There can be only one. Or, in the case of the "Highlander" franchise, there can be only six movies, three TV shows, and a web series, not to mention nine tie-in novels, two comic book titles, a card game, and a video game for the Atari Jaguar.
The mythology of the "Highlander" movies started pretty simply, spinning centuries-old tales of knight-errantry into a modern fable of magical immortality. Russel Mulcahy's 1986 original laid out the rules clearly: hiding among ordinary humans is a species of magical immortals who can only be killed by decapitation. When one Immortal decapitates another, they absorb their victim's life energy, becoming stronger and more exhilarated. The legend goes that when there is only one Immortal remaining on Earth, they will be granted a wish called The Prize. The central Immortal of the series, a 16th century Highlander named Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert), wishes more than anything to grow old.

2024 sees Donnie Yen cementing his place as Hollywood's biggest martial arts action star. Yen's upcoming projects, including the John Wick spin-off and Ip Man 5, will solidify his status as a martial arts movie legend. Donnie Yen remains one of Hong Kong cinema's biggest stars, but his reach in Hollywood is still growing.
A legend in Hong Kong cinema, Donnie Yen has made his mark in Hollywood, but 2024 is set to take the martial artist and actor's career to new heights. In 1984, Yen landed his first starring role in the martial arts action flick Drunken Tai Chi. From there, he rose to fame in Hong Kong, eventually making his directorial debut with 1997's Legend of the Wolf. A few years later, he appeared in the Hollywood film Highlander: Endgame and, soon enough, played the antagonist in Jackie Chan's action comedy Shanghai Knights. Decades later, Donnie Yen is now the new Jackie Chan.

Those who don’t follow professional wrestling may not appreciate just how tough and grueling it is. It isn’t enough to be on the road 200+ days a year, getting dropped on your head or your back every night, dealing with injuries, losing your spot on the roster, and worse. If you’ve seen films like The Iron Claw, The Wrestler, or the old Beyond the Mat documentary, you know that professional wrestling is grind like no other.
But the other aspect that goes underappreciated is how much wrestling relies on acting. If you have any hope of making it big, it isn’t enough to be able to do a tope suicida or Texas Cloverleaf on the way to a 5-star mat classic. You have to be able to act your role, day in and day out. Often, you have to act live, in front of an audience of thousands,...

Chad Stahelski's upcoming Highlander reboot has the potential to surpass the success of John Wick, thanks to his mastery of action directing and the ensemble of martial artists he brings together. Stahelski's knack for assembling talented action stars in the John Wick franchise aligns perfectly with the premise of Highlander, where immortal warriors engage in sword battles. The John Wick universe's intricate hierarchy and rules could serve as a template for a refreshed Highlander, allowing for a more complex and layered exploration of the culture of immortals. Stahelski's versatility as a director would shine in this new world.
Chad Stahelski's upcoming reboot of the Highlander franchise could be even better than John Wick: Chapter 5. After many years in the stunt world, Stahelski made his directorial debut alongside fellow stunt professional David Leitch on 2014's action hit John Wick, with Stahelski solo-directing the next three movies in the series.

The Dracula 2000 episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? was Written by Emilie Black, Narrated by Adam Walton, Edited by Victoria Verduzco, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Horror in the year 2000 was something. Yeah, that’s it, it was something. A lot of it happened, some of it was great, some of it was good, and some of it, not so much. Actually, if the internet crowd is to be believed, the early 2000s, especially the year 2000 were abysmal for horror. We did get a few memorable films released in 2000 like the first Final Destination film, Cherry Falls, Ginger Snaps, The Cell, and American Psycho. However, the scales had some serious bad on the other side to balance it all out. Films like Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, Hellraiser: Inferno, Christina’s House, and Dracula 2000 (watch it Here) came and...

Donnie Yen was once set to have a major role in The Expendables 2, but here's why he ultimately passed. Despite being one of the world's greatest martial arts stars, Yen had a tough time breaking into Hollywood. He was shamefully wasted in the likes of Blade 2 and Highlander: Endgame, and it wasn't until recent years that the likes of John Wick: Chapter 4 showed him in his best light.
Given that the brief of The Expendables movies is to gather the best action stars from around the world, it's curious that Yen has yet to make an appearance. Of course, other action stars turned down The Expendables too, including Jackie Chan and Kurt Russell. Unlike the others, Yen actually Was cast in The Expendables 2, but dropped out before the sequel started filming. It turns out there were a couple of reasons behind that decision.

