The Sandman Season 2 is finally bringing the family back together, and not in a cozy, Sunday dinner kind of way. One of the most anticipated arcs is set to feature Dream’s most dangerous sibling: the vengeful and mysterious Delirium. Or is it Destruction? That’s the fun (and fear) of the Endless – none of them show up quietly.
After Season 1 laid the groundwork with Dream, Death, and Desire, it looks like Season 2 is ready to dive deeper into the dysfunctional, cosmic clan.

The second and final season of The Sandman airs next month. I really like Neil Gaiman's comic book series and enjoyed the first season of the show, about an eternal being named Dream (Tom Sturridge) who presides over the realm we all visit when we go to sleep. There's a ton of comic book left, but this second season will squeeze the rest of the story into 12 episodes, which is surely disappointing for many fans.
So far as we can tell, the show is being cut short because it's not popular enough to justify the expense, which makes sense in an era when all the streaming services are tightening their belts. At least according to the producers, it doesn't have anything to do with the sexual assault allegations against author Neil Gaiman. Although that might be why Netflix hasn't been talking about the series much; its recent Tudum event...

Surprise! In announcing titles for the 11 episodes from the second and final season of The Sandman, the Netflix fantasy series revealed a bonus standalone episode. It will be released after the previously set drops of Volume 1 (Episodes 1-6) on July 3 and Volume 2 (Episodes 7-11) on July 24.
Episode 11 will still serve as a series finale, bringing Dream’s (Tom Sturridge) story to conclusion. The bonus episode, which will debut a week later, on July 31, follows his sibling Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste).
It is unclear whether it had been crafted with a potential spinoff in mind or just as an extra for fans following the pattern of Season 1, which also had a bonus episode.
Caught in the controversy surrounding sexual assault and misconduct allegations against Neil Gaiman, who co-developed and executive produced the TV series based on his DC comics, The Sandman announced in January that the upcoming second season would be its last.

The first teaser for Poker Face Season 2 has dropped, promising more mystery-solving fun with Natasha Lyonne's human lie detector, Charlie Cale. The first season earned huge accolades for its clever updating of 1970s TV staples like Columbo. Every week, a new murderer appears, seemingly getting away with the perfect crime, only for Charlie to show up and unravel it all with her uncanny ability to spot someone deceiving her.
In keeping with the Columbo formula, Poker Face brings in a rotating series of high-profile guest stars, who usually appear as the various killers of the week. The template provides A-list actors with a meaty role, and yet doesn't tie them down to the long-term commitments of appearing in multiple episodes. The second season looks to capitalize on the success of the first with an impressive array of announced guest stars. With a few exceptions, it is not known who...

As Jack Quaid dominates the box office with his new action comedy, his father Dennis Quaid is singing his praises.
With Novocaine‘s $8.7 million opening leading an otherwise painfully slow weekend at the box office, the 2x Golden Globe nominee said his and Meg Ryan‘s son “certainly deserves” the success.
“I just talked to him last night. His movie’s no. 1,” Dennis Quaid told People. “I mean, that’s incredible, really great. He certainly deserves it. He’s just getting started. You haven’t seen nothing yet when it comes to him.”
Jack Quaid stars in Dan Berk and Robert Olsen’s Novocaine as sheltered bank executive Nathan Caine, who has a rare genetic condition that prevents him from feeling physical pain when he is enduring it. Universal Pictures has revealed the new trailer for the horror thriller The Woman in the Yard, opening in theaters on March 28. The film has been rated PG-13 for terror, some violent content/bloody images, suicide-related content, and brief strong language.
In the movie, a lone, spectral woman shrouded entirely in black appears on a family’s front lawn without explanation and warns them “Today’s the day.” Where did she come from? What does she want? When will she leave? Only The Woman in the Yard knows.
From Blumhouse, the most successful global brand in horror, comes a new original chiller starring BAFTA and SAG nominee Danielle Deadwyler as Ramona, a woman crippled by grief after she survives a car accident that takes her husband.
Seriously injured, Ramona now must care for their 14-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter, alone in her rural farmhouse. Then one day the woman takes form in their yard.

So far, we know that The Sandman season 2 will cover some of the comic’s most revered stories, including the ‘Season of Mists’ and ‘Brief Lives’ story arcs. It’ll also tell numerous beloved one-shot tales,...

It's a great day to be a Bridgerton fan right now! To commemorate Valentine's Day and the season of love, Netflix hosted a fan celebration to get us all excited about Bridgerton season 4. And boy did they deliver! We have so many amazing new looks and tidbits about the new season. I'm in literal fangirl mode right now, we can't wait to see what the story brings.
I mean, do you see Benedict and Sophie in that featured image above? These two are already giving us all the feels, and it's definitely the fairytale story we need. Benedict is giving off such pirate vibes, and Sophie is looking spectacularly beautiful in a swan princess/Cinderella sort of way.
It's already been previously revealed that the new central couple of the Regency-era series meet at a masquerade ball, Violet Bridgerton's masquerade ball to be exact. And this helps everyone sort of...

