Pan Indian mega-budget releases have become quite common in almost every regional movie industry, and Tollywood (the Telugu industry) has long since mastered this trade, evident from the massy entertainers from directors like S.S. Rajamouli. Telugu superstar Ntr Jr’s latest release, Devara Part 1, an action-adventure spectacle set in the coastal region of Southern India, carries the industry’s tradition of delivering potent masala movies. With the scope of such ventures growing wider and going global, an ensemble of talented actors across the country are assembled to appeal to regional audiences, and similar efforts are noticeable in Devara Part 1 as well. To be honest, the movie is a one-man show led by Ntr Jr, and aside from Saif Ali Khan as the prime antagonist, there wasn’t much for the supporting cast to do, but despite that, they played their parts convincingly to sustain the immersion.

Saturday’s episode of The Voice India opened in style with host Karan explaining the new format of the ‘Live Shows’ round. Each of the 7 members in the 4 teams would be performing solo and trying their best to entertain the audience and impress the judges. Team Hr and team Mika would be performing on Saturday and team Shaan and team Sunidhi contestants on Sunday.
Back to the studio and the contestants from all four teams entered onto the stage followed by the four coaches who together sang ‘Om Shanti Om’ from Karz. It was then time for the live shows to begin! But before that, the audience were re-introduced to ex Voice India contestant Meet Jain (Meet was sadly eliminated during the Battle rounds) as he was in the ‘red room’ where he would be seen interacting with the contestants and their families throughout the episode.

Week 4 of the popular new musical reality show The Voice India, continued with the fourth round of the Blind auditions. As the coaches aimed to fill up their remaining spaces in their teams, the competition to choose the best singers just got a whole lot tougher!
The first contestant of Saturday’s episode was Passang Doma Lama. Passang is 19 years old and she originates from Gangtok, Sikkim. Passang performed a lovely religious ‘Bhajan’ which pleasantly surprised the ‘fabulous four’ coaches, as the Bhajan also carried a number of classical traits. Coach Mika was the first to buzz, followed closely by coach Hr. Coaches Shaan and Sunidhi did not buzz this time. Passang chose to be in team Mika! The second contestant was Vishva Shah. Vishva is 25 years old and is from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Vishwa performed ‘Tu Hi Re’ from Bombay. Coach Shaan was the first to buzz, followed by coaches Mika and Sunidhi.

Saturday’s episode opened with hosts Manish and Ranvir sitting in a Sholay style motorbike singing ‘Ye Dosti, Hum Nahin Todenge’ from the film Sholay. The song ended and contestant Mouni proved to be a “distraction” for the boys and the audience were led to thinking they have had an accident. The next scene had two coffins and the judges and contestants were crying as if the hosts Manish and Ranvir are no more. But of course, they both turned up (much to the “disappointment of the judges/contestants!) and the show began as normal. Thankfully!
The first contestant who was safe from eliminations, was Sophie. It was great to see her out of the face-off and being the first contestant to perform on the show. Sophie and her choreographer Deepak, performed an aerial act and their chosen dance style was Aerial and Freestyle. Before Sophie’s act began, we...

These were just some of the questions audience members asked John Abraham when he was in London yesterday for an exclusive press conference for his maiden production Vicky Donor. Bollyspice went along to meet John in his new avatar and from the presentation he gave and the audiences response to him, we have to say John Abraham the producer has arrived in a big way!
Many of you will know by now that Vicky Donor is the first feature production from Ja Entertainment and stars popular Indian-vj Ayushmann Khurrana in a romantic comedy between a Punjabi boy and a Bengali girl, which touches on the issue of sperm donation. When production companies release news of future projects to come, fans and the media start spinning the wheel of speculation on who will direct and compose the music for the films. Of course, one of the biggest things that always gains the most attention is which actors and actresses will be chosen as the jodi for the film. For many fans it can be that pairing that will make or break any film more than the lack of script or direction. With Bollywood’s continuing affair with screen romance fans have been treated to some epic jodis like Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in Ddlj and more recently Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma, which proved to be the crutch of Patiala House. We also loved the jodi of newcomers Saqib Saleem & Saba Azad in Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge. While there have been many that have dazzled in the past,...
