    syrupy sweet but fab

I saw this movie on TV and it inspired me to remember human flaws and strength. Despite the fact that this movie is undeniably as sweet as a Starbucks Chantico I felt that the acting was strong enough to pull this movie through. It had a strong foundation in the morality story genre but still allowed human flaws to play an important role. It's a fantastic movie for children in grade 7 and up. Any earlier than that and they may not understand the biblical references and certain scenes may not be appropriate. Fabulous movie for an easy watch or to teach children a few good morals. Personally it came at a time where I could appreciate the text as well as the acting. Congratulations on a great movie! Now if only I could find it again!

    Very interesting and funny

God is asking himself if he wants to pull the plug on our planet. So he sends St. John the Baptist to investigate and to give him some reasons for not ending this world that he once created. So St. John the Baptist lands in St. John's, Newfoundland (Canada).

Funny movie and interesting look at today's society. The acting is also very good.

Seen a couple years ago at the Sudbury Cinéfest Festival.

    Out of 100, I gave it 85.

Satirical commentary on the state of the world at the Millennium--bound to have polarized reactions

God is disgusted with the world and tells the Pope through Mary that an envoy/prophet (John the Baptist) is being sent to find a sign if the grand human experiment should be continued, or if the plug should be pulled. John is sent to his namesake city, St. John's, Newfoundland, and here his adventure begin, both hilarious and irreverent. This film is sure to offend some while it amuses others in its musings on religion and modern culture at the millennium. (A selection of the St. Louis International Film Festival.)

john the baptist returns to earth to stop the end of the world

a wonderful movie that must be seen! No big names however you will be touched by a well directed and understated little movie with a lot of heart and passion. It stays with you. Rent it or buy it. You'll watch it more then once!

    Just my opinion

This is the most original movie I've seen in a long time. If you're tired of seeing recycled Hollywood scripts, this movie will be a refreshing change of pace. The acting is genuine, the script funny, but thought provoking. Congrats to Mary Walsh and Andy Jones.
