Not what I was expecting but sat throught it anyway.

Not for the faint of heart. I've seen Trainspotting numerous times but this far surpasses it. If you've ever thought about taking drugs(I'll just try it once}, this should stop you dead in your tracks. Very claustrophobic and highly instense and definitely gets the meaning across. I felt a range of emotions as I watched this movie; from depressed to hopeful to I don't know what. Great snake tattoo.

    Intense, sometimes klunky, but memorable.

It's been a few years since I have seen this film, but the images still stick with me. An intense psychological drama, the film explores the harrowing weekend when two heroin addicts attempt to kick their habit. The film is claustrophobic - the couple have boarded themselves into their basement apartment. The mood is stifling and constrained, allowing the audience to feel the intensity and desperation the characters experience.

There are occasional pretentious scenes where the male lead reads French philosophy aloud. One can't help laughing, but I don't think we're supposed to. If you can get beyond this silliness, you won't be disappointed. I found "H" much more intense and grim than "High Art".

Intense! Perfectly Written and Directed! The acting is outstanding.

This is an amazing film. Two junkies lock themselves in their house to go through "cold turkey". What unfolds is both deeply personal, and very moving. Pascale Montipete is amazing!! The weakest link though is Martin Neufeld.

Snake tells Michelle that "In England around the 16th Century, there was a man who tried to blow up the parliament buildings for his god, because that's what he believed in. Unfortunately, they caught him and they burnt him at the stake". In fact, the Gunpowder Plot took place in 1605 and Guy Fawkes was hung, drawn and quartered.

Michele: What time is it? It's too late, too late for work. Snake, make my hit for me!

      Snake: No.

Michele: Too lousy to even... is it ready yet? What are you doing? Where's my hit, Snake?

      [seeing the door boarded up]

Michele: Christ! What the fuck is this? What have you done? What have you done to the door? And the windows? Look, I don't have time for this shit, where's my hit?

      Snake: Flusssshhh...!

      Michele: What?

      Snake: I flushed it.

      Michele: Are you crazy?

      Snake: We're kickin'.

Michele: No! You may be. But I'm not. You're high aren't you? You mean, you get your last hit and I don't get mine? Fuck this!

[she finds the stash box empty]

Michele: Shit! You really did it. Come on, Snake! You've got to have something. Anything.

      [she starts a frantic search]

      Michele: .

Snake: I told you. It's all gone.