Donnie Yen once had a cool take on The Expendables and it really needs to happen. Yen is a legend of martial arts cinema, from Once Upon a Time in China II to Hero or the Ip Man movies. Sadly, his early experiences with Hollywood yielded disappointing results; he was tragically wasted in Blade 2 and proved to be one of the few reasons to watch 2000's Highlander: Endgame. Thankfully, recent years have seen American studios giving him worthy roles, with John Wick: Chapter 4's Caine easily being his best English-language project to date.
The Expendables movie franchise was formed with the mission brief of uniting some of the biggest action stars in the world. While it pulled in an impressive number of icons - including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li and Harrison Ford - it missed some big names too. Yen was a near-miss, as he was once set...

On a chilly Oscars eve, Donnie Yen has just returned from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, where he was rehearsing for the Academy Awards along with a slew of fellow global superstar presenters like Spain’s Antonio Banderas and India’s Deepika Padukone. The “John Wick: Chapter 4” scene-stealer, who hails from southern China, feels good about how the following night might unfold, namely for his friend and Hong Kong neighbor Michelle Yeoh. Her victory and that of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” would be a landmark moment for Asian representation, he says.

Warning: Spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 4 Below!John Wick: Chapter 4 is the first Hollywood movie to truly use Donnie Yen’s talents to their fullest. In John Wick: Chapter 4, John and the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) prepare to take on the High Table. While John is determined to finally win his freedom from the High Table, this mission is complicated by the return of his old friend Caine (Donnie Yen).
As a retired assassin himself, Caine is coerced to take out John Wick for the High Table, in order to save his daughter. Yen’s performance as Caine is a major highlight of John Wick: Chapter 4, but it does not stop there. John Wick: Chapter 4 is also by far the best Hollywood role Donnie Yen has ever had, and the one to really let the Hong Kong martial arts star show what he can do.

The Highlander films were largely hit and miss, with the seminal original being the only one that has really lived up to its reputation. From its loins came a very unexpected spinoff TV series that won numerous awards, and continued the Highlander story in an alternate timeline from that of the first film. Action Star Donnie Yen (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”) has joined the cast of Disney’s live-action “Mulan,” an individual with knowledge of the project tells TheWrap.
Yen will play Commander Tung in remake of 1998 Disney animated film.
Niki Caro is directing the film, which stars Chinese actress Liu Yifei in the title role. Jason Reed, Chris Bender and Jake Weiner are producing, and Bill Kong is executive producing.

Disney’s live-action version of the classic Disney tale comes on the heels of various revival projects like “The Jungle Book” and “Beauty and the Beast,” both of which grossed over $1 billion worldwide. “Beauty and the Beast” grossed $174.8 million its opening weekend alone. A remake of “The Lion King” is one of many upcoming live-action projects.
The animated “Mulan,” released in 1998, was based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan and was directed by Tony Bancroft and Barry Cook. It grossed $304.3 million worldwide after earning $22.7 million its opening weekend.
Yen was the martial arts choreographer for 2000’s “Highlander: Endgame” and 2002’s “Blade II,” appearing in both of those films as an actor, as well. He also starred opposite Jackie Chan in 2003’s “Shanghai Knights.”

Yen made his movie debut in the 1984 Hong Kong film “Drunken Tai Chi” and came to wider attention with his portrayal of Nap-lan Yun-seut in 1992’s “Once Upon a Time in China II.” His international breakthrough came playing the title character in 2008’s “Ip Man,” based on Wing Chun grandmaster — and Bruce Lee’s teacher — Yip Man. He reprised that role in 2010’s “Ip Man 2” and last year’s “Ip Man 3,” where Yen starred opposite boxing legend Mike Tyson – and accidentally broke the champ’s finger during a fight scene.
Yen is repped by CAA, Bullet Films, and Bloom Hergott.

I’m always skeptical when it comes to reboots. On the one hand they can be well justified and prove to be a success (Casino Royale, 2006) but on the odd occasion it can backfire and you find yourself walking the exact same path again (The Amazing Spider-man, 2012). There are several reboots in the pipeline, one of which I’m not too keen on, The Crow, which to me feels like an insult to the performance and memory of Brandon Lee. However, a reboot of 80s action-fantasy Highlander (1986) I’m well and truly behind.
Highlander has a special place in my heart, with its basic – if a little silly – premise. Fallen warriors who have been resurrected as immortals take part in “The Game”, where they must behead each other, until the last remaining two fight for “The Prize”. How can you not love that as a concept? A simple set up...

