Inconsistant but has a sweet end theme

I'm not too sure why keep giving Lupin the Third a try but it is what it is. Maybe because of it's lasting impact on anime (I mean i don't think we would have Cowboy Bebop if not for Lupin so thanks a ton for that Lupin) also Miyazaki showed all of us how good a Lupin the third story can be if handled appropriately. This iteration of Lupin had it's pros. The first 20 episodes or so were actually pretty good. The storylines were more mature and the slapstick and ridiculous action sequences were not so cartoonish and over the top as in lagter episodes.

As the series progresses the animation and storylines become more inconsistent. Some episodes are just drawn badly it looks like a rush job or idk something happened. But when the animators are taking their time it looks prettty good direction and all. I am one of the few who actually dig the color scheme of this version of Lupin although a fan of how Jigen looks. His hair is too poofy. It dont look right. Jigen is still a cool cat and fujiko is much more well-rounded as a character not just this devious vixen as she is usually portrayed.

If you're a fan of the series. I would say give this a try, if not just watch the first few episodes.

Less worthier than the other series, but still Lupin.

This was known as the least favorite series of the Lupin franchise. Not only was it known as the 3rd Lupin TV series. But it also got the nickname of it being the "Pink Jacket series" because of Lupin wearing a pink jacket, instead of traditional green or common red.

Unlike the first other 2 TV series. Which were both admired by the fans. This one focuses more on slap stick humor rather than smart humor. Contains the same actors who portray their trademark roles. And directed by the same dude who did the third movie. See my review on that one for further detail.

I only seen a few episodes of this anime. But I can assure to not expect it to be an all great anime. And it's not a high recommendation for those who want to know more about Lupin. This one is a weak example of how great Lupin the 3rd really is.

But it's a good thing that there'll never be another pink jacket related Lupin anime anytime soon.

the same thing as in the second series

So this is the third series of Lupine from the 3 classic series, this one They say it's really the worst No I say that for me it was worse than the second because I put a lot of useless things in it like the episode which aren't funny at all But this isn't it means that this series is notIt's really very beautiful, it's a place that I can also make okay. But I'll tell you why this one has never been much appreciated because of the terrible animation. Because the drawings are really very bad, especially the error in the character drawings. But I can help you. Tell you why of the othersversions of Lupine all had the appearance of the previous series Beppe that now for the moment this third series is no longer considered Canonical for this reason because in the films the characters all have the appearance of the second series but for me it doesn't mean that all the episodes are badsome can watch you and I'll tell you that the next review Now I'll do some Lupine III films I've only told you a few since I don't really know all of them But soon they'll do the review to conclude the rating 6.

A continuation with a different style, now with a pink jacket...

This is the third part in the famous animated series of Lupin the third created by Monkey Punch. The first part of course, is considered as they best one, which contains a more strategic plot and focuses more on the escapes of Lupin. The second part in the series on the other hand, was the most successful one, consisting of a Lupin with a red jacket. In the previous one, Lupin had a greenish blue jacket. For the second part, 150 episodes were created and they focused immensely on the adventures of Lupin, which were accompanied with great humor. The third part in the series, on the other hand, appears to be quiet different - especially in the drawings. Lupin has a different look, a larger face with a more caricature look. His jacket is pink and it seems that the drawings are exaggerated to some extent. A possible explanation could be to make the show funnier and in one way it had succeeded. I don't quiet remember this series because i watched a long time ago, but i would have to conclude that it was the weakest in comparison to the previous two. Nevertheless, it consists of great fun and lot of Lupin adventures and i definitively conclude that it's worth watching. *** out of ****

    Mediocre.

Third Lupin television series, as well as the second in terms of number of episodes, fifty.

This time our protagonist shows up with a flashy pink jacket and a style of drawings that is very different from the previous series.

After Lupin in the red jacket, the producers decided to make an attempt to renew the character, which although appreciable, did not end in the best way.

The third series of Lupin is remembered by fans as one of the least loved and best of the franchise and personally I am of the same opinion, for various reasons.

The series starts well, the new designs are interesting, the pink jacket is very beautiful and Lupin's adventures have a new and fresh spirit.

Nude scenes are often present and this adds a more adult and sexy touch to the series.

With a start like this, the premises were excellent and I was starting to believe that all the criticisms about this third series were unfounded, but I was wrong... Almost all the positive sides listed above disappear after less than ten episodes. The series begins to seem "affected by a degenerative disease", which episode after episode gradually worsens the drawings, characters and plot.

In my opinion, the drawings, for 80% of the series, are really ugly, crooked and poorly detailed. They almost seem more like caricatures of the various characters.

The characters are completely distorted and ruined. Lupin will almost become more "Robin Hood" rather than a thief. And we will practically never see him do anything bad.

The episodes will become increasingly childish and less engaging, with silly plots more suitable for children. We will almost never see anyone die and the nude scenes disappear completely.

All the good work done in the first ten episodes is completely destroyed to offer a product of poor quality, uninspired and in contradiction with the character of Lupin himself.

If you want, watch it and judge by yourself, but I doubt you will be too satisfied. Except for the first episodes, it doesn't have many positive sides and the flop of this series meant that no others were produced until 2012.

Last two things: the Japanese theme song is really very catchy and I personally find the pink jacket very beautiful (aesthetically).

    Good vision.

    • Trivia
Lupin prominently wears a pink jacket throughout the show. Thus this series is known as the "Pink Jacket" series to fans.
    • Crazy credits
The series title first appears in the opening as five Lupin dolls, who each form a letter of Lupin's name (one of which Zenigata mistakenly handcuffs). Later, the title appears again with each character looking in through a letter (L-Lupin, U-Jigen, P-Goemon, I-Fujiko, N-Zenigata), and right afterwards the Japanese title appears.
