10 Best Shojo Anime That Aren't Afraid to Get Real About Relationships
Image
For being often unfairly overlooked, the shojo anime demographic is one of the medium's most alluring and rich sides with its own unique set of subgenres and tropes. Most famously, shojo anime caters to romance enjoyers, its catalog of riveting love stories being thorough and prolific. Who Is The Best Waifu From Classic Anime?
Image
While there's plenty to love about modern anime, some classics still endure with audiences new and old. The characters tend to be the biggest jewel in a classic anime's crown. Many anime fans can date their first crushes back to amazing female anime characters from nostalgic series.

Classic anime, shonen especially, are understandably criticized for having shallow female characters prone to vampy or useless stereotypes. But there are some classic anime characters that are complex, beautiful, and likable to many audiences. Waifus are characters that anime fans love so much that they would marry them if they were a character in their world, and many classic characters set the standard high for waifus.
