Not all that bad if watched with the original

For two years this, and the original, sat on my shelf, because of the previous review. The movie isn't equal to the original, but it follows well enough.

Melinda Clarke, although not a top name actress, has been on screen plenty of times. She's a decent actress, and has model quality beauty (which she plays in the movie!).

The 'Fabio-wannabe' is a second rate actor. His counter part in the original was charismatic, where this guy is overly dramatic. His acting reminds me of a soap opera actor. A lot of this had to do with the director, blocking out cheesy scenes.

The sex scenes are not as racy, or as artistically done. Considering the nudity in the first, I was surprised that this lower budget version had much less, and didn't start until nearly 40 minutes into the film. They even had a 'wet t-shirt' moment available under the water fall, and didn't.

Overall, if watched back to back with the original, the continuity allows for a decent movie, with a decent story line. Watched all by itself though, there isn't enough quality directing or acting to say it was nearly as good.

I give it at least a 5.0 instead of the 2.2 it had. 2.2 is no acting, no directing, and no story - far from the case here.

boring and bland

Savannah Delongpre (Melinda Clarke) is a successful fashion model in NYC. She escapes the stress of her job and boyfriend Robert Lee to visit her grandma Belle (Louise Fletcher) in Georgia. She discovers that Belle had rented out Two Moon Junction and intends to discard the troublesome place. She finds artist Jake Gilbert living there. Gilbert claims that his grandfather was cheated out of the property. She starts out as combative and ends up in an affair with him. Belle tries to stop them with help from Robert Lee.

The set up in NYC is stupid and tiresome. The movie could have easily started coming off of the train. I hate to comment on Melinda Clarke's body type but she doesn't look like a fashion model. She's not a stick figure. I am amazed that Louise Fletcher returned for the sequel. John Clayton Schafer has no personality at all. Melinda Clarke doesn't have the same innocent persona as Sherilyn Fenn. In fact, she's kind of bitchy for most of the movie. The original doesn't have much and this one has even less.

I didn't hate it.

Drags on waaaay too long. Thin plot line and there are some continuity issues. Also, the casting for the male lead is not good enough in my opinion. This story really is a redemption arc for the grandmother (played again by Louise Fletcher) I appreciate Fletcher coming back for the continuity. The original is one of my most favorite films and this is just not on the same level. It's missing that romance, humor, sex appeal, and passion. Even though I think the sex scenes in this film are hotter.

Melinda Clarke, don't be embarrassed. You looked great.

And even though I wasn't into the male lead, he did fulfill his role physically except for going full frontal in the end like Richard Tyson in the original. He still gave us some sexy shots.

I adored the ending. I thought it was very touching. I think it's worth the watch once, especially if you are a fan of the original.

Zalman King should be outraged; Louise Fletcher should be ashamed!
