An hour into its upfront presentation, Fox threw a hail mary.

The network teased that it was working with Super Bowl champion Tom Brady on an unscripted series.

Charlie Collier, CEO of Fox Entertainment revealed that it was working with Brady but didn’t give any more details. “We also have an unscripted project with Tom Brady, yes, that Tom Brady,” he said.

We’re hearing that the project might be produced by Love Is Blind and Married At First Sight producer Kinetic Content.

The show will likely be produced by Brady’s own production company 199 Productions, which Deadline revealed in March 2020.

It comes on the back of Brady’s latest Super Bowl win with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his seventh win.

Truly Original, the Banijay-backed producer behind the Ink Master and Swamp People franchises, has been dipping its toes into new areas of unscripted television with a remake of a British panel show for The CW and is now working on a hybrid animated series.

Glenda Hersh and Steven Weinstock, Co-Presidents and Co-CEOs of the company, which also produces The Real Housewives of Atlanta, told Deadline that they have received a pilot order from one of the broadcast networks for a new type of unscripted format.

It marks the latest producer to move into this new area after Kids Say The Darndest Things exec producer Eric Schotz told Deadline that it was developing a mix of non-scripted comedy entertainment and animation – a genre that was previously unaffordable in the non-scripted world.

San Francisco, March 3 (Ians) After launching the GameOn app on Android devices back in November 2020, Amazon has expanded the mobile streaming-centric app for iOS users.

Amazon GameOn is a free app that lets users record short clips (anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes of content) of gameplay from a variety of titles that support screen recording capture, TechCrunch reported on Tuesday.

Users can screen record these clips directly into the GameOn library at which point they can add commentary or additional edits before publishing to the GameOn platform or sharing links to the platform on other sites.

The GameOn platform is interestingly fully disconnected from Twitch with separate branding and different channels, the report said.

Amazon has been partnering with streamers to wholly focus on mobile gaming while promoting challenges unique to the app, it added.

Netflix will take viewers back to Virgin River in 2021, the streamer announced Friday.

Production has already been underway for a while, so we can probably expect a late 2021 premiere again for the series.

CBS got decent numbers from the premiere of competition series Tough As Nails Wednesday night, leading the broadcast networks in both adults 18-49 and total viewers.

Tough As Nails, hosted by The Amazing Race's Phil Keoghan, averaged a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.07 million viewers over its two hours. It lost some viewers in its second hour, going from 4.2 million to 3.94 million, but it held steady in the 18-49 demographic and improved a little among adults 25-54.

Spanish-language network Univision topped the broadcast ratings in the adults 18-49 demographic for the third straight week Wednesday, while CBS' Game On snagged the top individual demo number in primetime. 

Univision's novelas Te Doy La Vida, Amor Eterno and Como Tü No Hay Dos all scored 0.5 ratings among adults 18-49. The latter two topped the 9 and 10 o'clock hours in the key ad demographic. Univision has led the past three Wednesdays outright in primetime and tied for the top spot June 10.

CBS' Game On was Wednesday's top original show on the broadcast networks, but the night was once again soft across the board. Univision snagged the top spot in the key ad demo across primetime.

Game On posted a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49, up slightly from 0.5 last week, and 3.35 million viewers (off by about 170,000 people week-to-week). That was good enough to lead the handful of original shows on the networks in both measures, though a rerun of NBC's Chicago Med topped broadcast in total viewers with 3.82 million.

It was a Wednesday night of comic book heroes on ABC with the Season 7 premiere of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The superhero series kicked off its final season delivering a 0.4 in the adults 18-49 demographic and 1.93 million viewers, staying on par with last season’s averages. The network primed the Marvel Cinematic Universe pump with its “Wonderful World of Disney” presentation of Thor: Dark World, which was down from last week’s airing of Moana.

Coming in with a 0.4 rating amid viewers aged 18-49 and just under 2 million total viewers, the “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” season 7 premiere was pretty much even on the season 6 finale from last year. For comparison, the season 6 premiere drew 2.3 million viewers. Earlier in the night, ABC’s airing of “Thor: The Dark World” hammered out a 0.5 rating and 2.6 million viewers.

