Actor Jack Quaid was recently asked what his ideal role would be while participating in a Reddit Ama t to promote his newly released action-comedy flick, Novocaine.
Interestingly enough, Quad revealed that he wants to star in a BioShock movie, as that's his favorite game. Perhaps the timing of this reveal is not so coincidental as Netflix is currently working on just that.
"I would actually love to be in a live action adaptation of Bioshock - one of my favorite games of all time. I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."
"I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take. I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."

I love a movie where the main character, with Meg Ryan’s eyes and Dennis Quaid’s jawline, prepares for a fight by punching his already bloody and battered fists into a shattered pile of glass to prove a point. Not only does Novocaine want to pull the viewer through the unthinkable, but it drags the viewer in on a enthralling ride that refuses to let up.
Novocaine pushes the envelope with its gallows humor. Tell me you don’t wince in pain watching bits of glass in Jack Quaid’s knuckles while laughing hysterically every step of the way. It’s a pure shot of hilarious adrenaline that never lets up because all it wants to do is put our hero through the wringer—sometimes literally—ratcheting up a relentless amount of tension and laughs.

From Ghostface to a paranormal DJ? Deadline reports that the filmmaking team known as Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) are teaming up with Paul Giamatti for a biopic about the late Art Bell. Best known as the founder and original host of Coast to Coast Am, Bell would field unscreened calls from all sorts of people, listening to stories of alien abduction, conspiracy theories, strange creatures, and just about everything you could imagine.
According to Deadline, several studios, including Universal, Amazon, and Warner Bros., are bidding on the Art Bell biopic. Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves are writing the script. This is a bit of a different project from the team that has given us Ready or Not, Abigail, and two Scream movies, but it has the potential to be quite interesting. Plus, I could watch Paul Giamatti do just about anything.

Every Star Trek series needs a trusty doctor, and Star Trek: Lower Decks has Chief Medical Officer T'Ana to keep its crew healthy. T'Ana is a Caitian who may seem gruff and surly at first glance, but genuinely cares about her crewmates -- especially her lover Shaxs. And as wacky Lower Decks can get, it's that sincerity within the USS Cerritos crew, including T'Ana, that gives the show its immense heart.
In an interview with Cbr, Star Trek: Lower Decks actor Gillian Vigman reflects on playing T'Ana across the show's five seasons. She shares what her favorite moments in the series are. Plus, she explains how she developed her fan-favorite role as the Cerritos' crusty physician.
Cbr: Gillian, was there anything in the sides and character description or speaking with Lower Decks showrunner Mike McMahan that helped unlock the character of Doctor T'Ana for you?

Michael Weatherly swapped his NCIS badge for courtroom drama, a CBS legal hit inspired by Dr. Phil’s life. And oh, what a leap it was—reportedly earning him a jaw-dropping $300K per episode. Talk about trading one cash cow for another! Weatherly’s big payday came with high expectations, and for six seasons, he delivered steady buzz.

The following contains light spoilers for Frasier Season 2, now streaming on Paramount+.
I don't like sitcoms -- because most of them don't make me laugh. Their jokes aren't funny, their characters are too broadly drawn, their stories are predictable and I find laugh tracks to be both annoying and vaguely insulting. The only sitcoms I've loved in the last few decades are Sports Night (which wasn't a traditional sitcom), a Bravo series called Significant Others (that was almost totally improv), NewsRadio and Wings.
The folks who created Wings -- the late David Angell, Peter Casey and David Lee -- also created Frasier. And roughly 20 years after the last episode, the Frasier revival on Paramount+ is something of a unicorn. It retains the coziness and structure of a traditional half-hour comedy, but it isn't beholden to the format. It has a wonderful depth of character and storylines that justifies doing a revival in the first place.

John C. Reilly and Johnny Flynn look contemplative in this first look image from “A Prayer for the Dying,” the survival thriller now in production outside Bratislava, Slovakia.
Anton and New Europe Films are co-repping worldwide rights on the film, and are continuing sales at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.
“A Prayer for the Dying” is written and directed by Dara Van Dusen and based on the novel by Stewart O’Nan. It takes place in 1870 in Friendship, Wisconsin, a small town of Scandinavian settlers still suffering the repercussion of the recent Civil War. When faced with a new and even deadlier threat, one man is forced to make a harrowing choice: save his young family or defend the community that gave him a second chance at life and meaning. Flynn will play Jacob Hansen, the sheriff responsible for the safety of the town, while Reilly will play the local doctor.

“Barons,” a surf and business drama series that plays this week at Series Mania, is a calling card for the newly re-structured Australian operations of TV giant Fremantle.
In recent weeks, leadership of the unscripted side of the business has been put in the hands of Eureka, a company in which it bought an increased shareholding last year. That leaves the remainder, under the management of Greg Woods, focused on high end drama and documentaries.
Insiders have called the new emphasis on premium drama and big factual pieces a new chapter for the company.
Other upcoming shows include the recently wrapped “Heartbreak High” for Netflix, “Significant Others” for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and “Jump” for local streamer Stan.
“These guys with very humble origins, in this tin pot town in Australia, become like Cain and Abel. They’re kind of friends and rivals. That works as a kind of ceiling.
