"Mom, Dad! The baby can talk!" DreamWorks Animation has released a second full-length trailer for their next animated comedy, titled The Boss Baby, made by the same director as the Madagascar series and Mastermind. The first trailer introduced us to the "Boss Baby", an adorable baby voiced by Alec Baldwin who carries a briefcase and harbors a malicious desire to put an end to ever-so-cute Puppy Co. Other voices in this are Miles Bahski, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Tobey Maguire, and Steve Buscemi. This looks fun, and they're obviously selling the sibling rivalry and cuteness above all else, I just hope there's something more to this. Maybe the story of them becoming friends is the core emotion. Check it out below. Here's the second official trailer for DreamWorks Animation's The Boss Baby, direct from YouTube: You can still watch the first official trailer for The Boss Baby here, to...

Every December it bears repeating: Anyone who thinks this was a bad year for movies simply hasn’t seen enough. In an age of binge-viewing, a preponderance of must-see premium cable shows and, hell, even smartphone apps that command far more attention most feature-length achievements, the true range of quality cinema is often obscured by the noise of an ever-cluttered media landscape. To really assess the state of modern movies, one look beyond the obvious. Sure, it was a weak year for movies that stand out mainly due to star power and sizable marketing budgets, but those options represent only a small fraction of the marketplace.
The film festival circuit provides an ideal alternative to conventional channels for discovering movies worth talking about all year long — and, if they’re lucky enough to land distribution, they quality for year-end celebration on lists like this one. This year, every single finalist...

New York Comic Con has once again rushed by in a giant, fun, crazy blur, and although I didn’t get to nearly all the things I was hoping to, I did have a rockin’ time and see some really cool things I can share.
The first of these were a few great panels I landed seats for, including, as is my tradition, the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles panel. If you don’t know I love the current Tmnt, then what are you, new here? But seriously, I love it. And each panel I have gone to brings something new and different.
This panel (with Andrea Romano (voice director), Eric Bauza (Tiger Claw), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Shredder), Greg Cipes (Mikey), Rob Paulsen (Donnie), and Ciro Nieli (Executive Producer)) was particularly fun, because one of the things they did was a live read of episode #420, “The Super Shredder,” which...

"Fine, I can talk. Now let's see if you can listen." DreamWorks Animation has released the first teaser trailer for their next new comedy movie, titled The Boss Baby, from the director of the Madagascar series and Mastermind. Alec Baldwin voices the adorable little baby, seriously called just "Baby" in the film, who is a suit-wearing briefcase-carrying kid that teams up with his seven-year old brother to stop the dastardly plot of the CEO of Puppy Co. Other voices include Miles Bahski, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Tobey Maguire, and Steve Buscemi. This teaser makes it look like there is quite a bit of tension between the baby and his brother, but it seems like they'll probably end up friends by the end. What do you make of this? Here's the first official trailer for DreamWorks Animation's The Boss Baby, direct from YouTube: He wears a suit, speaks with the...

An all-out bird/pig war, a problem sorority, and the perfect old-school buddy film are headed to theatres this weekend! The Angry Birds Movie
You’ve played the app, and chances are, you've probably downloaded one of the sequels too (personally, I’m a fan of the Star Wars version). Now those fearless little flyers are coming to life on the big screen in The Angry Birds Movie! Not only do we finally get a little background story as to why these poor little birds are so angry, they now have voices! Not just grunts and screams! Real voices! Jason Sudeikis plays the permanently angry “Red,” Maya Rudolph steps in as anger management coach “Matilda,” and Josh Gad (you know him as Olaf in Frozen) gets all animated again as the hyperactive “Chuck.” Other voices to note: Blake Shelton plays a pig named Earl, Sean Penn lends his voice to the oversized “Terence,...

Trainspotting 2: First released in 1996, the brash British drug drama Trainspotting jump-started the careers of actor Ewan McGregor and director Danny Boyle. Now a sequel is finally on its way, with the original cast intact, including McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner and Robert Carlyle; Boyle will once again direct, based on a script by John Hodge, who wrote the original. Plans are to shoot the movie next spring, aiming for a theatrical release in 2017. Concord, N.H. -- Truman Capote's 1958 typed manuscript of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is rife with the author's handwritten edits – most notably changing the femme fatale's name from Connie Gustafson to the now-iconic Holly Golightly.
Its plot – built around a young woman who supports herself through trysts with various wealthy lovers – was controversial. Harper's Bazaar bought serialization rights for $2,000, then balked at its explicit content and profuse profanity. Esquire magazine purchased it from Harper's and launched it to its 1961 silver screen adaptation starring Audrey Hepburn.
The manuscript is being offered for sale by a New Hampshire auction house and is expected to net at least $250,000 later this month.
It is the centerpiece of hundreds of Hollywood-themed items offered by Rr Auctions in its online auction April 18-25. Other items include memorabilia autographed by James Dean, Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Judy Garland and Lucille Ball. Also offered is an...

