Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro in Las Vegas Parano (1998)

FAQ

Las Vegas Parano

FAQ

Especially for the home video release through Criterion a unique Director's Cut was created by Gilliam and author Hunter S. Thompson. This cut contains a scene that otherwise was only to be seen in part and only in the cinematic trailer. It shows events in retrospect that the main character Raoul Duke remembers fragmentarily when listening to the recorded conversations on his cassette recorder.

Not technically. Where the Buffalo Roam (1980) was written by the same author (Hunter S. Thompson) and does have the same characters, but the plot and story is not connected to or a continuation of Where the Buffalo Roam.

Two other movies have been adapted from novels by Hunter S. Thompson: Where the Buffalo Roam (1980) and The Rum Diary (2011)
