Gene Simmons in Detroit Rock City (1999)

Trivia

Detroit Rock City

Edit
KISS re-enacted a 1970s-era concert with over 3,000 fans for the movie.
This was the first film to be released on DVD before VHS.
The film crew had considered editing the film down from an R rating down to a PG-13 but they then thought that it would have been disastrous.
Gene Simmons hand-picked Natasha Lyonne to play Christine.
Much of the memorabilia used in the film is from Gene Simmons' personal collection.

Cameo

Pamela Bowen: The first protesting mother outside the KISS concert, with brown curly hair and glasses. At the time, she was Paul Stanley's real-life wife. They divorced in 2001.
Jason Biggs: At approximately 15:01, wearing a red track suit and brown mullet.

Director Trademark

Adam Rifkin: [Blump's] Rifkin uses products and services using the Blump's name in each film. This first appeared in À plein tube! (1991) so as to not have any current-day products in the film (to impart a sense of timelessness). Numerous items in The Dark Backward were products of "Blump's Industries", which was invented for the film.