MaryAnn’s quick take… There’s genuine fun here, but the humor is cynical, the heroics are tinged with regret, and it’s all delivered with a cold smack of — yes — political relevance. I’m “biast” (pro): massive Star Wars fan, don’t even get me started
I’m “biast” (con): nothing
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
Damn.
Did we think, at the end of the very first Star Wars movie, that Luke Skywalker was a hero? He was nothing. Nothing.
Did we think Luke Skywalker was a hero? What he did was nothing to what we see here.
Okay, not nothing. But, as Rogue One reveals with brutal clarity, Luke’s lucky Force-assisted like–bulls-eying–womprats bombing run at the Death Star was only the final link in a very long chain of people doing way more brave and way more daring things.

John Wick’s Chad Stahelski will team with Colony's Ryan Condal for the Highlander reboot.
In an entertainment industry age in which the 1980s are habitually mined for reboot fodder, one of that prolific decade’s most expansive multimedia properties, Highlander, has somehow remained untapped for the better part of two decades. That, however, is about to change.
The centuries-spanning intrigue of battling immortals whose tagline famously states, “There can be only one” will soon manifest as a new big-screen effort. Chad Stahelski will direct Lionsgate’s reboot of Highlander. After a decades-long resume in the arena of stunts and second unit stewarding, Stahelski received his first credit as a director alongside David Leitch for the 2014 Keanu Reeves-starring action sleeper hit John Wick, subsequently solo-directing its sequels, the latest of which, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, hits this weekend.

News this week came in that the final planned Divergent Series movie would be skipping the theaters and go direct to television/DVD. It’s a rare move for such a major studio franchise to make, and it got me to thinking about other movie series that fizzled and did the same. Come inside to check out a history of downward sliding franchises!
If I come off sounding a bit harsh about all this, it’s mostly due to the fact that it’s such a bizarre situation. It’s been awhile since a studio franchise had to dropped down to direct-to-television and it’s not a good thing. Sure, Lionsgate is trying to spin the information that it’s part of a planned way to jumpstart a spin-off TV series...but the reality is this isn’t how they wanted The Divergent Series to end.

After the monstrous box office success of Deadpool earlier this year, Deadpool 2 is certainly happening, with Ryan Reynolds set to return as the Merc With the Mouth along with director Tim Miller and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The post credit scene of Deadpool featured Ryan Reynolds revealing that the iconic comic book character Cable will be featured in the sequel, with the actor teasing possible candidates such as Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren and even Keira Knightley for the role. While Cable hasn't been officially cast yet, several actors have expressed interest in the role, and it seems we now have another contender, with WWE Superstar turned actor Adam Copeland a.k.a. Edge throwing his hat in the ring.
Adam Copeland, who mentioned the Cable role on Twitter this weekend, joins Stephen Lang, Dolph Lundgren, and Ron Perlman as actors who have expressed their desire to play...

Devoted fans of Asian action cinema already know Donnie Yen from his many martial arts movies, but for everyone else, his upcoming role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will serve as a grand, if delayed, introduction. Yen began his entertainment career as a stunt double in 1982, quickly graduating to star status two years later in Drunken Tai Chi. His abilities as a martial artist were abundantly on display in movies like Tiger Cage, In the Line of Duty 4, Once Upon a Time in China 2, Iron Monkey and Wing Chun. He moved to television in the mid-1990s and then nabbed supporting roles in Hollywood; look for him in Highlander: Endgame, Blade II and Shanghai Knights, the latter opposite Jackie Chan. Unlike Chan, however, Yen has never been known for his comic abilities and it...

Wrestling fans are used to seeing some weird things pop up on television shows. After all, where else are you going to see an 80-year-old woman give birth to a hand, a man have comedy ‘necrophiliac’ sex with a mannequin (while wearing a mask) and the boss of a billion dollar company literally force his employees to kiss his backside? And that’s just for starters.
In short, there are no shortage of ‘Wtf?’ moments in WWE and you’re bound to see at least one or two on any given broadcast. A big reason for that is because a lot of stuff is done ‘on the fly’. Also, wrestlers generally aren’t trained actors, adding to the general WTFness of these moments.
Movies are supposed to be different, though. Whether they get a wide release on the big screen or simply go direct to DVD and VOD,...

