Richard Dean Anderson is television royalty, beginning with his first high-profile gig on "General Hospital" in 1976. He played Dr. Jeff Webber on that series, appearing in a whopping 611 episodes over five years. He also had leading roles on the short-lived shows "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" and "Emerald Point N.A.S." before landing the lead on the hit spy series "MacGyver" in 1985. That show lasted for seven seasons and 139 episodes, cementing Anderson as one of TV's most reliable leading men. Other viewers likely know Anderson as Jack O'Neil, the military tough-guy from the long-running series "Stargate Sg-1." He played the role...

‘Diablo IV’ Brings Back Mercenaries as Part of “Vessel of Hatred” Expansion [Trailer]
Marker (1995)
First introduced in Diablo II, Blizzard has decided to bring back the feature of hiring mercenaries for their upcoming Diablo IV expansion, “Vessel of Hatred”. The trailer that debuted at Gamescom features a glimpse at the types of mercenaries you’ll be able to hire for your quest, including a literal demon.

Each mercenary is unique in the role they serve and comes with their own backstory, personality, and skills. They also have their own skill trees with a variety of choices that make them more supportive, combat focused, or a mix. Mercenaries can be enlisted as Reinforcements, periodically coming to your aid to perform attacks.

You have four mercenaries to choose from with Vessel of Hatred:

Raheir – Born to the lawless and rough streets of Gea Kul and trained by the Iron Wolves Varyana – Former cannibal who left her tribe when they started dealing with darker forces; butcher by trade turned mercenary Aldkin – Half-child,...

Xbox Event Impressions
When the Xbox One was unveiled, I was disappointed. The focus on TV, Sports, and German Shepherds greatly decreased any building excitement I had for Microsoft's next gen console.  I have accepted the impending death of used games and the rise of the always online requirement (competitive businesses usually adapt the same strategies... my guess is Sony will soon follow). But it is still disappointing.

But then Microsoft wowed me as much as I hoped when their focus on games took the forefront at today's media briefing. I really enjoyed what they had to show.

Before we get started, one thing I will say is I think that they need to put the people playing the game not on the stage, maybe have them play backstage. It looks awkward and takes me out of the presentation.

Okay now to the good stuff...

Dark Souls 2- We've already seen a good amount from this game.

Frontline (1983)
This Week In Trailers: The Last Rites Of Joe May, Island, Behind The Walls (Derriere Les Murs), Becoming Chaz, Blood In The Mobile
Frontline (1983)
Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: I celebrate all levels of trailers and hopefully this column will satisfactorily give you a baseline of what beta wave I’m operating on, because what better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? Some of the best authors will tell you that writing a short story is a lot harder than writing a long one, that you have to weigh every sentence. What better medium to see how this theory plays itself out beyond that than with movie trailers? Becoming Chaz Trailer Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato are the film equivalent of sociological documentarians. If ever there was a duo who have damn well...
