Just Discovering Robby Hoffman? She’s Welcoming You to the Party

On June 5, the IndieWire Honors Spring 2025 ceremony will celebrate the creators and stars responsible for some of the most impressive and engaging work of this TV season. Curated and selected by IndieWire’s editorial team, IndieWire Honors is a celebration of the creators, artisans, and performers behind television well worth toasting. We’re showcasing their work with new interviews leading up to the Los Angeles event.

In the second episode of “Hacks” Season 4, the audience is introduced to Randi, the new assistant of dysfunctional managing duo Jimmy (Paul W. Downs) and Kayla (Meg Stalter). Even by the standards of the acclaimed Max sitcom, which lightly skewers the egos and neuroses of the Hollywood set, Randi is a capital “C” Character: a Brooklyn-accented former Hasidic-Jew-turned-lesbian-atheist who had never even seen a movie before she arrives at the offices of LuSaque & Schaefer.

It’s a part that could only be played by Robby Hoffman,...

Bidders Circling Hot Radio Silence & Paul Giamatti Package About Paranormal DJ Art Bell – The Dish
Image
Exclusive: We are hearing that Amazon and Warner Bros among others have put bids in for a pitch that’s been making rounds from the Radio Silence team with Paul Giamatti attached to star.

The pitch is a biopic about the late paranormal DJ Art Bell, who would broadcast his radio show from his home studio 65 miles west of Las Vegas, fielding unscreened telephone calls in a five-hour show on Knye-fm called Coast to Coast.

Guests would offer up eyewitness stories on Bell’s show about alien counters, past lives, time travel and more X-File-like situations. His 2018 New York Times obit noted that Bell claimed he and his wife spotted a “150-foot-long triangular craft” above their car one night before it disappeared.

In Coast to Coast‘s heyday in the 1990s, it would pull in around 10 million listeners.

Bell became an amateur radio operator at 13, served as an Air Force...

Alex Cooper Is Blowing Up: “I’m a Motherf***er When It Comes to Business”
Image
Alex Cooper knew she was taking a huge risk, but it was hardly the first time.

Since launching her megahit podcast, Call Her Daddy, six years ago, Cooper engineered her meteoric rise with a series of strategic moves — jumping ship from Barstool Sports to Spotify in 2019 (for $60 million) and then again to SiriusXM this year (for $125 million), becoming the most popular (and highest-paid) female podcaster in the world. Along the way, she’s evolved from presenting a bubbly character known for her salacious banter about sex and relationships into a media powerhouse who scores buzzy celebrity interviews and leads candid discussions centering on women’s issues.

Then Kamala Harris’ campaign called.

Alex Cooper

At first, Cooper was reluctant to interview the vice president, long having tried to project neutrality to her loyal young female listeners, known as the “Daddy Gang.” “Politics is something I’ve been very in-between on, and...

The Only Major Actors Still Alive From Rosemary's Baby
Image
Few horror movies are as fantastic or as retroactively controversial as "Rosemary's Baby." Decades after its release, what are we to make of a movie about a woman's bodily agency that was made by a man –- Roman Polanski –- who was later convicted of statutory rape? It's just one of several tricky questions that's elicited by any thorough look back at the film; in addition to Polanski's life story, both of the movie's surviving cast members (see below) have been embroiled in their own complex and traumatic situations in the years since the film debuted in 1968.

It's a tricky legacy for a phenomenal movie that works on the strengths of all involved, including a powerful young Mia Farrow, who turns Polanski's already-sharp take on Ira Levin's great book into something unforgettable. Most of the other actors who made the film a classic are gone now, including John Cassavettes...

The 10 Best Blockbuster Performances By Character Actors, Ranked
Image
This week marks the arrival of "Twisters" (read /Film's review), a sequel arriving nearly three decades after the original blockbuster hit "Twister." Because of how much time has elapsed between films, the cast for "Twisters" is entirely different. Although "Twisters," like its predecessor, boasts plenty of flashy special effects to create the sensation of powerful tornadoes popping up throughout Oklahoma as it tracks different groups of storm chasers trying to wrangle these bouts of Mother Nature's anger, the film doesn't quite live up to the secret weapon that "Twister" had: surprisingly committed character actors delivering better-than-needed supporting performances. But character actors popping up to steal the show in big-budget blockbusters isn't unique to "Twister" or its sequel, so let's rank the 10 best blockbuster performances by character actors.