Leonardo DiCaprio’s love life really brings to mind that classic William Shakespeare line, “The course of true love never did run smooth” from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It’s almost as if he has been living his own real-life romantic comedy, always on the lookout for that one person to settle down with, but somehow never quite finding the right fit.
With his good looks, globe-trotting lifestyle, and an endless parade of stunning women on his arm, you’d think he’d have found ‘the one’ by now. But nope, the Titanic star seems to still be playing the field, searching for something deeper.

From models with world-class walks to actresses who can steal the show, DiCaprio had more than his fair share of spectacular love interests. But does he find ‘true love’, or is it just a game of musical chairs?...

Last year, the official live-action stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away made its international debut at the London Coliseum Theatre. Recently, the production took home a major prize at the UK-based theater competition, WhatsOnStage, officially cementing a special place in entertainment history.
Per Oricon, Spirited Away: Live on Stage was gifted the title of "Best New Play" at the 25th annual Whatsonstage awards, which was held on Feb. 9, 2025. Developed by John Caird of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), Spirited Away's stage adaptation recreates the original film's story with grandiose set pieces, innovative puppetry techniques and a live orchestral performance of Joe Hisaishi's famous score. The show's London run, which lasted from April 30, 2024, to August 24, 2024, was enormously successful. According to Oricon, Spirited Away sold out all 2,300 seats each night, totaling over 300,000 spectators over the course of its four-month run.

Every "Star Trek" fan has a favorite Captain, to varying degrees of actual rank. It might be James T. Kirk, it might be Benjamin Sisko. For a lot of us, it's hard to overcome the legacy of Jean-Luc Picard, formerly of the Enterprise-d. "Star Trek: The Next Generation" star Sir Patrick Stewart introduced himself with chilly efficiency at first, a man seemingly so rigid that having an empath around made sense. But Picard, like the rest of his crew, was flawed and human. Behind the noble French-English veneer was a man with a lifetime of troubled relationships, and a soul scarred deep by the Borg.
Picard brought with him quirks that became fandom legend, like the Picard Maneuver, which seems him snappily tugging at his tunic whenever he gets out of his chair, or the barked words "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot," at irregular intervals. He also brought us one of...

I make a habit of predicting what will be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, as many movie lovers often do. Not to brag, but I am usually pretty good. Not only can I get an accurate read of the nine or ten movies that will make the list (I only mispredicted one this year), I have been known to call the Best Picture winner before the nominees are even released. Once you get a consistent feel of how radically formulaic and political the Oscars truly are, this becomes doable and is a rather fun party trick.
The entirety of this past year, anytime someone asked me what I thought would be nominated for Best Picture, I would start by saying that Greg Kwedar's and A24's prison drama Sing Singwas the first given. Not only that, but I would follow that statement by saying something along the lines of,...

Love is like a hammock—sometimes it’s relaxing, sometimes it’s a little too tight, but when it’s right, you just want to stay there forever. When you’re in love, your world is painted in technicolor, and when you’re out of love, it’s just black and white. That being said, some relationships give you warm fuzzies, while others leave you shaking off the chill.
Shakespeare himself, in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, put it perfectly: “The course of true love never did run smooth.” His words capture the turbulence of love—the unpredictability, the highs and lows, the bliss and the agony. And in the case of Charli Xcx, the British pop sensation known for her unapologetic sound and soul-baring lyrics, the journey through love is anything but ordinary.

Christopher Nolan’s next big epic at Universal, The Odyssey, has added Himesh Patel, Elliot Page, Bill Irwin and Samantha Morton.
For Patel, Page and Irwin, it’s a reteam with the 2x Oscar-winning filmmaker. Patel starred in Nolan’s 2020 Tenet, Page in 2010’s Inception, and Irwin in 2014’s Interstellar. For 2x Oscar nominee Morton, it’s her first time working with Nolan.
The foursome join a booming ensemble that counts Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie and Charlize Theron.
Nolan’s mythic action epic, shot with new Imax cameras, is based on the ancient Greek poem by Homer which follows Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War. The classic explores themes of heroism, loyalty, cunning and the struggle against divine will. The tale includes iconic stories like Odysseus’ encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens and the witch-goddess Circe,...

