Brazilian series and soap operas are known worldwide. Meet the best. A Gata Comeu, television masterpiece, is (slightly) based upon Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. It tells the story of Jo Penteado, a spoiled girl who can't fall in love. Seven times engaged, Jo is a real heartbreaker. She uses men as she wishes and never finds true love. Not until she meets Professor Fabio, a truly rude but fair and nice guy whom she can't seduce. Fabio ignores Jo Penteado. The more he ignores her, the closer he gets to her heart.

But this is just the simple line. Jo kidnaps Fabio. She loses her memory, she transforms her stepsister's life into hell. They get lost in an island, and later on they come back to the same island to try to have her memory back. They slap each other in the face and they get married. Wonderful entertainment for all ages, a gem of the eighties.

One of the biggest TV-Series produced for the Globo TV. Comedy, action, adventure, has of everything. There was recently reprised, where it got a good hearing, and many people (that they had tanned at the time) had recorded all the episodes.