There Was Never a Funnier Howard Stern Guest Than Richard Simmons
Image
Heaven gained a Weight Saint this weekend when Richard Simmons, 76, passed away from undisclosed causes. Simmons was a well-known fitness champion thanks to infomercials and a series of best-selling videotapes, but he truly gained fame thanks to his goofy appearances on talk and comedy shows. Simmons was a Late Night With David Letterman Hall of Famer, Whose Line Is It Anyway’s funniest improviser and a slam-dunk go-to guest on Howard Stern’s radio show for decades.

Stern devoted a section of his memoir Private Parts to “one of the greatest all-time nuts I’ve ever encountered.” That’s thanks to bits like Simmons showing up during one of Robin Quivers’ news segments dressed “in full nurse regalia, with fake nails, earrings, a beehive hairdo, the works. He then spent the rest of the show denying he was dressed like that. He did the same thing a few months later...

Paul Giamatti to play the villain in ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’
Image
Paul Giamatti is boldly going where no one from “Billions” has gone before: the “Star Trek” franchise.

The Oscar-nominated star of “The Holdovers” has boarded Paramount+’s upcoming series “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” in a major recurring role, Variety reports.

Per the trade, Giamatti will play the first season’s main villain, who has a “sinister connection” to one of Starfleet Academy’s cadets.

“Sometimes you’re lucky enough to discover that one of the greatest actors alive is also a huge ‘Star Trek’ fan, and meeting Paul was one of those miraculous moments for us,” co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau said in a statement. “The sheer delight with which he dove in on ‘Starfleet Academy’ is only surpassed by the gratitude we feel about him joining our incredible cast.”

Giamatti joins Oscar winner Holly Hunter in the cast. Hunter will be playing the captain and chancellor of Starfleet Academy,...

The Only Major Actors Still Alive From My Three Sons
Image
Despite being one of the longest-running live-action sitcoms of all time, you don't hear much about "My Three Sons" anymore. The series ran for an impressive 12 seasons beginning in 1960, producing 380 episodes of wholesome sitcom scenarios during a decade of tremendous upheaval. "The real world was quite tumultuous and revolution was in the air," star Barry Livingston told CBS News in a 2009 retrospective, "and we were still eating Uncle Charley's cookies and having milk."

"My Three Sons" doesn't have the enduring legacy of more thought-provoking shows of the '60s and '70s, like "M*A*S*H" and "The Twilight Zone," nor is it typically mentioned in the same breath as all-time-great comedies like "I Love Lucy" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show." Despite the show's absence from most abridged versions of TV history, though, it still connected with audiences in its time: the series about a widower raising three sons as a...

Santa Barbara Film Fest: Paul Giamatti Talks ‘The Holdovers,’ ‘Sideways’ and Everything in Between, Joking, “I’ve Played a Lot of Snakes, Haven’t I?”
Image
Adding to his awards season accolades, Paul Giamatti was honored with the Cinema Vanguard Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Wednesday, where he sat down for a conversation about his long career and journey to The Holdovers.

In a 75-minute chat moderated by The Hollywood Reporter‘s Scott Feinberg, Giamatti walked the Santa Barbara audience through his pivot from wanting to study primate anthropology to pursuing acting after his father died. He reflected on early roles in Private Parts, Planet of the Apes (“I was really disappointed I couldn’t play a gorilla. I was like, ‘I can’t be a gorilla, why not?’ They’re like, ‘You look more like an orangutan'”) and eventually American Splendor, where he said, “I remember at the time thinking, this is probably the first and last time I’m gonna lead [a movie] like this.”

Despite the critical success of that film,...

