10 Romance Anime for Fans of This Iconic '90s Anime Couple
Image
Sailor Moon set the standard for magical girl, shojo, and romance anime. It follows Sailor Moon's love story with Tuxedo Mask in their current lives, and in their past lives as princess of the Moon Kingdom and prince of Earth. They have a swoon-worthy story, where they meet as their celestial alter egos, and they immediately feel a pull toward one another.

Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask have a bit of a tsundere dynamic in the '90s anime adaptation, and tsundere romances will always be popular in romance anime. After the first story arc, their romance becomes more nuanced. Their romance is so iconic that it popularized certain character tropes and inspired elements of future romance anime.

Best Anime For Fans of Vampires
Image
Japanese anime and manga often feature fiendish, blood-sucking vampire characters as dark antiheroes or terrifying villains, while others portray vampires as charming, surprisingly relatable and likable people, including cute vampire girls here and there. Vampires are more popular than ever in media, and anyone who loves stories about the occult or the supernatural are encouraged to try a handful of great vampire anime series.

While the powers, weaknesses, and origin myth/stories of vampires can change over the years according to each creator, vampires are always instantly recognizable as fanged children of the night, and anime fans can't get enough of them. In anime, there's plenty of room for reinterpretation of vampires or even desconstructions of them, from half-vampire antiheroes to vampires who have more in common with high school students than with the likes of Dracula and Nosferatu.

10 Most Honorable Anime Vampires, Ranked
Image
Vampires may be one of the most popular supernatural creatures in horror and anime in general, but they're not known for their noble nature. Many are immortal and their strength plus the endless years passing tends to make them apathetic, even misanthropic. Eternity and watching generations pass may fascinate and humble some, but others find it monotonous, and it brings out the worst in them.

Historically in storytelling, a vampire's urges aren't easy to control, either. But there are some vampires who see eons pass, and it encourages them to choose compassion and take a protective stance toward humanity. Though their bloodlust limits their relationships often, they prioritize honor.

These Classic Romance Anime Need Remakes Asap
Image
Many classic romance anime titles still hold up today. Some vintage titles are hidden gems that may have a devoted cult following but have slipped through the cracks and haven't gained a larger modern audience. Titles like Vampire Princess Miyu are out of print, so fans will struggle to revisit the manga in its entirety, as well.

Remaking classic shows may renew interest in their source material and garner a new audience who will enjoy the timeless couples and romance tropes. Revisiting older titles also gives creators a chance to produce adaptations that are close to the source material. Reboots like the new Fruits Basket and Sailor Moon Crystal prove that even popular classics can be redone with more justice given to the original manga events.

10 Anime Remakes As Good As (Or Better Than) The Original
Image
There are many reasons a classic anime will get remade. Sometimes, it's to incorporate new mediums, like sleek computer graphics to complement the animation, and sometimes, it's to hopefully attract a new audience. Some anime worlds and characters are so beloved through generations that it makes sense to release more content.

Manga lovers always appreciate an anime adaptation that keeps close to the source material. Lately, there have been rereleases of classic titles that are even more faithful to the amazing manga source material. Remaking an anime gives creators a chance not just to incorporate more of the manga but also to help keep up with the mores of the time, cutting outdated filler episodes and properly reincorporating previously censored characters.
