The Daedalus Encounter

8/10

Freaky Aliens in Space after a Galactic War. You as a brain in a computer.

Deadalus Encounter was included in a games-package for the Performa5200, my first computer. After some problems with the installation, the nice graphic intro astonished me. I was pretty curious and then I lost myself in space. After hours of great fun I came to a level I didn't manage to solve. Until now, I still don't no what's coming next... Great fun to play. Try it. Tia Carrere makes it worth, too.

The Daedalus Encounter is an ambitious game that combines FMV with puzzle-heavy gameplay and, at times, more freedom & exploration than most other FMV titles.

Whilst looking for valuable cargo, coming across an unknown ship that's heading for the Sun can only mean one thing: it's The Daedalus Encounter!

A great action packed game!

This game is like a movie but you need to make the right decisions for the ending. I recommend you buy this game if you like shooting stuff. Even though there are some boring parts, there is a least a funny scene or two. I give it 7 out of 10.

Great Game!

This game is awesome, it has 2 great actors, nice comedy, a good plot, and smooth FMV. The 3DO version is better than the PC version from what I hear (I've only played the 3DO version) The PC version is supposed have a smaller screen ratio than the 3DO so I would suggest playing it on 3DO first, especially since it has more than one good FMV Games (Live Action Video, games with actors) If you do, however, buy a 3DO, try this game and Psychic Detective.

An Assorted Puzzle Pack

For a starter, you may be misguided to believe from the outset that this is a "shoot-the-bad-aliens" Sci-fi game. This is not. Rather, this is an assorted puzzle package in which you are asked to solve in outer space ("Why?" I wonder). Further, this, as others also pointed out, is more of an interactive movie than a game: that is to say, you are sitting in front of your monitor listening to the characters chatting around, and you ask yourself, "Is there anything I should do?". The answer, "No, just wait until the next puzzle comes up." And you will be waiting for a long time. When you notice you missed something in the previous scenes, you don't want to go back because there's too much to wait. Finally, there are a lot of bugs, I suspect (I played it with my Mac G4). Saving games (and loading them) with all the precious "points" for one. In some scenes, you find that your mouse's sensitivity is just not good enough for the game (I spent all day trying to get Zack out of his fall-Blue Hall). Some web sites provide you with "cheats", but not all are accurate or helpful. You might as well do it yourself. The good side: The graphics were not that bad. The plot was to some extent original, Tia ... you'll enjoy if you are her great fan. Oh, and a question to whoever knows a lot about this game; RE: Blue Hall (the Hologram chamber) I cannot get to send the code to the statue after solving the "orbit puzzle". The statue is holding a "orb" >which I suspect, I am supposed to collect. (to be honest, I read the "cheat" that I should do so). Can anyone tell me how to get this one? My rating for this game is 3 out of 5.