Wtf Happened to Private Parts?
Image
Howard Stern has been one of the most controversial – and revered – figures in the history of modern media. With a passion for the field as a child, Stern’s climb to the top of the radio world truly began in the ‘80s. And he did it off of his unique, button-pressing, FCC-clashing brand and humor: the boobs, the prank calls, the Wack Pack, all of it all made Howard Stern one of the most recognizable figures in all of media. And so as his markets grew and his written word topped the charts – but long before his first $500 million contract with Sirius – it was time for Stern to enter the movie business…with something a little more commercially viable than Butt Bongo Fiesta.

So how did the guy who mocked his wife’s miscarriage on the air and flipped the bird to nearly every boss he’s ever had...

Paul Giamatti Threatened His Agents Over Tim Burton's Planet Of The Apes
Image
One can't say much to defend the clunky script or the bad casting decisions for Tim Burton's 2001 film adaptation of Pierre Boulle's "Planet of the Apes." Not only did Burton's film alter the story of the original novel into something far less poignant, but Mark Wahlberg didn't project the "square-jawed space hero" archetype that his character was clearly written as. Estella Warren and Kris Kristofferson also didn't fare well as put-upon wilderness dwellers, coming across as dainty weekend warriors who had never been camping before.

Where Burton's film excels, however, is the ape design. The makeup effects by Rick Baker are some of the best in cinema history, looking eerily natural on the faces of previously recognizable actors. Additionally, the ape cast went through extensive movement training and their chimpanzee, gorilla, and orangutan body movements are impressive and convincing.

The ape cast also did its job with aplomb.

Porno for Pyros Celebrate a Christmas and Medical Miracle on New Song ‘Pete’s Dad’
Image
Porno for Pyros have shared a special new holiday tune, “Pete’s Dad,” about (as the title suggests) guitarist Peter Distefano’s father, who just beat cancer.

While the song’s pitter-patter drums and uncanny acoustic guitars occasionally veer into strange sonic spaces, “Pete’s Dad” is obviously big-hearted, tender, and even a little funny. The first verse finds frontman Perry Farrell, who is Jewish, singing about being welcomed into the Distefano’s family for Christmas, even crooning at one point, “Jews and Italians, they’re very much alike/I like Italian food.

Howard Stern Almost Played a Pivotal Role in 'A Star Is Born'
Image
Longtime radio host Howard Stern has a long list of accomplishments to his name. Beyond running The Howard Stern Show, his signature broadcast which has aired since 1986 between terrestrial radio and eventually SiriusXM satellite radio, he's also written multiple books, had a brief stint as a judge on America's Got Talent, and dabbled in television. As an actor, however, his experience is limited outside of Private Parts, the 1997 biographical comedy adaptation of his book of the same name in which he starred as himself. In an interview with Bradley Cooper on his show this morning, however, Stern revealed that he was in line for a major role in the actor/director's 2018 hit A Star Is Born.

Howard Stern Almost Played Sam Elliott’s Role In A Star Is Born
Image
Sam Elliott and Howard Stern might have more in common than you think: They’re both very tall, they’re both known for their distinct voices, and they were considered for the same role in Bradley Cooper‘s A Star Is Born. Cooper was a guest on Monday’s (November 27th) episode of The Howard Stern Show, and the radio host revealed that he declined playing Jackson’s older brother Bobby in the 2018 film before the part went to Elliott.

Via Billboard, the topic of A Star Is Born came up after Stern and Cooper — who are also close friends outside of the biz — discussed Cooper’s new Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro. Stern began praising Cooper’s musical capabilities, after which the radio personality said he still gets some flack for turning down a role Cooper had offered him in A Star Is Born.

“This was early-early things swimming in...

Big Fat Liar Showed Paul Giamatti's Comedic Genius
Image
Once upon a time, Hollywood did not take the talents of Paul Giamatti as seriously as we take them today. Though this Oscar-nominated actor has been working in Hollywood since the 1990s making appearances in hit films like Saving Private Ryan and The Truman Show, it wasn’t until the 2000s that audiences really began to see him for the leading man he would become. Prior to then, Giamatti was featured in comedic supporting roles in movies such as Private Parts and Big Momma’s House. However, it’s not until he took on the role of evil movie screenwriter-producer Marty Wolf in Big Fat Liar that audiences were given a true showcase of his talents.