Former WWE Superstar Adam Copeland, known in the ring as Edge, has signed on to play the comic book character Al Rothstein, a.k.a. Atom Smasher in Season 2 of The Flash. The actor has signed on to appear in The Flash Season 2 premiere, which is currently in production, although his character on the show will be quite different than his rendition in the DC Comics. Here's a description of the character from ComicBook.com.
"One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash. His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him."
In the DC Comics, Al Rothstein was a hero, but there was villainy in his family line.

She's been wandering in the wilderness for a good few years, but Red Sonja has just returned to her previous home at studio Millennium / Nu Image. Development has started over on a new Sonja movie, with up-and-coming writer Christopher Cosmos set to work on the screenplay.Sonja, is sort of a Robert E. Howard creation like Conan The Barbarian, but actually has more to do with Roy Thomas' Conan comics for Marvel. Howard's Red Sonya of Rogatino doesn't inhabit the same world or time period as Conan and doesn't wear a chain-mail bikini; it was Thomas that revamped her as the amazon sword-maiden we now recognise. She was previously embodied onscreen by Brigitte Nielsen in 1985, with Arnold Schwarzenegger also on-hand as the all-but Conan Prince Kalidor. Twenty-odd years later, Sonja reared her crimson head again, in a projected film that was to star Rose McGowan, with Robert Rodriguez producing and...

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Donnie Yen will be making a return to the Us to star in a new English-language film titled 'Noodle Man'. He will play an ex-cop from China who now runs a noodle shop in New York's Chinatown. One day, he meets in his shop the drug lord responsible for killing his partner 15 years ago. Noodle Man will be a Us-China co-production directed by Chen Daming (who helmed the Chinese version of What Women Want starring Andy Lau and Gong Li) and produced by Michael Shamberg, producer of films such as Pulp Fiction, Out Of Sight, Contagion and Django Unchained. For a movie who’s most famous tag line is “there can be only one,” there are sure a ton of Highlander sequels, TV spinoffs (live action and animated), novels, comic books, and reboots. But that should come as no surprise; this is Hollywood, and the immortal Scottish swordsman epic is one of the most indelible franchises of the past 30 years.
The original Highlander arrived in 1986, and is easily the most hallowed of all Highlander properties, featuring the holy triumvirate of genre stars: Christopher Lambert (NCIS: La, Greystoke: The Legend Of Tarzan, Lord Of The Apes, Mortal Kombat), Sean Connery (The James Bond, Dr. Jones, The Rock, The Untouchables, The Hunt For Red October), and Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption, Starship Troopers, ER, Flubber, Pet Sematary II, John Dies At The End, and ubiquitous voice actor). The hit spawned Highlander 2: The Quickening (1991), a TV show starring Adrian Paul that...

Following the shiny, sexy and stylish teaser poster for the long delayed horror thriller Nurse 3D from Lionsgate, we finally have a teaser trailer for the film arriving next February. With a Single White Female vibe, this looks like a sultry but trashy movie that feels like a Skinemax movie that looks pretty. Paz De La Huerta leads the charge as a nurse who becomes obsessed with one of her co-workers (Katrina Bowden), but when she pulls away from her aggressive advances, that's when things get deadly. We suppose the rampant sex and nudity isn't a far cry from other horror movies, but it feels like 3D softcore porn. Watch? Here's the first trailer for Doug Aariniokoski's Nurse 3D, originally from Apple: Nurse 3D is directed by Doug Aariniokoski (The Day, Highlander: Endgame), who wrote the script with David Loughery (Obsessed, Lakeview Terrace). Abby Russell (Paz De La Huerta), by...

