The WormKillers' Last Spring

1 review
9/10

Move over BIG CHILL!

I've never been one to say that great films should learn a thing or two from other films, however, the one element I never got into with the 'Big Chill,' was the glossy-ness of the scenes, the direction, and the filming itself. Kasdan obviously had star-filled cast, unlike 'Wormkiller,' but this film had more realistic ebbs and flows than most friendship films I've ever seen. Dempsey does a tremendous job of writing and directing in this mini-Chill styled pic, and he doesn't let the leads take themselves too seriously. The one negative comment I would have to make, is that I would have loved to seen more of the women get involved, and get involved more. The 'Wormkillers,' is simple film about real people meeting the end of their road together. It's the type of movie that appeals to the memories of our youth.