Paul Giamatti Upstaged Howard Stern in His Most Underrated Performance
Image
Paul Giamatti is an actor's actor who can do it all. From his breakout performance in the 2004 dramedy Sideways to playing the titular role in the Primetime Emmy award-winning HBO miniseries John Adams, there's no role either too big or too eclectic for the versatile thespian. He's been killing it for the last 8 years as Chuck Rhoads Jr. in Billions for which he has also been nominated for a Critics Choice award. But the performance that we all stood up and took notice of was an unlikely one in which he played opposite the trailblazing radio shock jock Howard Stern. In 1997's Private Parts, Giamatti gets a juicy role as Kenny "Pig Vomit" Rushton and really upstages Stern, who stars in the film based on the true story of his meteoric rise to the top of the radio broadcasting world.

John Stamos Jokes That Bob Saget’s Cause of Death Was ‘Hot Ones’ Da Bomb Sauce (Video)
John Stamos
John Stamos faced the intensity of Da Bomb Beyond Insanity sauce on “Hot Ones” hosted by Sean Evans, and the “Full House” alum joked that the sauce killed his late costar Bob Saget.

“This is what killed Saget,” Stamos joked after struggling through the eighth sauce in the gauntlet. “He would do that joke if he was alive to me. He wouldn’t have waited a year and a half either. He would say the worst things.”

Saget died January 2022 of severe blunt head trauma from a fall in a Florida hotel room, though the exact circumstances of his death were never fully made public after his family won the right to keep autopsy details under seal.

Stamos recalled several memories with his “Full House” costar, including a trip to a strip club with the trio of guys — including Dave Coulier, who played Joey — where they were announced immediately upon entering the establishment.

Daniel Goldberg, ‘Space Jam’ and ‘Hangover’ Film Trilogy Producer, Dies at 74
Daniel Goldberg
Daniel Goldberg, the co-screenwriter of “Stripes” and producer of feature comedies like “Space Jam,” “Old School” and the “Hangover” trilogy, died Wednesday at age 74.

A frequent collaborator of directors Ivan Reitman and Todd Phillips and actor Bill Murray, who in addition to “Stripes” starred in the Goldberg co-penned “Meatballs,” Goldberg is survived by his wife, fellow Canadian film producer Ilona Herzberg, and his brother, “Deuce Bigalow” screenwriter Harris Goldberg. Per media reports, no cause of death was made public.

In a tribute for Deadline published Wednesday, Ivan Reitman’s son, filmmaker Jason Reitman, remembered Goldberg as “one of the kindest and most gentle souls I’ve ever known.”

Goldberg and Reitman first met in 1966 at McMaster University, where they went on to make several short films together (many of which starred a young “Schitt’s Creek” Emmy winner Eugene Levy) and cofounded a film society — not without kicking up some controversy,...

Jason Reitman Remembers Daniel Goldberg: “One Of The Kindest & Most Gentle Souls I’ve Ever Known”
Image
Director, producer and screenwriter Jason Reitman, son of director Ivan Reitman, is paying tribute to his late father’s dear friend, writer-producer Daniel Goldberg, who died today at 74. Goldberg was a writer and/or producer on several of Ivan Reitman’s films and a father figure to Jason. Here is his first-person remembrance.

Dan Goldberg is the writer and producer of some of your favorite films. He made a career of dangerous outsider comedies that often-challenged comfort zones, yet he was one of the kindest and most gentle souls I’ve ever known. This morning, he passed away in Los Angeles.

Dan and my father met at McMaster University in 1966. By the time they graduated, they founded a film society, made several short films with classmate Eugene Levy, and shot a short film that received national distribution. Additionally, they financed and completed a feature adaptation of My Secret Life, for...

How Andrea Riseborough Got That Surprise Oscar Nomination for ‘To Leslie’
Image
Up until a few weeks ago, most people had never heard of “To Leslie,” an indie film about a woman trying to rebuild her life while battling drug addiction and alcoholism. Now, the film’s star Andrea Riseborough is nominated for the Academy Award for best actress in a leading role.

