Matt Stone and Trey Parker in South Park (1997)

Review by Nic 420

South Park

The sad product of a sad generation.

As much as I'd like South Park to be a short two or three season failure, I just don't think it's going to happen. As long as it maintains its current cult-like following, it's not going anywhere. I agree with all the other South Park-hating Simpsons-lovers out there, this show needs to grovel at the metaphorical feet of the Simpsons. What I think it's doing is taking all the vulgarity, sex jokes, and swearing of, say, a whole season of the Simpsons and cramming it all into one episode. Although I have nothing against some good raunchy humor and vulgar jokes (I love 80s teen sex comedies myself), trying to use it as the basis for a cartoon doesn't really work. I think that South Park is, in fact, the sad product of a sad generation (I'm 14, so I suppose that is a little hypocritical), and that the Simpsons will always be the best. HAIL SIMPSONS!!!
