The Wave

I've seen some interpretations of this film that frame it as being about mortality and transience, but I'm inclined to view it more broadly. To me, it also carries a strong theme of humanity's evolution-physical, cultural, and spiritual. As in some of Sabin Balasa's other painting animations, we see the growth of a baby into a young man. Then, a woman is introduced-first as a Venus figurine, which morphs into a living woman and finally into a cosmic being. Other elements in the film reinforce its spiritual and religious dimension, including references to the biblical stories of Adam and Eve as well as David and Goliath. There's also a clear nod to Auguste Rodin's The Thinker, tying the work back to the cultural and artistic development of our society. And so on.

the ages of man

I suppose, my favorit short animation by Sabin Balasa. For clear - precise- inspired story, for the boy at window and discover of reality , for she - dream and object of desire, for passing time and the death and the form of imortality.

A short film reflecting, in admirable simple terms, joys, expectations, wishes and the end.

Inspired music and wise definition of life.

Difficult to expect more and to not see it as a story about yourself.

The main virtue - I think the little boy walking to window and the bust covered by plant.

Sure, maybe too simple to simplistic. But honest crafted and nice memonto mori.