Over two years ago, a provocative poster for the bloody thriller Nurse 3D featured a nude Paz De La Huerta covered in blood. Back then the film was a hopeful for release in 2012, but Lionsgate has kept it on the shelf. However, the film now has a release date of February 7, 2014, and a new poster to along with it that's sexy, but not nearly as revealing as the first one. The stylish one sheet still features the leading lady, but now she's wearing a skin-tight latex nurse outfit and riding a giant syringe like Dr. Strangelove. We're not sure what to expect when it comes to this seemingly strange thriller, but we'll find out early next year. Here's the new poster for Doug Aariniokoski's Nurse 3D from HitFix: Nurse 3D is directed by Doug Aariniokoski (The Day, Highlander: Endgame), who wrote the script with David Loughery (Obsessed, Lakeview Terrace). Ryan Reynolds has officially signed on to star in the Highlander remake for Summit Entertainment and director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.
We reported last month that the actor was a front runner for the role of Connor McLeod, a sword-wielding Scotsman who is one of the last immortal warriors known as Highlanders. After nearly a month's worth of negotiations, the deal is finally sealed for the Green Lantern star to portray this iconic character. He is no stranger to swordplay either, having played Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is directing, and he is also in talks to rewrite the screenplay by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Neal H. Moritz and Peter S. Davis are producing.
Christopher Lambert first portrayed Connor McLeod in the 1986 adventure Highlander, that spawned the sequels Highlander II: The Quickening, Highlander: The Final Dimension, Highlander: Endgame, Highlander: The Source, Highlander: The Search for Vengeance,...

Back in 1986, Russell Mulcahy directed Highlander , an action fantasy film starring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery about a battle between immortal warriors, which became an immediate cult hit leading to five more films, a television show, animated series and more. Granted, the movies were never huge commercial successes, at least theatrically, as seen by Highlander: Endgame which grossed just 12.8 million total in 2000--it cost $15 million--but Summit Entertainment has been interested in reviving and rebooting the franchise, a plan that's been in the works for nearly four years. Most recently, director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo ( 28 Weeks Later ) was named to reboot the character and while speaking with Fresnadillo and actor Clive Owen for their latest film Intruders ,...

They may not be household names like their A-list colleagues, but the actors on this list have appeared in some of our all-time favourite geek movies...
Some actors dabble in sci-fi; others dip their toe into fantasy; some may even make an appearance in the odd horror film - all before returning to the safety of the genres in which they feel more comfortable - perhaps a nice, award-chasing period drama, or a well-paid romantic comedy.
A-listers may see the geeky films that we on this site enjoy and celebrate as fun little side-projects, but there are actors out there who commit full-time to these types of movies. It is high time, therefore, that we credited these individuals with the recognition they deserve.
Besides the stipulation that, in order to be included, an actor had to still be alive and working today, there were no strict criteria that had to...

According to Twitch, if Hong Kong’s current “It” boy wants it, the role is his. And what role would that be, you ask? Word is, it will be “tailor-made” for Yen, whatever that means. This wouldn’t be the first time Yen’s tried his hand in Hollywood. He’s played a kung fu villain in “Shanghai Noon”, an sword-swinging immortal in “Highlander: Endgame”, and a vamp with a sword in “Blade 2″. But those were all background roles, not leads, and Yen has played nothing but leads in the last few years thanks to his meteoric rise in Asian cinema. Would/could he really go back to playing second banana to a bunch of Hollywood muscleheads after achieving the pinnacle of stardom? I guess it’ll depend on how much he wants to break back into Hollywood, though there’s no doubt that a role in a sequel like...

The last time I heard the name Douglas Aarniokoski was a few years ago when the director of Highlander: Endgame was attached to direct Red Sonja, a project which has been dormant since it was announced. Somewhere along the line Aarniokoski picked up a new gig, directing a Pa flick which is set to premiere at Tiff.
The Day stars Shannyn Sossamon, Dominic Monaghan, Shawn Ashmore, Cory Hardrict and Ashley Bell as five survivors of some disaster who wonder around the back-roads trying to survive. There are little details on the plot, like what they're running away from, but one can guess that perhaps scavenging for food is at the centre of the battle between groups of survivors and ammunition comes in handy for fighting off the herds. Or it could be some sort of alien invasion scenario. Or zombies. Your guess is as good as mine. All we know...

