The Real History of Cobra Kai

Cobra Kai Never Dies!

After Netflix acquired Cobra Kai from YouTube Red, it quickly became the #1 streaming show in America. The renewed interest has fans wondering what styles of Karate are portrayed in the series, just like they did back in the 80s when The Karate Kid first came out. Cobra Kai takes plenty of artistic liberties with its portrayals of martial arts training.

Nevertheless, as shocking as it sounds, there really was a Cobra Kai. And it didn’t preach “Strike Hard. Strike Fast. No Mercy.” In fact, it didn’t teach Karate at all.

The writer of The Karate Kid, Robert Mark Kamen, stated that the original film is loosely based upon his own experiences. Kamen claims he was jumped by some bullies at the 1964 World’s Fair in New York and the beating inspired him to take up the martial arts. His first sensei was a violent...

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 4 Will Likely Feature New Team Of Heroes
With the exception of the Avengers movies, of course, no Marvel Studios series has so far made it beyond three films. And while Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder will be breaking that trend when it touches down in 2022, the highly anticipated pic will bring with it some significant changes to the saga, such as a passing of the torch from Chris Hemsworth to Natalie Portman.

With that in mind, let’s shift gears to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. If director James Gunn’s recent comment on Instagram is any indication, then the team’s next outing will probably be his final entry in the cosmic superhero series. But while Gunn may be walking away from Star-Lord and co. after Vol. 3, that doesn’t mean the franchise itself is over.

Answering a question from a fan who asked if the threequel will be it for the series,...

Metal Gear Solid Director Shares Awesome Concept Art From The Movie
Jordan Vogt-Roberts is admirably dedicated to his Metal Gear Solid movie. The cinematic adaptation of Hideo Kojima’s beloved video game series has been in various stages of development for years, with the Kong: Skull Island director frequently updating fans via social media on what’s new with the project. Over the years, he’s shared pieces of concept art from the film, and this week he’s released a very cool new image showing off the pic’s nuclear-equipped walking death mobile: Metal Gear Rex.

This indicates that, as expected, the focus of his movie is the Shadow Moses Incident as seen in 1998’s Metal Gear Solid on the PlayStation. This would see legendary soldier Solid Snake infiltrating an Alaskan nuclear weapons disposal facility in order to prevent terrorists from launching a nuke. What’s actually transpiring there is a little more complicated, but let’s just say there...

Drax And Mantis Reportedly Getting Their Own Guardians Of The Galaxy Disney Plus Show
Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, and Dave Bautista in Les Gardiens de la Galaxie (2014)
Of all the Guardians of the Galaxy paraphernalia we could’ve asked for. Or wanted, for that matter. I am, of course (of course I am), talking about a new piece of intel we have regarding a potential Guardians spinoff.

According to sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us John Cena was playing Vin Diesel’s brother in Fast & Furious 9 and that Disney was doing a live-action remake of Bambi, both of which turned out to be correct – Drax and Mantis are getting their own Disney Plus TV show. Though originally planned as a spinoff movie, the project has now reportedly shifted into a series and will feature Drax searching for a daughter he believed to be dead, with Mantis tagging along for the ride (much in the way she does in the films).

It hasn’t officially entered development just yet,...
