Jim Breuer and Dave Chappelle in Les fumistes (1998)

Trivia

Les fumistes

Edit
While Dave Chappelle was on Actors Studio (1994) in 2006, he revealed that he was unhappy with the final product and claimed that the script he co-wrote was much funnier, and that the final result was "a weed movie for kids".
Thurgood mentions to the scientist that his grandfather was in the Tuskeegee Experiments. In real life, Dave Chappelle's grandfather really was in the Tuskeegee experiments, in which thousands of African-Americans were intentionally infected with syphilis.
The period between the script being bought to the release of the film was only seven months, an incredibly fast time frame for a major studio film.
The look of the guys' apartment is based from Grand Royal, the studio where New York based rap band the Beastie Boys have recorded their music. Director Tamra Davis is married to Beastie Boys member Michael Diamond, better known as Mike D.
Cowriter Neal Brennan has a small role as the counter worker at the fast food restaurant where Scarface works.

Cameo

Bob Saget: as the cock sucking rehab attendee.
Steven Wright: as the sleeping guy on the couch.
Janeane Garofalo: as the creative poet smoker.
