Sicario (1994)

Trivia

Sicario

Edit
Official submission of Venezuela for the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category of the 68th Academy Awards in 1996.
Laureano Olivarez's debut. He was 14 years old during filming and the script required him to be fully nude and in four sex scenes with Eva Mondolfi, Tatiana Padrón and Melissa Ponce. From the filming, Olivares remembers -apart from the trouble he was put in by the scenes where he had to appear naked- an instruction Elia K. Schneider insistently gave him: "Acting cannot be superficial, you must immerse yourself in the character's life".
Although the film takes place in Medellin, Colombia, it was filmed in Caracas, Venezuela. "I'm not afraid that someone will go to see the film and say "that's such and such a part of Caracas", I don't really care about that, just as I don't care that suddenly if it's shown in Colombia they say "that's not Medellín". What interests me is to tell a story and to abstract myself a little from reality," director Joseph Novoa said.
Melissa Ponce's debut.
