The USA VHS tape was colored red instead of the usual black.
Alberta Watson, who plays the pregnant wife of Henry Czerny's character, was working on the show Nikita (1997) at the time. and earned 10,000 to 30,000 dollars per episode. She was eager on making this movie, and so when she started shooting her parts for it in October 1997, she was written out of a couple of Nikita episodes to accommodate the shooting schedule. She remembered in 1998, "as soon as I knew Henry Czerny was involved, I said I'd love to work with him."
It first aired on CTV in Canada, and was slated to later have an international theatrical release, but this never eventuated.
