Jeremy Renner has an acting career that spans over two decades with film credits that include Oscar-winning works like "The Hurt Locker" and the beloved Avengers movie franchise. Renner began working on screen in the mid-1990s and made his debut in 1995's "National Lampoon's Senior Trip." For the next 10 years, Renner had supporting roles in various films and TV shows, notably "S.W.A.T" and 2007's "28 Weeks Later."
He arguably became a household name following his role as Sergeant First Class William James in Kathryn Bigelow's "The Hurt Locker," which earned him an Oscar nomination for best actor. Most recently, Renner is known for his portrayal of Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Mike McLusky on Paramount+'s "Mayor of Kingstown."
Outside of his prolific career, though, Renner has maintained a private personal life, including his romances. In 2012, Renner told The Hollywood Reporter, "I want my personal life to be personal.

George R. Robertson, who played Chief Hurst (later Commissioner) in the first six Police Academy films during a half-century screen career, has died. He was 89. His family said he died January 29 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto but did not give other details.
Robertson had been working in TV and films for nearly 15 years when he was cast as the strict but fair Chief Henry Hurst in Police Academy, the 1984 cop farce starring Steve Guttenberg. The film was a left-field hit and went on to spawn a franchise that spanned seven films during the next decade, including one a year through 1989. He appeared in the first six but not the Moscow-set final one in 1994.

George R. Robertson, the Canadian actor who portrayed the police chief and later police commissioner Henry Hurst in the first six Police Academy films, has died. He was 89.
Robertson died Sunday at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, his family announced.
Robertson also showed up in small roles in three films that were nominated for the best picture Oscar — Airport (1970), Norma Rae (1979) and JFK (1991) — and portrayed vice president Dick Cheney in the 2006 ABC miniseries The Path to 9/11.
Robertson appeared as Hurst in 1994 in the first Police Academy movie, directed by Hugh Wilson, and stuck around through Police Academy 6: City Under Siege (1989). His character grows more tolerant of the wacky recruits led by Commandant Lassard (George Gaynes) as the franchise moves along.

It’s been 40 years since the release of “National Lampoon’s Animal House.” That means “Animal House” is older now than the events of “Animal House” were when “Animal House” came out. It’s part of our history now, along with “National Lampoon’s Vacation” and “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” Each of these films are considered comedy classics, or at least extremely influential, because of their eagerness and skill at capturing an idea of America — both the country and its culture — that we think is real, but never existed, and possibly never should have.
But these are just the best-known “National Lampoon” movies. The brand has been used on many motion picture comedies over the years, including many theatrical releases and more straight-to-video schlock than most people realize. With the 40th anniversary of “Animal House” on the horizon, and the 35th anniversary of “Vacation” the same week, we’re...

This week, Jeremy Renner is an airhead, Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis face off in an election, and Spike Lee and Mookie return to Brooklyn.
Check out all of this week's pairing on Double Feature Friday!
"The Bourne Legacy" & "National Lampoon's Senior Trip"
What better way to prepare for the latest offerings from Jeremy Renner than to go back to the very first film that he ever made! There is little that I can say that would convince you that this is a film worth watching better than the trailer below.
"The Campaign" & "Election"
When Alexander Payne entered the world of high school elections, he created one of the most twisted and hilarious comedies of the 90s. In it, Reese Witherspoon plays the immediately iconic Tracy Flick, a busy body who is determined to win the election for class president. Opposite her is Matthew Broderick as Jim McAllister, a teacher...

This two-time Oscar nominee has established himself as a major action star over the last few years and now takes over the ass-kicking spy role in The Bourne Legacy. Here are five things you may not know about Jeremy Renner.
1. His first movie was the 1995 comedy Senior Trip, but his first significant role came in 2002, when he played notorious killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the biopic Dahmer.

2. Says he only had $200 in his bank account when he signed a contract in 2003 for his first studio movie S.W.A.T., so he took the contract to the bank to get a loan to help purchase his first home.
3. Has a thing for karaoke. "I used to hang out at karaoke bars all the time. It was the most fun you could have when you had no money," he told Esquire magazine.

The Bourne Legacy
Written by Tony Gilroy and Dan Gilroy
Directed by Tony Gilroy
USA, 2012
Jeremy Renner has been tearing it up as of late. From being an Avenger to risking life and limb alongside Tom Cruise, his action career has really shot off (though I will always know him as the slacker from National Lampoon’s Senior Trip). Shooting even farther, Renner takes over from where Matt Damon left off, and continues the always exciting Bourne series. And if there is anybody capable of running with the Bourne torch, it’s Jeremy.
Synopsis via IMDb:
Aaron Cross, a new hero, experiences life-or-death stakes that have been triggered by previous events.

In this weekend's "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," Jeremy Renner plays an overqualified Imf analyst; but it wasn't long ago that the Academy Award nominee was making his film debut as an underachieving student in the long-forgotten '90s comedy "National Lampoon's Senior Trip."
Renner's interest in acting blossomed relatively late, when the California native decided to pursue a double major in theater and psychology at Modesto Junior College. Shortly after graduation, Renner made his way to Los Angeles to parlay his passion into a career. His first opportunity came via the play "Search and Destroy," which earned him early buzz from critics. From there, Renner jumped into his first film role at the tender age of 24 with "Senior Trip."
In the critically reviled 1995 teen comedy, Renner costars as Mark "Dags" D'Agastino, a perpetually stoned, flannel-wearing high school senior who, along with his obnoxious classmates, heads to Washington D.C.

Jeremy Renner (who is up for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in The Town) got his cinematic acting career started as Mark “Dags” D’Agastino in National Lampoon’S Senior Trip, and while most people think that The Hurt Locker was the actor’s breakout role, it was actually his turn as the titular serial killer in Dahmer that got him attention—and helped him land later parts in S.W.A.T., North Country and 28 Weeks Later. Here are Renner’s thoughts on Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s follow-up and the character he played in the well-received sequel.

You might not know it yet, but Victoria Summer can do a little bit of everything.
A multitalented performer born in southeast England's bucolic Berkshire County, Summer trained as a dancer, a singer and an actress before landing her first movie role in 2008's The Zombie Diaries. She'll soon be starring in the upcoming film Dracula Reborn, a contemporary look at the classic tale by Bram Stoker. And although she's always loved scary movies, Summer didn't start out wanting to be one of the Count's bloody celluloid brides. Her heart belonged to the stage.
Summer started performing as a toddler. She began dance classes at age 3 and moved on to piano and acting lessons a few years later. "My acting debut was the lead in my Junior school Christmas concert. I was about 6 and I had a lot of lines," Summer remembers. "I went on to play an even bigger role in Senior school,...

Noah Emmerich makes a terrific sidekick. He has played Jim Carrey's devious cohort (The Truman Show), Jim Caviezel's understanding best friend (Frequency), and Kurt Russell's kindhearted assistant (Miracle). But in Pride and Glory, opening next week, Emmerich is nobody's buddy. In the film's tight-knit family of New York City cops — with the patriarch played by Oscar winner Jon Voight, his son-in-law by Colin Farrell, and his youngest son by Edward Norton — Emmerich is Francis Jr., the eldest son, caught in a web of police corruption. It's a plum role, and even Emmerich couldn't believe it when writer-director Gavin O'Connor offered it to him, despite his having appeared in both of the filmmaker's previous movies, Tumbleweeds and Miracle. "I read the script and was like, 'Oh my God, this is a starring role,'" Emmerich recalls. "I asked him, 'Are you sure you want me for this?'...
