Every month comes and every month this article demands to be written. It’s a tragic, inescapable fact that movies leave streaming services all the time, but it’s a privilege to be able to inform you when their number is up. I well up every time. No joke. I put a box of Kleenex on standby. Honest.

It goes without saying that the pandemic is keeping everyone stuck inside with little to do besides watch television, play video games, and read. Here’s some great news, though: There’s plenty coming to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and Amazon Prime in May, so put away the books and the games, and get ready to binge some excellent shows and films.

On Netflix, you can catch some notable comedy entries next month like the Jim Carrey-led Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Fun with Dick and Jane, while action-horror fans may be delighted to hear that multiple Underworld films will be dropping on the service. The lesser-known Jarhead trilogy will be available on the 1st, and the first two pics in the Back to the Future trilogy will join the third film for streaming. About a month has gone by since last we told you about the new sliver of Sasquatchploitation coming our way known as Night Claws. This flick sounded like nothing short of chicken-fried gold, and now there are even more reasons to get excited!

God willing the wait to answer that question won't be too long. Maybe you don't share my enthusiasm, but as a man with an unabashed soft spot for killer Bigfoot movies, the works of David and Ted Prior's Action International Pictures output, and several of the names announced for the cast, Night Claws is already high on my must-see list.

I'm sure there are many of you out there wishing lightning really would strike and electrocute the Sci-Fi Channel - or at least some of its executives. I'm afraid that is not what this headline is about. It's a reference to a new original movie in the works over at Sci-Fi titled Lightning Strikes, about a paranormal creature lurking within the lightning that's holding a town hostage.

Some of you may recognize the name David A. Prior. For those that do not, he's been around since the 1980's making all manner B-movies, primarily of the direct-to-video variety, often starring his buff brother Ted Prior.