In 1984, The Terminator was a relatively low budget ($6.5 million) action-adventure film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, hot off Conan and Linda Hamilton pre-Beauty and the Beast. Written by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd, it was a fun little science fiction film of a potential future that needed to be avoided. Things blew up and Arnold stoically told a cop and the audience, “I’ll be back.” No one knew at the time that the film would trigger such an enthusiastic response, giving us sequels, comics, novels, and a television series. Suddenly, SkyNet, John Conner, Sarah Conner and the Terminator T-800 model would become a part of the social fabric of pop culture. It also got Cameron sued by Harlan Ellison, who successfully argued that the story lifted a lot from the classic “Soldier” story penned for The Outer Limits. Little wonder then, that when Blu-ray discs started showing up, it...

Chicago – It’s incredibly easy to make jokes about the 3rd and 4th subpar films in the “Terminator Anthology” but that’s missing the point. Yes, the series goes downhill a bit after the amazing “T2” and slides even further in the pretty awful McG finale but collectors don’t care. This is a set, exclusive to Best Buy and the WB Online Shop, for true collectors, those of you who get excited for nifty packaging and the ability to hold a whole series in your hands. It’s a great box set even if not all four movies could correctly be called “great.”
Rating: 4.5/5.0
The first two undeniably could. James Cameron’s “The Terminator” and “T2: Judgment Day” are two of the most influential and entertaining sci-fi films of all time. They are timeless. “Rise of the Machines” has moments that work but it’s creatively a step down,...

Jennifer Baichwal is an accomplished Canadian filmmaker whose ever-searching documentaries have taken up such diverse subjects as photography (The True Meaning of Pictures: Shelby Lee Adams’ Appalachia), literary biography (Let It Come Down: The Life of Paul Bowles), the metaphysics of lightning strikes (Act of God), and the devastating underside of mass Western consumption (Manufactured Landscapes). In her latest film, Payback, loosely based on the prolific Booker Prize–winning author Margaret Atwood’s book-length study of debt as a structuring principle of life, language, and contemporary culture (the subtitle for her tome is The Shadow Side of Wealth), Baichwal investigates the disparate ways in which the idea of indebtedness has come to define everything from blood feuds to labor practices, prison terms to environmental clean-up efforts.

Antonio Banderas provides the voice for Puss in Boots again in this Shrek spin-off.
The animated Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots will hit theaters a week earlier than expected, DreamWorks Animation and Paramount have decided.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Puss will make his strutting 3D debut just before Halloween on October 28 instead of November 4. The film charts the Antonio Banderas-voiced character’s pre-Shrek adventures with distinct nods to Zorro. Banderas played that character in the 1998 film The Mask of Zorro with Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Other voices that will be heard in Puss in Boots include Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris.

Steve Carell has lent his acting skill when stopping by "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on Tuesday, July 26. Together with the show's host, he was featured in a sketch called "Other Voices" which was claimed to be a clip taken from Jimmy Fallon's former talk show which aired for only two weeks in Canada at 3 A.M.
Carell and Fallon appeared wearing strange turtlenecks as the host recalled "The Office" vet's appearance on his "last talk show". They opened their mouths as if they were talking, but it was other people's voices which came out. I haven't really been keeping up with the animated features that both Warner Brothers and Marvel have been churning out over the past few years, but clearly someone out there is buying them because they just keep on making them. One of the advantages of these direct-to-dvd comic book adaptations is that they can take their stories directly from specific comic book story arcs without having to cater to the whims of studio execs, secure in the fact that they are targeted at a niche audience. Indeed, one of the most recent Warner Premiere releases was All-Star Superman, based on Grant Morrison's award-winning re-invention of the Man of Steel. Next up we have an even more highly revered title: Frank Miller's Batman: Year One. In theory, an animated adaptation of this comic sounds like a great idea, but in reality, I have some doubts. Warner has continued their...

