The idea seemed “simple” enough. An episode of NCIS: Sydney in which DeShawn and Evie (played by Sean Sagar and Tuuli Narkle) go undercover at a pirate-themed wedding aboard the James Craig — a 19th-century sailing ship-turned-tour boat — to draw out a killer.

This week, Tori and Zach Roloff discussed a range of subjects on their Raising Heights podcast, and the dad of three threw out his thoughts about opening a restaurant. Interestingly, the Little People, Big World (Lpbw) star entertains some different ideas. Read on for more details.
From Toxic Food To A Restaurant
The TLC stars covered a wide range of topics. From broken washing machines to how bad food can change the behavior of kids, plenty of people could relate to the podcast. Each week, the comments section reflects that the Lpbw stars seem to find a lot of relevance that others can learn from.
Zach Roloff seems more comfortable on the podcast these days, and the flow seems good. But, when he started talking about his restaurant, some people thought maybe he should stick with raising the kids and building chicken coops with his son, Jackson. Then again, he...

In Ghosts season 4, Sam and Jay face a dilemma with their contractor, Mark, but one character could ease the tension. Before the sitcom series' return to network TV in 2025, Ghosts announced that Mark would have a substantial request regarding the silent partner of their Woodstone restaurant. Isaac is the covert funder for Jay's Indian-themed eatery, a development established in Ghosts season 3, episode 5, "The Silent Partner," when another investor backs out of funding Jay's restaurant.
Jay needs money to keep the restaurant progressing. After convincing Sam to split the money from the book advance for his biography, Isaac has the funds Jay needs. The Woodstone spirit claims the money is his, which baffles Jay, arguing that the ghost cannot spend it. Ultimately, Isaac and Jay compromise in season 3, agreeing that Isaac will fund Jay's restaurant as his silent partner. However, Isaac holds up construction in Ghosts season 4. Theater owners have been trying to use smell as a way to heighten the cinematic experience since before "talkies" came into existence, and from the late 1920s until the early 1960s, many attempts were made to add smell to the mix to make things more immersive and memorable for audiences. There was even a so-called "battle of the smellies" between multiple companies vying to dominate this niche market. One of the contenders, Smell-o-Vision, crashed and burned after 1960's mystery comedy "Scent of Mystery" didn't live up to its potential, and later, the technology was listed on a Time reader survey of the Top 100 Worst Ideas of the 20th Century.
Some filmmakers, like John Waters and Robert Rodriguez, have leaned into the smell idea, making movies where scratch-and-sniff cards were handed out to audiences as they entered the theater, and Regal's 4Dx system currently utilizes a smell component. But now,...

The Conners sometimes betrays the spirit of Roseanne, with lazy Gen Z stereotype subplots. The show's large cast mostly feels true to their old selves, with some episodes reminiscent of Roseanne's revival. Jackie's decision to give up The Lunchbox in season 6 was a sign of growth and maturity, and the show's focus on real-life working-class issues sets it apart from other sitcoms.
When The Conners season 6 ended one of the sitcom spinoffs longest running storylines, I was relieved to see this Roseanne call-back finally wrapped up. The Conners is a successful Roseanne followup, but the show sometimes betrays the spirit of its predecessor. I was disappointed when the spinoff focused subplots on Harriss entitlement, a lazy stereotype about members of Gen Z that betrayed its usual warm attitude toward its heroes. The Bear season 3's plot developments hint at a tragic ending for the restaurant. Carmy's ambitious plans and the restaurant's struggles may lead to its downfall. The restaurant's shutdown could offer characters like Sydney and Carmy a chance to move on and break generational trauma cycles.
Many The Bear season 3 plot developments have convinced me that the FX show will end with one tragic twist. Like its predecessors, The Bear season 3 creates the perfect balance of highs and lows. While the opening sequence, which walks through Carmy's past in Chef Terry's kitchen, left me smiling, the shutdown of Chef Terry's restaurant made me feel a sense of despair. Similarly, Carmy and Richie's fight made me increasingly concerned about their relationship's future, but Richie's reunion with Ever's restaurant's staff left me feeling uplifted.

After HBO aired two seasons of Winning Time, a series about the often-controversial glories of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s, FX responded with a series about Los Angeles' other pro basketball team.
That would be the Clippers, an organization that shares a building with the Lakers while offering all the dysfunction but none of the championship banners.
Rather than concentrating on past glories, the FX series Clipped has told the story of the 2014 scandal in which longtime owner Donald Sterling was banned for life from the NBA and forced to sell.
Clipped wrapped up on Tuesday, with the final chapter of Sterling as the team's owner.

Marking his tenth film, “Naked Nations – Tribe Hong Kong” is also Scud's swan song in filmmaking, with the fact actually being a central element of the narrative of this 161-minute mix of drama, making-of, documentary and self-hommage. At the same time, it can also be perceived as an act of defiance, while one of the central elements of the majority of Scud's films, male nudity is also quite prevalent here, although this time, his own too.

