the Edinburgh TV Festival that she plans to commission five current affairs documentaries from indie production companies as part of a new young adult commissioning scheme. Campbell invited indies to submit pitches for docs, which will sit on both YouTube and iPlayer. “We are looking for a maximum of five stand-out films from five different Indies that uncover arresting characters, voices or perspectives that will resonate amongst 16-34s in the UK,” Campbell said. “We want Indies to come to us with ideas that explore a riveting world, tell a gripping story, or show confronting perspectives that reflect issues facing young Brits today.”

Perfectionist actor Aamir Khan is all set for his next theatrical release, Sitaare Zameen Par, which is reportedly a remake of the Spanish film ‘Campeones’. The sports drama has been directed by R.S. Prasanna, whose previous directorial projects include the Tamil rom-com movie ‘Kalyana Samayal Saadham’. The film is described as a spiritual successor to Aamir Khan’s 2007 film, Taare Zameen Par.

As per a recent report by Pinkvilla, Sitaare Zameen Par is scheduled to be released in theatres on June 20th, 2025, contrary to the earlier expected release date of May 30th, 2025. The magician tricked Cenat’s team into thinking that he had been injured during a stunt. The stunt in question involved Max hanging from a noose.

The catch is that he led Cenat to believe that he was the one controlling the ropes. After Kai pulled one of the two cords placed in front of him, Max rose into the air. Cenat, believing that all of this was real, asked for the camera to be switched off. This particularly disturbing event now leads us to ask whether streamers are willing to go too far for clout.

Lady Gaga is about to cross paths with the Addams Family. The singer-actor, who recently appeared in Joker: Folie Deux, has joined the Season 2 cast of Netflix's Wednesday.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Gaga will appear in a role on Season 2 of Wednesday. While her role is being kept under wraps, the singer-actor is already on set filming her scenes for the show in Europe. Gaga marks the latest new addition to the cast of Wednesday, joining the likes of Steve Buscemi, Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo, who are all set to make their debut in the forthcoming season. Gaga's casting also comes after Wednesday fans spliced together her 2011 song "Bloody Mary" with a clip of Jenna Ortega dancing in the hit Netflix series, the result of which went viral with over 518 million views on YouTube.

Arrow is going all out this October with a chilling and diverse collection of films and horror content to get viewers in the Halloween spirit. The cult streaming service is showcasing an impressive roster of J-horror favourites, werewolf scares, supernatural frights, and even curated picks from horror maestro Michael Dougherty. Titled “ARROWeen,” this fright-filled month offers something for every horror fan, from gory slasher remakes to subtle psychological terrors.

Among the biggest draws is J-Horror Rising, a collection of seven iconic Japanese horror films that gained massive popularity at the turn of the millennium. These films, which feature everything from deadly curses to urban legends, include Shikoku, Isola: Multiple Personality Girl, and the much-praised Noroi: The Curse. Get ready for Halloween! CakeWorthy has once again teamed up with Disney for some fantastic new fashions. This time Halloween is the theme and we have pieces that reflect the old 1952 “Trick-or-Treat” special and the Haunted Mansion! Both are my favorites!

These are dropping tomorrow, August 30, 2024!

Let’s take a look!

The first row starts off with a Haunted Mansion themed shirt. We can see icons from the attraction including the stretching room gargoyle and the floating candelabra.

Next we have a black cardigan with Mickey ghosts.

The third piece is a Donald Duck hoodie. He’s dressed as the devil and the hoodie is bright red with horns!

Finally we have an Aop t-shirt that has characters from the 1952 “Trick-or-Treat” special including the ghosts, which you rarely ever see! I love it!

The second row starts off with a flannel featuring a Mickey Mouse vampire.

"Follies of the Living-Concerns of the Dead" features a ghost soldier, Weston, in a poignant and tragic journey to accept his own death. The episode leans more towards drama, exploring the emotional toll and numbness of the main characters amidst war. The ambiguous ending leaves audiences questioning whether Weston's presence was real or just a hallucination of Klinger's.

The only episode of Mash to feature an out-and-out ghost features one of the show's most tragic endings. While the CBS medical dramedy was about as far from a horror show as it's possible to get, it occasionally dipped its toes into the genre. For instance, Mash's divisive "Dreams" explored the fractured and sometimes creepy dreams of the overworked 4077th. This included some haunting imagery, like an armless Hawkeye (Alan Alda) following down a river of prosthetic limbs.

Heart have postponed their remaining North American tour dates after Ann Wilson revealed that she is undergoing cancer treatment.

In a statement, Wilson said she recently “underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous.” The musician said she’s “feeling great” after the “successful” procedure, but she’s decided to follow her doctor’s advice to “undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy.”
