Early Stephen Chow worth checking out

This movie is really just a bit of fluff but it's worth checking out if you are a hardcore Stepehen Chow fan as it was his first major role in a Hong Kong motion picture, and he does a pretty good job. He also was presented with a Taiwan Golden Horse award for his acting in this supporting role.

The plot circles around a rogue cop (Played by Danny Lee, surprised?)who is trying to bust four gangsters who are causing trouble in Hong Kong. The film features the cast of John Woo's hit film "The Killer" minus Chow Yun Fat. The action is lite and fairly minimal but the Characters are fun and make the film at least moderately enjoyable. If your bored and want to watch a decent HK cop movie, or a hardcore Stephen Chow or Danny Lee fan then give this film a try.

Never boring

Parkman Wong's Final Justice seems to take a lot of cues from the works of John Woo and Ringo Lam, unsurprisingly he has worked with both hence the similarity in style and action. Final Justice pairs the likes of the always reliable Danny Lee with a then up-and-coming Stephen Chow, in his film debut and in a performance that earned him a Golden Horse Award. The duo hit it off, resulting in an onscreen friendship that more than carries the film through its weaker moments. Even then, the weaker moments aren't too distracting in the long run as it's a highly enjoyable affair with an abundance of action that feels appropriated from Wong's inspirations. Plenty of slow motion, fierce shootouts and some rather scaled-back violence let Wong's direction shine amid the carnage. Combined with the awesome synth score by The Melody Bank and the short running time means that Final Justice never outstays its welcome despite its formulaic standing.
