We’re only a few weeks away from the epic return of one of Netflix’s bingeworthy fantasy dramas, and there’s even more exciting news for ever-devoted fans. The Sandman premieres its second and final season next month, with the episodes released in two batchesas previously announced. However, that will not be all as TVLine has learned of a “bonus” episode which will be centered on Dream’s sister, Death, portrayed by Kirby Howell-Baptiste.

Divided into two parts, Season 2 of The Sandman will release its first volume, comprising six episodes, on Thursday, July 3 and Volume 2, which will consist of five episodes, on Thursday, July 24. The last episode of Volume 2 will conclude the story of Dream, played by Tom Sturridge. I really like Neil Gaiman's comic book series and enjoyed the first season of the show, about an eternal being named Dream (Tom Sturridge) who presides over the realm we all visit when we go to sleep. There's a ton of comic book left, but this second season will squeeze the rest of the story into 12 episodes, which is surely disappointing for many fans.

So far as we can tell, the show is being cut short because it's not popular enough to justify the expense, which makes sense in an era when all the streaming services are tightening their belts. Surprise! In announcing titles for the 11 episodes from the second and final season of The Sandman, the Netflix fantasy series revealed a bonus standalone episode. It will be released after the previously set drops of Volume 1 (Episodes 1-6) on July 3 and Volume 2 (Episodes 7-11) on July 24.

Episode 11 will still serve as a series finale, bringing Dream’s (Tom Sturridge) story to conclusion. The bonus episode, which will debut a week later, on July 31, follows his sibling Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste).

It is unclear whether it had been crafted with a potential spinoff in mind or just as an extra for fans following the pattern of Season 1, which also had a bonus episode.

Netflix revealed on Tuesday that, in addition to the 11 episodes already announced, a bonus twelfth episode will drop on July 31. The bonus episode is titled “The Sandman Presents: Death: The High Cost of Living” and will focus on the character Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste).

As previously announced, the first six episodes of Season 2 will debut on July 3, with the next five premiering on July 24. Netflix has also revealed the 11 titles for those episodes, which can be seen below.

Doctor Who star Varada Sethu has teased her new companion character Belinda Chandra's connection to her previous role on the show. The actor previously played Anglican Army soldier Mundy Flynn in a Season 1 episode called "Boom."

Sethu was announced as the Doctor's new companion in April 2024. Speaking to Radio Times, the actor hinted at what fans can expect from Belinda. Although she confirmed that the character is separate from Mundy, the actor said there might be a few links. "It's a completely different thing," Sethu explained. The actor also hinted that Doctor Who fans can expect "everything [to be] new and exciting" when Belinda meets the Doctor in the upcoming season. Sing Sing is a new prison drama film that might initially seem a little too similar to other films of the genre, in which we essentially follow prison inmates in their endeavor to understand and accept the conditions of their present life. But just a few minutes into its runtime, this film starts to stand out, both because of the extremely real and convincing approach it takes with its characters and their motivations and also due to the overarching sense of hope that guides it. By the end, it is really remarkable how Sing Sing beautifully talks about all the facets of life behind bars and the associated potential of life, and the film is an absolute must-watch for fans of serious drama.

This March, the curtain will finally rise on RSC's (Royal Shakespeare Company's) stage adaptation of My Neighbor Totoro. Ahead of the show's return to London's West End, RSC has revealed the new and returning cast members who will bring the anime's story to life.

A joint collaboration between Nippon Television and RSC, My Neighbour Totoro utilizes innovative puppetry techniques and creative stage effects to retell Hayao Miyazaki's classic tale. Per Variety, the show's production team is currently gearing up for Totoro's upcoming round of performances, which will be held at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from March 8 through Nov. 2. While Ami Okumura Jones reprises her role as Satsuki -- Totoro's spirited 10-year-old protagonist -- Singaporean actor Victoria Chen will be making her RSC debut as Satsuki's four-year-old sister, Mei.

In 1934, the inimitable Bette Davis appeared in a film adaptation of W. Somerset Maugham's "Of Human Bondage," a semi-autobiographical novel about the unfortunate loves of one Philip Carey. The 1934 film was directed by the prolific John Cromwell and starred Leslie Howard as Philip. Veteran stage actor Julien Arnold died suddenly Sunday, Nov. 24, midway through a performance of A Christmas Carol, after experiencing a medical emergency. He passed after collapsing onstage during an evening performance of the stage production at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, according to the theatre.

The cause of death has not been announced. CBC News reported that he died at the theater “despite resuscitation attempts” from paramedics, according to a spokesperson for Alberta Health Services. He was 60, the Edmonton Journal reported.

The theatre announced Arnold’s death in a statement on Instagram.
