Not bad at all

This made for TV, based on real life, issue drama is worth a look. It's a good story with a happy ending and drug companies should watch and be afraid. The two leads are excellent. You root for Sybil Goodrich despite her bulldozing methods. The actress who plays her quite subtly conveys the fear of cancer that underlies much of her rather abrasive behaviour and insistence on eating nothing but "chopped salad" even at a hamburger stand. Both women have textbook conflicts with their men, who feel "neglected" (code for not getting enough sex) and "ignored" (code for worrying that their partner's job is more important and interesting than theirs). This syndrome may be played out in cliches, but it is nonetheless around us every day. xxxxx

Vary good-real story of real women fighting for their rights

Chronicles the early fight with the powerful medical industry of women with breast implants and the complications resulting from their deterioration. They suffered horrible physical, emotional, and psychological trauma. And NO ONE would take them seriously. 98% of the surgeons where just interested in inserting more implants because it meant for dollars in their pockets. The manufacturers lied, intimidated, silenced, and brought political and legal persecution on anyone that complained.

Yet two determined women fought for years and rallied the afflicted to push for answers and redress. "Two small voices" brought down this monstrous machine of men, money, and power.

Surprised me

I was sure this movie would be embarrassing for me to watch and full of clichés, artificial angst and lonely seriousness. The story captured me slowly and subtly as I surprised myself by understanding and relating to the differences in the passions and motivations of the characters. While the tensions and suspicions between Anneken and Goldrich developed and transformed, I could see through the outside efforts into the hearts of these two characters, into multi-levels and conflicts within. Seriousness is balanced with a bit of humor, although I thought there could have been additional humorous scenes inserted. Two Voices is not one-sided, and the story consistently exposes our efforts to be free amidst difference. Is that a cliché?
