This film shows how backward villages in India are

The film based on casts Sunny Dell is from a higher cast, and Poonam Dhillon from a lower caste. In the end of the movie Poonam Dhillon has to walk naked round the village, because of a silly superstition that if a virgin woman walks naked they will have rain in the village, because they had been a drought in the village.

A saga of Strong love story fighting with the odds and myths of the society.

A nicely woven story line with impressive acting by Sunny Deol, Poonam Dhillon, Bindu & Prem Chopra. Innocent & strong love & Hostile society (typical Hindi film love story) but with a heart touching element. Particularly scenes- where Sunny is forced to adopt his ancestors traditional work & his willful refusal, Bindus helplessness to protect her younger sister & Prem Chpra's well known filmy "Kaminapan" are remarkable parts of the film. Sunny has played the role of a dashing, dynamic and angry young man who belongs to backward society and falls in love with a beautiful village girl. His revolting nature makes most of the powerful and crooked villagers against him. He is being forced to leave the village and the heroine is left alone in the village to face the tortures by every one. His Brother in law (Husband of her elder sister) has a ill intention towards her and makes every effort to get her. The heroine's unique method to communicate with his lover is the writing messages with chalk on the walls of the wagons of the goods train and the same is read by hero residing in the town and replies in the same matter. During the crucial stage of deciding the fate of her life she sends an urgent message to the hero but unfortunately rainwater washes the message. A very good & healthy piece of cinema amongst the other action/violent/sex movie of that period.

A beautiful romantic film that brings back memories of India.

This is Sunny Deol's best film for me. The songs in this film are legendary. The background musical theme is inspiring.

The theme of this film is the romance between the two principal characters in the film Ravidas and Jyoti. Also this film exposes the all too familiar tribal law issues in the rural villages of India.

Plot: Ravidas (Sunny Deol) lives in a village in rural India. He is the son of Chediram (Dr. Shreeram Lagoo) who is highly respected in the village. Ravidas falls in love with Jyoti (as Poonam Dhillon). Their love becomes known in the village. Because of differences caste, the villagers cannot allow Ravidas to marry Jyoti. Chediram commits suicide due to the shame his son has brought upon him.

Ravidas is a gifted poet, but he cannot fulfill his dream of being recognized as a great poet his poems being published and shown to the world because he lives in a village. So he decides to go to the city to fulfill his dreams and to eventually marry Jyoti.

In the city he recovers the purse of a young lady from a thief. The young lady turns out to be the daughter of a big newspaper publisher. The newspaper publisher hears of Ravidas's talent for poetry through his daughter. He publishes some of Ravidas's poems in a column in his newspaper. Ravidas starts becoming famous and his dream is fulfilled.

He communicates to Jyoti by writing on the side of the morning express train, hence the title of the film Saveray Wali Gaadi. Jyoti reads these message each morning hoping for the day when Ravidas will return and take her away with him.

Will Ravidas return to Jyoti? Or will he forget her?

Watch the film to find out.

A must have for all lovers of romantic films. Buy it on DVD now!