Wednesday’s primetime TV ratings were rough, even with a new series (“Game On!”) debuting on CBS and the final season premiere of “Marvel’s Agents of Shield” on ABC.

There were lots of ties on the late-May evening, and a whole bunch of low Nielsen numbers.

NBC, ABC and Fox tied for first in ratings, each with a 0.5 rating/3 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. NBC was first in total viewers with an average of 3.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. ABC was third in total viewers with 2.4 million, Fox was fourth with 1.9 million.

While you may be right to assume these networks will air more reruns this summer that usual, they will also bring you some new content in June, July and August.

Before productions were halted and delayed across the country, filming wrapped on several TV series — both scripted and unscripted — that will be filling broadcast’s primetime slots between encores this summer. There’s also a few shows that networks had in the can before shutdowns that will be held until the fall, which we’ve noted below.

April 29, 2020: CBS has dated two of its newest reality series, Keegan-Michael Key-hosted Game On! and Phil Keoghan’s Tough As Nails but has pushed back the upcoming season of The Amazing Race.

Game On!, a remake of British entertainment format A League of their Own, which was previously hosted for Sky by James Corden, will launch on Wednesday May 20 at 8pm.

Hard grafting competition series Tough As Nails will then follow on Wednesday July 8 at 9pm. The show, which celebrates everyday Americans who roll up their sleeves and don’t think twice about working long hard hours and getting their hands dirty, will run after the season finale of Game On!

Remember how “The Amazing Race 32” was going to premiere next month? Just kidding. That’s not happening anymore.

Originally slated to take over “Survivor’s” Wednesdays-at-8 timeslot on May 20, “The Amazing Race” will now premiere later in 2020, with no date specified, CBS announced Wednesday.

Season 32 was filmed in November and December 2018, so the show will be coming up on a two-year gap between production and premiere by the time it airs. Last June, host Phil Keoghan told to Gold Derby that the season, which he teased as “back to basics,” was in post-production.

The postponement also takes “The Amazing Race” out of the Emmys for the first time since the Best Competition Program category was created in 2003. A 10-time champ, it most recently won in 2014.

The hit reality series was set to return Wednesday, May 20, but has been bumped to later in the year by the network.

While no reason for the delay was given, the network likely wants to keep the series in case it has little to no shows ready for the fall.

With the coronavirus-induced shutdown continuing, there's a good chance of that happening.

Still, it's unfortunate for fans of the series who have been waiting for the return of the reality series.

Rob Gronkowski, the All Pro tight end who retired in 2018 after winning three Super Bowls as the main target for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, is rejoining his former quarterback in Tampa Bay.

The popular Gronkowski, who retired at age 30, returns to the sport after he had been ramping up a career in Hollywood. He signed on as an NFL analyst for Fox Sports soon after he retired, was just unmasked as White Tiger in the current season of Fox’s The Masked Singer, and is part of CBS’ Game On! remake of James Corden’s UK reality competition series that is due to air this summer. CBS Entertainment’s senior vice president of alternative programming Sharon Vuong has exited the network, deciding to leave at the end of her contract on Friday.

Vuong was named to the position in April 2017 after spending six years in CBS’ alternative department, and was well-liked by colleagues and producers. In an internal memo, CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl shared the news with staff, calling Vuong an “invaluable member” of the network and a “guardian and shepherd” of its signature shows, such as “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race,” and “Big Brother.” He said Vuong is leaving to spend more time with her family: “While that often sounds like spin, in this case it’s absolutely true.”

In her own email to staff, Vuong called her exit “a very difficult decision,” expressing gratitude for her colleagues and their “dedication, infectious passion and hard work.”

Exclusive: Sharon Vuong, CBS Entertainment’s Svp Alternative Programming, has left the network after three years as head of unscripted and nine years at the network overall. Vuong’s contract was up, and she opted not to renew it. Her last day was Friday. No replacement has been named yet.

“Our incredible head of alternative, Sharon Vuong, informed Thom (Sherman) and me recently that she would be leaving when her contract expires this week.,” CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl wrote in an company memo last week. ”Sharon has been an invaluable member of CBS Entertainment, leading the alternative team with creativity, energy and a collaborative, talent-friendly style that our producers have always greatly appreciated.”
