    Family plot.

Meristo and Evanella are a pair of so-called conjurers down on their luck ; they team up with Jean, whose uncle is coming to Paris and from whom he expects a hefty sum ; but the uncle believes he is a wealthy lawyer whereas he's a second-rate journalist ; so both conjurers will help their new friend to pull the wool over the rich person's eyes.

This is an enjoyable little comedy , with many funny lines , and good acting:Rellys is excellent as a clumsy magician, overtaken by events;Jacqueline Delubac , who would often work with Sacha Guitry ,portrays a false fortune-teller with aplomb ;thanks to her friends ,all her predictions come true ; Felix Oudart is a colorful uncle Amédée .The movie loses a little steam in the last third with the gangsters ' intervention, but the coming of four false monks in their lair , a disused monastery, makes up for it.
