    Britain's answer to Shirley Temple

Bonnie Stuart won a national newspaper competition in 1935 as London's prettiest baby. She was spotted by Monty Banks and appeared in 8 films before war curtailed her career. It is clear from watching this film that she did not have a fraction of the talent of Temple and that films such as this were little more than quota quickie. In fact it has to be said that listening at her attempt to sing is truly excruciating. It is clear that she has been taught to dance a few basic steps. The story seems to be cobbled together from the clichés of the genre. The title number is sung more than once and it becomes rather a bore.I doubt that Stuart would have gone on to further fame.