Be nice to waiters. That’s the first lesson of new four-part BBC One drama Boiling Point. Be nice to waiters not only because it’s nice to be nice, but because however calm and smiling they emerge from behind those flapping kitchen doors, inside blows a hurricane. Personal dramas and business pressures, dodgy colleagues, nightmare customers, shifts that end at midnight and leave you buzzing with adrenaline that needs to go somewhere… it’s the perfect cocktail for dysfunction and conflict. Handily, that in turn is the perfect cocktail for TV drama, as we know from rightly critically acclaimed US series The Bear (watch that and watch this too; there’s plenty of room for both.)
Boiling Point’s second lesson is just to let this creative team get on with it. Give them a second series with the full six episodes immediately, please, because they clearly know what they’re doing.

The trailer for OWN’s forthcoming docuseries, “Rebuilding Black Wall Street,” featuring host Morris Chestnut has been revealed.
Premiering on Sept. 29, the series will follow Chestnut and build teams, led by designers Jon Pierre and Mary Tjon-Joe-Pin (Two Steps Home), as they take viewers through Greenwood’s rich history and the personal journeys of those featured – many of whom are the descendants of original Black Wall Street residents – over the course of six episodes. As new businesses and projects progress, viewers will experience the physical and emotional challenges that come with large-scale construction and celebrate the promise of Greenwood’s future.

In this roundup from the Encore and Mumbrella Annual, we look back at the seven biggest advertising turkeys from the last 12 months.
1. Tip Top The One ‘Warren’
A man called Warren dressed as a loaf of bread bickers awkwardly with a mother and her child in a supermarket. This spot comes from Ddb the agency that not long ago rebranded Telstra.
2. Big W ‘Everyone’s a Winner Baby’
Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney’s first ad for Big W was, unsurprisingly, not press released. A bouncing blue blob made from Big W’s logo was the creative highlight. “Looks like it was put together in powerpoint,” suggested one Mumbrella reader.
3. Subway ‘Official Training Restaurant of Athletes’
Subway appeared to have blown its marketing budget on signing celebrities, with nothing else to spend on TV. Standing in front of a computer screen, snowboarding champ Torah Bright explained why the fast food was part of her training routine,...

Simon Denny Baker was born in Launceston, Tasmania on July 30, 1969. He is 5' 10". His parents, Barry and Elizabeth Baker moved to New Guinea in 1972. Shortly after, his parents divorced. His mother later re-married a butcher named Tom Denny and they lived in Sydney with his sister, Terri. Simon attended Ballina High School. After a time, his mother moved to New South Wales where Simon grew up. He did not know that Denny was not his real father's name. Being raised near the ocean developed his love for the sea and all things water-based, such as surfing and water polo. He recalled, "I didn't grow up with money, but I grew up with a lot of space...I was committed to the ocean." After graduating high school he returned to Sydney and intended to become a nurse, but didn't finish his degree. (Nurse Baker has a nice ring to it.) Thereafter he worked in menial jobs,...

Dear readers; today is the day that I walk across a stage and shake hands with Donna Shalala to signify that I have completed the coursework required to earn my Masters degree from the University of Miami. I won't be receiving the Actual degree for another few weeks, but there are so many places in life where appearances are what matter and according to my family who have come to Miami to watch those ten seconds happen, this is one of those times. Besides, fetching the mail is never a good excuse to buy a fancy new dress and shoes and send out announcements. In fact, this column will be posted right around the time my commencement ceremony wraps up, so if you're feeling generous please spare a thought for me and the difficult job search that's in my immediate future. Also, I really hope the world doesn't end on...

It's hard to believe that it took this long for me to finally sit down with Adrien Brody. I've been writing about his career since his first few films, and I remember seeing him in a film called "Restaurant" at a festival about a decade ago. Long time coming, and now that we've actually spoken, he's every bit as intelligent and confident about his craft as I expected him to be, and even before the cameras were turned on, he was engaging and cracking jokes, working to set me at ease. Still, if I'm finally going to interview him, it seems appropriate that...

It seems that the romance between Leighton Meester and her "Gossip Girl" co-star Sebastian Stan is getting serious. A friend of the couple claims both of them have planned to live together anytime soon. "They are really in love. They plan on moving in together soon," the pal tells New York Post's Page Six.
On Saturday afternoon, August 8, Leighton Meester and Sebastian Stan were caught enjoying some beverages at Day & Night Restaurant & Beach Club in Southampton. Leaving the venue, the lovebirds were seen heading to East Hampton to attend the premiere of the 25-year-old actor's new flick "Spread".
On drama-comedy "Gossip Girl", 23-year-old Meester stars as Blair Waldorf. Stan, in the meantime, has portrayed Carter Baizen on six episodes of the TV series from 2007 to 2009. The upcoming third season of the show is scheduled to be broadcast on September 14.
