Originally the series was planned to have five seasons of total 60 episodes, however after fourth season, YLE TV2 decided to cut the budget and as the creators did not want to make shorter last season, the series end "prematurely". A novel named "Ei muuta kunniaa" (no other glory) was released in 2004 that told the events planned for the fifth season of "Hovimäki" TV-series.