The Series:
I don’t know what baseball cap wearing little boy growing up in the mid-80s didn’t love Transformers, whether it was from the simply animated classic cartoon or all of the coolest damn toys ever from Hasbro, but if you didn’t, then you must’ve been a Ninja Turtle fan. Other voices include Salma Hayek as Kitty Softpaws, Billy Bob Thornton and Zach Galifianakis. This looks awesome! Hereafter (Warner Bros.) Clint Eastwood’s spiritual thriller follows a trio of characters whose seemingly disparate paths converge: Matt Damon as a blue collar Joe who tries to fight against his psychic powers that see “the other side,” Cecile de France as a journalist who somehow survives the tsunami that crushed Indonesia, and a London schoolboy (Frankie and George McLaren) who seeks answers after losing his twin brother. Like all of Eastwood’s films, the narrative construction is tight as a drum, with solid work by all involved. That said, “solid” would have to be the operative word to describe the proceedings here, as well as “unremarkable” and “uninvolving” on an emotional level. Perhaps we expect too much when we see Clint’s name on a film these days, but that’s the flip side of being one of the best. Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.

Yes, folks. It is no longer Romeo & Juliet. Touchstone Pictures has transformed the famous story into Gnomeo & Juliet, an animated family adventure film!
Directed by co-director of Shrek 2, Kelly Asbury takes part in this renovated outlook on the Shakespearean masterpiece. The film hosts classic popular songs by Sir Elton John. Meanwhile the voices of our hero and heroine, Gnomeo and Juliet, are by stars, James McAvoy and Emily Blunt. As we know the story, will the two find love among their feuding families? Or feuding neighbors should I say? Other voices for this movie will sound overly memorable to movie audiences such as Michael Caine, Julie Walters, Jason Statham, Jim Cummings, Maggie Smith, Patrick Stewart, Ashley Jensen, Ozzy Osbourne, Stephen Merchant, Matt Lucas and Richard Wilson.
Instead of swords and old Shakespearean tongue, viewers are shown a more inventive take on the tale. It definitely has the potential to be a cute family movie.

HollywoodNews.com:
As moviegoers wait for Leonardo DiCaprio’s “Inception” to hit theaters, Universal will keep family crowds sufficed with their 3D animated toon “Despicable Me” while Fox looks to re-energize its ‘80s franchise “Predators” sans Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Their biggest foe for the No. 1 spot at the B.O.? “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” as it heads into its sophomore frame.
Despicable Me
This Steve Carell-voiced comedy about a softie villain named Gru with the looks of Uncle Fester from the “Addams Family,” has already garnished positive reviews and upbeat word of month. The film was produced for only $69 million and is tracking to make over $30 million which is great for Universal which could use more hits this year after a slew of misfires such as “Green Zone” and “The Wolfman.”
“Despicable Me” follows Gru who is trying to reclaim his global image as the #1 villain by stealing the moon.

Editor's note: After this story was published, Quentin Tarantino's publicist told MTV News that the director is not involved with the "Smurfs" movie.
With a "Smurfs" movie coming together some 30-plus years after the franchise broke through here, names are coming fast and furious of who will be providing the voices of the iconic blue characters. We caught up with a "Smurfs" co-star who is decidedly taller than three apples high to get the scoop on his character.
"I'm Gutsy," Alan Cumming revealed when we spoke to him over the weekend at Elton John's Oscar viewing party. As best as we can tell, there was never a "Gutsy" on the 1981-89 cartoon series, which hooked millions of little kids on...

I've been seeing posters around for the upcoming Dreamworks animated 3-D film How to Train Your Dragon for a couple of months now, and I haven't once been inspired to seek out any additional information about it. I hadn't even watched the first teaser trailer that surfaced online back in September, but now that a longer trailer has arrived over at Yahoo! [1], I figured I might as well give it a shot. Directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders (Lilo & Stitch), the movie is about a young Viking named Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, who sets off to slay a dragon, and ends up befriending one instead. One thing that is kind of interesting is the fact that Jay Baruchel is voicing the main character and his dry, non-typical delivery seems to hold some promise. Other voices include Gerard Butler, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Craig Ferguson, Kristen Wiig, and America Ferrera.

He died in 1984, but had he lived the elfin author would be 85 years old today. Any self-respecting gay guy probably already knows the basics: He wrote Breakfast at Tiffany's, he wrote In Cold Blood, he was lifelong friends with Harper Lee. He conducted a lifelong public feud with Gore Vidal, he hosted the infamous Black & White Ball. Oh, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman won an Oscar playing him in the 2004 film, Capote.
After the break, 5 things you might not know about Truman Capote.
1. The author's photo that appeared on the back oh his first novel, Other Voices, Other Rooms (1947), arguably got more attention than the book. Many felt it was too suggestive (i.e. gay) and the controversy actually launched Capote as a public figure, rather than simply an author.
