Both are fictionalized films, with Weird Al's early career, including the inspiration for his songs, as the subject, but with notable differences. While "Compleat Al" is a "mockumentary" that parodies the biographical documentary, and also acts as a showcase for Yankovic's music videos, "Weird" is a parody of the biographical drama or "biopic".