Technically, "The Day" is the second feature from Douglas Aarniokoski; he made his directing debut in 2000 with Dimension Films' "Highlander: Endgame" (the fourth in the series, for those keeping count). Tiff 2011 Preview: First Look Pics, Poster and Teaser Trailer for Post-Apocalypic Thriller 'The Day'
Shawn Ashmore, Ashley Bell, Cory Hardrict, Shannyn Sossamon and Dominic Monaghanin The Day
Photo: Content Media In terms of overall cast, director Doug Aarniokoski's The Day was probably the most recognizable feature on this morning's Toronto Film Festival announcement sheet as the post-apocalyptic thriller includes the likes of Shawn Ashmore (X2: X-Men United, Frozen, The Ruins), Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism), Cory Hardrict (Battle: Los Angeles), Dominic Monaghan ("Lost", The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Shannyn Sossamon (One Missed Call).
Just looking at some of the pics I've received and the teaser trailer for the film I've included below, the film has a Book of Eli look to it as it is centered in a post-apocalyptic future where five survivors wander along rural back-roads, lost, starving and on the run. With dwindling food stocks and ammunition, an attempt at seeking shelter turns into a battleground where they must fight or die.

There can only be one! The Highlander franchise tagline couldn’t have been more wrong.
After a series of films featuring Christopher Lambert as the immortal Connor MacLeod a successful Highlander TV series starring Adrian Paul was launched, with Paul playing another member of the Clan MacLeod. Eventually, both immortals met for the film Highlander: Endgame and that was the end of the main franchise until Summit Entertainment announced a reboot in 2008, with Justin Lin (Fast Five) signing on to direct back in 2009, with Neil Moritz producing.
Although Lin is busy planning Terminator 5 with Arnold Schwarzenegger attached, as well as the obligatory Fast & Furious 6 movie, he’s still on board with Highlander and the script is being worked on.

There is a surfeit of good news today, but an entire pile of random tidbits that taken together will make you wonder if the bottom of the bottle has the answer. Not because any of the news is that bad in and of itself, but because so much of it makes you really question whether we're really trying as a species.
First up, CinemaCon is going on right now in Las Vegas. It's the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners. That's right, theater owners decided that the best acronym for them would be "Nato." Do you think if one of the theater owners brings in a backpack and a coffee to the convention, they make him throw away the coffee and submit to a search of his backpack? Well, Nato has announced that they will be giving Vin Diesel that coveted Action Star of the Year award.

I don't really know what to say, except that two of the hottest things in Hollywood have managed to cluster together. Tara Reid and Horror, I mean who can argue with that!? Horror for one thing just goes hand in hand with babes, a genre that Megan Fox is destined for some day maybe. But until then, we can report - with a pants busting crush - that Tara Reid may have joined the cast of the sequel to Piranha 3D, blatantly titled Piranha 3Dd. And as it turns out, I like the idea!
I'm going to class this one as rumor, because we've been fooled before; but Dark Horizon is reporting her involvement in the film with no source, and they haven't even seemed to realize/haven't even bother to state that Piranha 3Dd hasn't even started shooting or castings yet, which starts to raise a few questions.

Tara Reid may have joined the cast of the sequel to Piranha 3D, currently titled Piranha 3Dd, and that seems perfect. It.s perfect because Piranha is not the kind of movie that asks to be, or should be taken seriously, and because pretty much no one takes Tara Reid seriously anymore, if they think of her at all. The news of her involvement comes from Dark Horizons where they don.t seem to mention the fact that the movie hasn.t started shooting or casting yet, making her involvement strange. The normally reliable guys at Dh don.t cite a source for their rumor either and it.s worth noting that Moviehole says she.s not involved at all. What Mh says is more certain, is that Highlander: Endgame writer Joel Soisson has been brought in to do a rewrite on the Piranha sequel script. Maybe that.s a...

Recently "Piranha 3Dd", the sequel to last year's fun creature feature, found its slot on the film release schedule being pushed back by two months. Now, two new additions have been made to the cast and crew.
Veteran horror film writer/producer Joel Soisson ("Dracula 2000," "Highlander: Endgame") has come onboard the project to re-write Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan’s script and produce the film reports Moviehole.
Meanwhile, actress Tara Reid has also joined the cast reports Perez Hilton. Reid, mostly famous for her tabloid image in recent years, has been booking projects quickly this week as she's also jumped onboard "American Reunion", the fourth "American Pie" film.
With 'Piranha' she joins a cast that includes "Glee" star Mark Salling and "Camelot" actress Tamsin Egerton. John Gulager directs and shooting kicks off soon in North Carolina.
Update: The Weinstein Company have sent a statement to EW denying both Reid and Salling's involvement.
