The career of Mathias Coppens started in 1993 with this movie. Mathias got the lead role and the Dutch Bella van Meel was allowed to take the role of his co-star. In the film, the two fell in love, but also in real life Mathias had butterflies in his stomach.
"On first day I knew that I was in love. I've never been in love so much in my life as I was with Bella, but I've never dared to say that to her", Mathias says.
Mathias remembers the filming like it was yesterday . "I did not go to school for two months and I fell in love." But there was also a nude scene in the film and that was not always easy for the 13-year old boy. 'I was so frightened to play that scene, because Bella had to undress me and then we had to lie naked next to each other', he continues.
