Stern is funny, enlightening, and a gentleman in every sense of the word. A real class act worthy of the Emmy. I think I like him so much because he reminds me of my dad growing up. I am glad this show has now been moved to PBS where it belongs with other programs like MASTERPIECE THEATER. And if it hasn't I encourage you to write to your congressman and demand it. I am so tired of those filthy nature shows with the water buffalo mating. How can we show this trash to our kids? It makes it rather difficult for good Christian fundamentalists like myself to hide all sex away from our children until they are 35. Howard has made Jesus cool again.
The real story of how bozo bullied his way to the top of the trash heap has yet to be told...
This guy is very immature. He prank calls disabled or foreign people and laughs it off. I listened to this for about half an hour and thought it was stupid and childish. I did this when I was 13 years old, but not to foreign or disable people. I found it offensive and rude, and it does not set a good example for others. Youth will pick up on this. People who are different should be treated with respect. It is not easy being disabled or foreign. It is hard for disabled people to live a normal life and they struggle a lot. It is not funny to prey on other people and should find something else to talk about. It is not funny and should be left alone.
This show was your guilty pleasure. It got a bad rap. Still has a bad rap but the real people listen or watch this show. It's extravagant , crazy and it pushed the boundaries and went passed the boundaries many a time but with all of it's wildness there's beautiful moments, hilarious moments and heartbreaking moments interwoven into the show. Yes it began vulgar who cares. People like vulgar they are vulgar the reason people are interested is because Howard Stern says what the ordinary people feel and gets the overpayed celebrities to be more raw and honest than any other talk show host on TV. It's what this generation needs to an extent. It's what they want.
The crazy ideas for shows and contests they would come up with were completely off the wall crazy and there has never been anything else like it. They had a good mix of A and B list celebrities as guests, but also wack pack members made famous by the show. People with all different mental or physical disabilities that Howard would find a way to make extremely interesting and entertaining. They were made fun of just like everyone else, but it was all in good fun and they all loved being on the show. His celebrity interviews were the exact opposite of all other entertainment shows asking cookie cutter boring questions. Howard would ask them wild things to test their limits and sense of humor. Put them on the spot and occasionally make them uncomfortable. You would learn way more about the person with this style interview and was more entertaining by a massive degree.
He also made all the people that worked on the show a big part of the show. What was going on in their personal lives, who they were dating, details about their love lives.
He would also air any problems or complaints with staff members and make full entertaining shows out of that.
Any fan of the show would care more about the sound engineer, makeup artist, producer, etc. Than any random celebrity. He made stars out of every person that worked on the show. It was the best cable TV show in history.