Sing Sing is a new prison drama film that might initially seem a little too similar to other films of the genre, in which we essentially follow prison inmates in their endeavor to understand and accept the conditions of their present life. But just a few minutes into its runtime, this film starts to stand out, both because of the extremely real and convincing approach it takes with its characters and their motivations and also due to the overarching sense of hope that guides it. By the end, it is really remarkable how Sing Sing beautifully talks about all the facets of life behind bars and the associated potential of life, and the film is an absolute must-watch for fans of serious drama.
Spoiler Alert

When Jim Henson died in 1990, he had already negotiated a deal to sell his beloved Muppet characters to the Disney corporation, feeling that a big, brand-driven company could keep Muppet movies alive while he took a break to focus on more creative, strange, ambitious projects. Disney has since run hot and cold with the Muppets, making several notable hit films, but also multiple forgettable TV specials, and a few TV shows, two of which spectacularly bombed.
Making movies with the Muppets, Disney has learned, requires a gentle balance. Kermit the Frog is an innocent, honest character, devoid of cynicism, but the Muppets have always possessed an element of self-awareness. The original "The Muppet Show," after all, was half a variety program with singing/dancing Muppet performers, and half backstage drama with picky Muppet actors and overwhelmed Muppet stagehands. Exclusive: Colman Domingo is joining the cast of Gus Van Sant’s hostage thriller Dead Man’s Wire after completing his scenes for Edgar Wright’s The Running Man.
The title of Wright’s film is an apt for an actor who is doing the reverse of Phillip C. McGraw’s dictum that ‘it’s a marathon, not a sprint,’ by jetting from London on Monday to a devastated Los Angeles, then on to Kentucky next weekend to join Nosferatu’s Bill Skarsgard in Dead Man’s Wire in Louisville.
Austin Kolodney’s original screenplay for Dead Man’s Wire is based on the story of Tony Kirtsis, who one frigid day in February 1977 took Indianapolis mortgage broker Dick Hall hostage in his office. He attached a steel wire, that was hooked to the barrel of a sawed-off, double barrel shotgun, around his captive’s neck. Deadline revealed news of the production and the casting of Skarsgard,...

From Jon Hamm to Elisabeth Moss, the Mad Men characters are played by immensely talented actors playing deeply complex characters. Almost every major character is involved in extramarital affairs, amoral backroom dealings, and the relentless spread of secondhand smoke. Focusing on the unscrupulous executives of a New York advertising firm in the 1960s, Mad Men is subversively action-free. Whereas shows like The Sopranos relied on mob murders to keep the audience invested, Mad Men had to grip viewers with its characters and their interpersonal conflicts alone.
Throughout seven critically acclaimed seasons, the cast of Mad Men collectively won two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Many of Mad Men’s cast members received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for their performances, and some of them even took home trophies. The writers created a company full of rich, three-dimensional human beings, and the cast brought them to life.

Disney can often attract big names to appear in their animated movies, even if they are only offering a minor role. This means that some A-list actors and Oscar-winners have obscure roles in Disney movies that fans could easily miss. While the stars behind the biggest characters are usually publicized, like Dwayne Johnson in Moana and Robin Williams in Aladdin, it can be hard to recognize other actors based solely on their voices.
Disney's old classics generally don't have many recognizable names, because Hollywood's brightest stars weren't interested in animation and studios preferred dedicated voice actors anyway. The trend of casting high-profile actors in animated movies is a relatively recent one, starting in the 1990s and accelerating throughout the 21st century. These days, it's common for an animated movie's cast to be filled with A-list talent, but many of these actors can go unnoticed.

William Shakespeare's extensive body of work has been subject to countless adaptations. Whether it's a film clearly based on Shakespeare's story or one with more subtle connections, there are plenty out there to choose from. One of these is the 16th-century comedy The Taming of the Shrew, which was memorably retold in the beloved 1999 teen movie 10 Things I Hate About You. Despite the basic plot being the same, these two tales have some notable differences.
10 Things I Hate About You and its source material, The Taming of the Shrew, essentially follow two sisters and their potential love interests. The sisters are vastly different — the eldest is deemed a "shrew" or just generally difficult to be with, while the youngest is highly desirable. In 1934, the inimitable Bette Davis appeared in a film adaptation of W. Somerset Maugham's "Of Human Bondage," a semi-autobiographical novel about the unfortunate loves of one Philip Carey. The 1934 film was directed by the prolific John Cromwell and starred Leslie Howard as Philip. Davis played Mildred Rogers, a tearoom waitress that Philip falls in love with, but who treats him with the utmost cruelty. It was a great role for Davis, who was only 26 at the time.

The life of a child actor can be a Faustian bargain. On the one hand, these kids get to play make-believe for hours at a time, and if their parents don't mess things up, make enough money in the process to secure their futures.
