Possibly the best movie from Lea Pool.

A road movie, in a train. Across Canada.

A train. It's not easy to get it going, and once it's going, not easy to stop. You're stuck with people you don't know. You deal with a special routine while on trip. Desire happens to take the same path.

You have to deal with your feelings, someone who shuffles people things around, someone who wants to die, and someone who can read you easily. Yes, Catherine is beautiful. Everything goes too fast and too slow.

This is possibly Lea Pool's Finest movie, but for some reasons, it's really hard to get to watch it. Hopefully, this masterpiece with a wonderfully crafted soundtrack by Preisner will be released on DVD or Blu Ray one day and it will get the exposure it should have.

Wonderfully shot. You can't get it out of your mind. Especially after you've seen the part where Vincent and Catherine discuss under the Dome until dawn. The Sex scenes are beautiful and are kinda accessory. But this is Desire...

It's a crying shame such a great movie does not get proper exposure.

I saw the last two minutes of this movie almost ten years ago. I looked for a copy around all this time and found one two weeks ago.

It's a pure treasure.

Incredibly Romantic Movie

Nice to see a great Canadian film! This movie is one of the most romantic movies I have seen. The sex scenes were so tastefully done that you felt so happy that they were able to express the love and passion that they felt. The interaction between all of the major characters is quite believable. This is a must see movie if you are a romantic at heart.

A Believable Falling in Love- Step by Step

It is not easy to find this film, so if you have a chance to see it, you are a very lucky person.

I think I saw it at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and, while it was almost 20 years ago, I have never forgotten it.It is simply a kind of hour by hour look at two people who meet on a train and, over a week or so on the train, fall in love. It is just completely authentic, unassuming, and very affecting.

I don't know why this film and director Poole went so little noticed and unrewarded; of the thousands of films i have seen, this one stays in my conscience.
