Edit
Vincent Pastore, who plays Mikey De Batt, is introduced to Angelo Ruggiero, played by Johnny Williams. In Gotti (1996) Pastore plays Angelo Ruggiero. In Gotti (2018) De Batt is only mentioned, not seen.
A number of actors in this movie went on to play roles as Italian gangsters in The Sopranos.
Nicholas Turturro, Frank Vincent, Michael Imperioli and Debi Mazar all previously appeared together in Spike Lee's 1991 film Jungle Fever.
According to a 2001 interview with The Calgary Sun, Tom Sizemore credits Robert De Niro with turning his life around. During the filming of this film De Niro showed up on his doorstep with Tom's mother and told him they were there to drive him to jail or rehab. He chose rehab.
Frank Vincent previously played a member of the Gambino crime family Robert DiBernardo, who was murdered almost two months later after his character Frank DeCicco in the same year, on June 5 1986, in the 1996 HBO miniseries Gotti.
