Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff were two of the biggest horror stars of the '30s and '40s, and they starred in many great films together. Lugosi and Karloff made names for themselves playing a host of monsters during the Universal Classic Monsters cycle, and their iconic turns as Dracula and Frankenstein solidified the characters in popular culture forever. Even outside their roles as ghouls, the two made for perfect opposites to one another, and their supposed off-screen rivalry added intrigue to the movies that they made together over the years. Bill Pitman, Guitarist in the Wrecking Crew, Dead at 102

Bill Pitman, a guitarist and bassist in the legendary Wrecking Crew of Los Angeles session musicians, has died at the age of 102.

The New York Times confirmed Pitman died Thursday at his home in La Quinta, California. While no cause of death was revealed, the musician recently fractured his spine in a fall, and spent the last month of his life recovering from that accident.

As a member of the elite Wrecking Crew, Pitman was deployed on albums by artists like Sam Cooke, Nancy Sinatra, the Monkees, James Brown, and the Beach Boys.

CNN’s Brooke Baldwin is on the mend after suffering through the coronavirus and told Ellen DeGeneres that she’s at “maybe 90%” of her usual self.

“I feel solid. I feel like maybe 90%,” Baldwin said during DeGeneres’ Monday show, adding that she knew she was doing better when she was able to walk to the Brooklyn Bridge. “I’m so much better.”

Baldwin, who tested positive for the coronavirus back in April, is seen in a video flinching as a medical professional put a swab deep up her nose.
