“Duster,” the new Max crime series from J.J. Abrams and Latoya Morgan, initially pits getaway driver and career criminal Jim Ellis (Josh Holloway of “Lost”) and rookie FBI agent Nina Hayes (Rachel Hilson) … until they realize they might have a common enemy in Jim’s boss Ezra Saxton (Keith David).

TheWrap spoke to Morgan, as well as Holloway and Hilson, about the shifting dynamic between the two lead characters and how they go from wary distrust to actually becoming partners in a way.

Sad news out of Hollywood today, as actor Jan Schwieterman — best known for his work in the 1997 film Good Burger — has passed away at the age of 52.

News of Schwieterman’s passing comes to us courtesy of a social media post from his brother, Chad.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my brother, Jan (Jp) Schwieterman,” Chad wrote on Facebook.

According to the grieving family, Jan was diagnosed with “an aggressive form” of cancer, and he passed away shortly thereafter.

“He recently found out he had an aggressive form of stage 4 cancer and passed yesterday evening. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this difficult time,” Chad explained in his post.

Jan Patrick Schwieterman, known as J.P. to his family, was born on September 30, 1972, in Bluffton, In. He moved to California after high school to become an actor and in 1994 was cast in an episode of the drama McKenna starring Chad Everett, Eric Close and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

It’s been more than two decades since Felicity ended its four-season run in 2002, and fans wanting a revival of the WB romantic drama series may not want to hold their breath. Per Deadline, Scott Foley, who played Noel Crane in all 84 episodes of Felicity, addressed the possibility of a reboot in an appearance on Good Morning America.

GMA co-host Michael Strahan asked Foley, who was appearing on the morning show to promote his new role on the ABC series Will Trent, if he would be up for starring in a Felicity reboot, indicating that the show’s titular character, Keri Russell, said she would be willing.

While appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America, Foley was asked about a potential reboot for the WB drama, which ended its four-season run in 2002.

Michael Strahan asked Foley if he would be down to star in a revival of the series he co-starred with Keri Russell and Scott Speedman.

“Of course I’d do it,” Foley said. “My question to you, Michael: I’m going to be 53 this year. I feel like the Felicity reboot window may have passed.”

Strahan added, “It’s Felicity of the future,” and Foley joked, “It’s Cocoon Felicity.”

Another Carl Hiaasen novel is being developed as a TV series with Bill Lawrence onboard.

Variety has learned exclusively that a series version of Hiaasen’s novel “Skinny Dip” is currently in development at Max with Adam Horowitz & Edward Kitsis set to write and Lawrence attached as an executive producer.

The logline for the one-hour dramedy series describes it as “a screwball-romantic-comedy-triangle about murder, revenge, and greed in the Everglades.”

Lawrence, a longtime fan of Hiaasen, is currently the creator and showrunner on the series adaptation of “Bad Monkey” at Apple TV+. That show debuted at Apple in August 2024 and was renewed for a second season in December.

Scott Foley has signed on to star and executive produce It’s Not Like That, a faith based drama at Prime Video, Deadline has confirmed. It’s Not Like That, from Wonder Project, was given a cast-contingent series order at Prime Video in November and Foley’s casting now lifts that contingency.

Foley will play the series regular role of Malcolm, a minister and recent widow.

Per the logline, It’s Not Like That follows Lori, who is freshly divorced with two teens. Malcolm’s a minister and recently widowed dad of three. Their families once did everything together, but now Lori and Malcolm must navigate their newly minted singledom, parenthood and the complexities of Malcolm being a modern-day minister. Rom-coms have been no small piece of director Mark Waters’s career. He’s the man behind films including “Just Like Heaven” and “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past,” he produced “500 Days of Summer,” and more.

But, even with a new rom-com out on Netflix this week, if you ask Waters himself, he wouldn’t necessarily tout himself as a king in the genre.

Details regarding his character and the film’s plot are currently under wraps. However, Foley is already part of the Scream universe having portrayed antagonist Roman Bridger, the film director and half-brother of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) who was revealed to be the Ghostface Killer of Scream 3.

Lisa Kudrow remembers her Friends TV mom, Teri Garr, following news of her death.

Garr died at the age of 79 due to multiple sclerosis, which was first diagnosed in 1999. Kudrow shared the small screen with Garr in multiple episodes of the NBC sitcom and paid tribute to her late co-star.

“Teri Garr was a comedic acting genius who was and is a huge influence on me and I know I’m not alone in that,” Kudrow said in a statement to People. “I feel so lucky and grateful I got to work with Teri Garr.”

Garr played the role of Phoebe Abbott on Friends, Kudrow’s Phoebe Buffay, and Ursula Buffay’s estranged mother. Her first appearance was in the 1997 Season 3 finale episode titled “The One at the Beach.” In the episode, Phoebe meets with a woman she believes is her parents’ friend. Phoebe later discovers that the woman is her biological mother.

Teri Garr, the Oscar-nominated actress best known for her work in hit comedies like Tootsie and Young Frankenstein, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, at her home in Los Angeles, The New York Times reports. She was 79.

Garr’s publicist confirmed her death, saying it was caused by complications from multiple sclerosis. Garr was diagnosed with Ms in 1999 and revealed it publicly in 2002. In 2006, she suffered a brain aneurysm that left her in a coma for several days, though she eventually regained her ability to speak.

Russell is doing a press tour, preparing for the return of the Netflix political drama The Diplomat, which makes her comeback to the small screen after her run on the acclaimed spy thriller The Americans. But for many, Russell is still best remembered for her breakout lead role in Felicity. Created by the duo of Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams, the college drama ran from 1998 to 2002 on The WB.

In an interview with E! News, along with Diplomat co-star Rufus Sewell, Russell was asked about the possibility of rebooting Felicity. The four-time Emmy nominee gave an encouraging response, noting that she's close with co-stars Scott Speedman (who played love interest Ben Covington) and Amanda Foreman (who played goth roommate Meghan Rotundi) and that she'd be open to it for the right idea.
