Just found this series a few weeks ago on Roku. So what happened to the family? How can you leave us hanging? What fool closed this down? How can we go on this way? Oh so many questions

It is very difficult to find a program that the entire family can watch together on a Saturday night. This is more important now, than ever, with the Coronavirus keeping us closer to home making us unable to go to the theater like we all used to so we can watch a movie. Television really needs to step up with more family-oriented programs. We recently subscribed to Hallmark Movies Now. and I came across "Legacy." It' hard to go wrong with any Hallmark movie or TV series. This was made around 1998-1999. It's a good show, but there are only 18 episodes with no closure. It was discontinued right in the middle of everything. I realize that much time has passed, but you would think someone could come up with a few final episodes that bring it all up to date and then provide closure. This is a good family show and it had a lot of potential of going a lot longer. One word of advise if you do plan to provide final episodes, aside from the theme song, please find music more suitable to the times and environment that what the show currently provides. It just does not work. Thanks so much.

I admit it... I had never even seen this show before last week. From the previews last fall, it looked like its target audience was 10-15 year old girls who love nothing more than horses and attractive young men. Then UPN made a smart move and did "Legacy" Week during the Christmas to New Years holidays when every other station was showing reruns or hokey specials. So I decided to give it a try... Hey at the very least it DID have attractive (albeit young) men.
But you know what? This show is GOOD. It is completely underrated. It has great storylines, plots, and it's not wrapped up in that romantic notion of what being a horse-breeder or a farmer is all about. I was pleasantly surprised and by Wednesday found myself eager to get home from work so that I didn't miss the show...
The premise is a family in Lexington, Kentucky post civil war but pre-famous for the Derby. We have a widowed father; his two sons, one of which is trying his hand at tobacco; two daughters, one of which carries the burden of being lady of the house amidst her teenage hormones; an orphan who is trying to find his place in this family; and a host of other characters that intermingle with the family. The interpersonal relations are intriguing, the twists and turns unexpected, and the sense of wholeness that this one family exhudes is staggering.
I highly recommend this show... It's more than mere entertainment but it doesn't stoop to armchair psychology. It is a perfect balance of people interacting in their pre-technological environment.

Wonderful show! My family found this show on the Hallmark channel. We were so disappointed that it had only one season. There is so much garbage out there...and a wonderful show like Legacy gets cancelled....I don't get it.

I loved this series & binged watched it for two days only to find out there is no other seasons to give closure to the show. Excellent show for families, which we really need now a days, but then to just leave it hanging like this is just not acceptable. Please consider bringing the series back. It was an excellent show with a good plot & all of the actors were exceptional. I really enjoyed every episode but then to find out there was no ending was disturbing. Who can I contact on this? Would it be the network or the writers? How many others agree with this? I'd love to see this show continue.

I enjoyed watching this show when it was on and missed the last one so I never saw what happened with the new wife. It was a shame it was canceled. Initially, I never thought it would be as good as it was. I was surprised to see a cast of mostly unknown actors and actresses, but the acting was well done. The scenery was beautiful, gorgeous horses and of course,Loreena McKennit's title song "Mummer's Dance." I know I video taped most of the episodes, but I may have missed one or two. I was ready for a second season and was dismayed to see it didn't make the cut. Sure wish it would come out on DVD. Does anyone know if there are plans to bring it to DVD?

So disappointed and upset. Who cancels a show with no ending?! 18 episodes were great (altho a bit confusing...one episode has two of the major characters kissing/in love and next episode he's hitting on someone ekse...next episide the original 2 are back together. That's only one example). But to just end it and leave evryone hanging?! Ridiculous.

Hello, my name is Rosangela and I'm writing from Italy. Three week ago I saw the first episode from the tv serie "Legacy" and it was love at the first sight, but this morning I've discovered that the drama was cancelled more than one year ago! It's a pity 'cause it's one of the very few drama made well. If there's anyone who wants writing me i'll be really happy.
This is such a good homesome and family oriented show and they cancelled without closure. I saw one episode and binge watched every single one of them. They need to bring this show back maybe years passes and they can continue as there older and give flashbacks but it's a shame you start a show and not at least give the viewers closure. I hope whomever written these shows or episodes would consider bringing back a few more seasons. It would be fantastic to see where it goes. I hope some other station picks up and continues the series.
Hellooooo anyone please continue at least give us closure.

