Lazarus rises at Arclight
Mark Lazarus is departing as a drama investment manager at Screen Australia to join Arclight Films as head of creative and acquisitions in Australia.

He succeeds Michael Wrenn, who joined Arclight in 2012 as a consultant and is pursuing his own projects including Ben Elton.s The Wiggles- Pandamonium!, Eron Sheean.s End of Animal and Stephan Elliott's Madams, co-produced with Julie Ryan, based on the true story of two Australian con-women who took on the British "horsey". set and nearly got away with it. Arclight. reps The Wiggles movie and Madams internationally. .

Wrenn is also Ep on Gillian Armstrong's recently completed documentary Women He's Undressed, a behind-the-scenes look at the Australian Oscar-winning costume designer Orry-Kelly.

Priscilla has biggest cultural impact of films released 1993-97: Screen Aus
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert has had the greatest cultural impact of any local film released between 1993-1997, according to a new analysis by Screen Australia.

The report, Staying Power: The enduring footprint of Australian film, ranked almost 100 films' longevity by assessing their: primary release, revenues, ongoing access by audiences, acclaim and wider impact.

The report highlighted 20 films that had a domestic box office greater than $2.5 million and/or achieved an international release in 10 countries or more. Aside from Priscilla, the other films assessed were: Angel Baby, Babe, Bad Boy Bubby, The Castle, Children of the Revolution, Cosi, Country Life, Dating the Enemy, Kiss or Kill, Lightning Jack, Muriel's Wedding, Napolean, Paradise Road, The Piano, Reckless Kelly, Shine, Sirens, The Sum of Us, and The Wiggles Movie.

Pop princess Kylie Minogue has been named the second richest Australian entertainer - beating Hollywood stars Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and Cate Blanchett, but losing to kids TV moguls The Wiggles.

The tots' sensations have claimed the top spot on Business Review Week's annual poll for the fourth year running, earning Aus$45 million (Us$36 million/GBP20 million) between June 2007 and June 2008.

Minogue earned Aus$40 million (Us$32.8 million/GBP17.7 million). Crowe and Jackman landed in third and fourth places with Aus$36 million (Us$28.9 million/GBP16.5 million) and Aus$25.0 million(Us$20/GBP11 million) respectively. Children's group Hi-5 were fifth, ahead of Cate Blanchett and country rocker Keith Urban, who were sixth and seventh.

Hollywood star Nicole Kidman has been knocked off the top of Australia's rich list - by children's entertainment troupe The Wiggles. The musical quartet - who have garnered millions of fans around the world with their fun-filled TV shows - earned a massive $34.9 million in 2004 from the sale of CDs, videos and other merchandise. The Wiggles' phenomenal rise to prominence has forced Moulin Rouge and The Interpreter star Kidman into second place on BRW magazine's list, with a 12 month salary totaling $30.8 million.