Good movie promoting family. No language, mild violence & no nudity. Only one bed scene & both are in historical under garments.

I stumbled upon this show only recently. I had the rare opportunity to do some binge watching - I watched all 18 episodes in 3 days. In 1998 I did not have much time to see any TV. I am at a loss as to why this show never continued. It should be revived. While it may be somewhat misleading on details (as a couple of other reviewers mentioned); I found it engaging, intriguing and entertaining. It is entertainment, not a historical documentary. It has certainly left me hanging. Please reconsider and revive this show. We need answers to all these storylines and I have no doubt the writers can come up with a few more.

Well, it's 2024 and all the characters are too old to get back on the set for closure. Therefore, I shall use my imagination to guess the expected outcome:-) First, pa figured out the woman he had married was wrong and wicked. Secondly, Jeremy married the Miss Logan and Sean Logan married the black woman which was the love of his life. The show I loved; the downfall of the show is when it took to dark of a path to bounce back. Pa lost it; and could not recover...These are my personal observations and assertions. What a lost opportunity for show business. Is it too late for a comeback maybe not.

I guess I should have checked how many seasons there were before I got drawn into the family life of the Logan's! But drawn in I was to the scenery, big homes and the genteel life of a Kentucky thoroughbred farm.
Others have commented on the fact that this type of programming is few and far between for families to enjoy together. I like the others had to continue the imagined outcome of all the individual stories that were getting close to culminating! I hope someone finds and reads these comments and realizes.... They ash canned Legacy before it was ready to be put down! We still want Chapter 2!!

When are TV and movie companies going to stop pronouncing Louisville incorrectly!! ? If you are going to make a show about KY then do your research!
The only show that I have ever seen that did things most correctly was Justified.
If you can't even pronounce Louisville like a Kentuckian then you aren't believable.
There are other inaccuracies about the show that make it unbelievable but I won't get into each one.
And NONE of the characters have a southern accent. Kentuckians have a very distinctive southern accent all their own.
The storyline of the show is good but the inaccuracies make it so unreal it is hard to watch.

Why did it end on season 1 episode 18 and not a season 2. It seems like it should go on to see if Ned gets a divorce from Charlotte Bennett when the boys found the real Charlotte Bennett there in a hospital. It cuts off at the party it would of been nice to see if Ned the dad knows the truth or not. Why did it cut the show out and didn't show at all these things, it just shows her riding a horse looking at the property she got from Ned? It don't make any sense Why the show was stopped at all. It should go on. I love this show I hope that the cast members know that they have done a good job acting.
It's not a bad show but could of been more detailed parts in the show but other wise what I see is not bad I should of knew more about this show I am a good reviewer to shows u use to do a lot of extra parts in movies and shows but over all 1 out of 10i give for the first and second part of the show 5.

Like the previous poster, I thought that this was a prettified version of the family Western made to appeal to the UPN/WB generation, which I did kinda fit into at the time age wise so I came to it late.
I regret not keeping up with it. The stories were pretty well written and balanced character wise and not everything was cliched. The different relationships took me a bit to keep straight but I figure if any one can follow "One Life to Live" you can follow anything.
I have only one episode that I accidentally taped and it was when one of the sons found out about the "wicked" stepmother to be and that she lied about who she really was and tried to tell it at Logan masked ball but was prevented. I never did find out if she got the ranch/farm away from the family. Every time I see it I go "Man! I'd give a plug nickel to know if she got hers in the end..."

Really liked this show after the first 2 episodes. Found it very interesting and was drawn in by the entire cast and plot. Unfortunately, episode 3 (Blood Relative) left me with a bad taste in my mouth. One particular scene involving one of the main characters and a mysterious woman, was highly inappropriate. I am very disappointed that a supposed "family" TV series included such a scene in the episode. Furthermore, there were a couple of unnecessary comments made concerning women earlier in the episode. I cannot recommend this TV series to any family, as I have not watched any episodes beyond this one. If you intend for a show to be "family-friendly", then please don't throw in adult situations into the mix. Truth be told, it's false advertising.