So how did such a small film end up breaking in, seemingly at the last minute? Awards pundits wrongly assumed that the celeb-backed campaign, while noteworthy, was a little too late to make a nomination happen. It came down to support from the film community, Riseborough said Tuesday.

“The idea that you need endless resources, I don’t think that’s necessarily true,” Riseborough told Variety shortly after the Oscar noms were announced Tuesday morning. “The people who made sure of that is our community. It feels like the film community rallied around and made a noise.”

A campaign...

Anna Faris Reveals Identity Of Director She Had Accused Of Inappropriate Behavior On Set – Update
Image
Updated at 8:11 Am from 12:58 Am exclusive with Gavin Polone statement: Anna Faris has claimed that the late director Ivan Reitman inappropriately touched her on the set of their 2006 rom-com My Super Ex Girlfriend.

Speaking on her podcast Unqualified, the actress disclosed that Reitman “slapped my ass” during the production and on her first day “yelled” at her, leaving her feeling “angry, hurt and humiliated.”

During a candid conversation with actress and filmmaker Lena Dunham, Faris said: “One of my hardest film experiences was with Ivan Reitman. I mean, the idea of attempting to make a comedy under this, like, reign of terror, he was a yeller. He would bring down somebody every day…and my first day, it was me.”

During a wide-ranging discussion with Dunham about different behaviors on set, Faris said that she had to fight back tears during her turbulent first interaction with Reitman, who died in February,...

How Ghostbusters Director Ivan Reitman Changed Horror Movies Forever
Image
When Ivan Reitman passed away on Feb. 12, 2022 at the age of 75, the Canadian producer, director, and screenwriter was justifiably remembered as one of the driving forces of cinematic comedy for more than four decades. After all, he produced National Lampoon’s Animal House–one of the classic farces of its time–in 1978, before moving on to direct a string of other well-remembered entries in the genre, including Meatballs (1979), Stripes (1981), Twins (1988), Kindergarten Cop (1990), and Dave (1993), while producing films such as Space Jam (1996), Private Parts (1997), and Old School (2003).

Of course Reitman is best remembered for directing Ghostbusters, the seminal 1984 film that spawned a franchise and has influenced an entire subgenre, the horror comedy, ever since its release.

Ghostbusters wasn’t Reitman’s only foray into horror territory, however. His second feature film as a director was a low-budget horror comedy called Cannibal Girls (released in 1973 and starring Eugene Levy and Andrea Martin!

In Memoriam: Ivan Reitman, Director of ‘Ghostbusters,’ Dies at 75
Image
Chicago – He helmed some of the most beloved comedies of the last three decades of the 20th Century, including “Meatballs,” “Stripes,” “Twins” “Kindergarten Cop” and of course “Ghostbusters” (and its sequel). Ivan Reitman passed away on February 12th, 2022. He was age 75.

Reitman was born in Czechoslovakia, and moved with his family to Canada as a child. He graduated from McMasters University (Ontario) with a degree in music, but he also produced and directed several short films while there. After working in television and as a producer for stage he moved into film production. After producing a couple films for director David Cronenberg, he caught his big break as the producer of “Animal House” in 1978.

Sundance Review: Alan Cumming In Documentary ‘My Old School’
Image
Most kids wouldn’t want to endure high school twice, although there are some who would no doubt prefer to remain there forever. Brandon Lee chose a third path by re-enrolling when he was 32 years old and getting away with it, at least for a while. How it all happened is whimsically recounted in My Old School, a clever, amusing and rather slight account of a Scottish misfit’s most irregular education. Or, as Woody Allen used to describe himself, it’s “thin but fun.”

“The man at the heart of this story does not want to show his face. But you will hear his voice,” some narration declares early in the film, which debuted in the Premieres section of the just-wrapped Sundance Film Festival. The face you see instead is of that most nimble of actors, Alan Cumming, who, in...

Trailblazing director Betty Thomas will receive the DGA’s prestigious Robert B. Aldrich Award for her “extraordinary service to the guild and its members” at the 73rd Annual DGA Awards.

Veteran Upm Brian E. Frankish and longtime CBS operations’ associate director Joyce Thomas will receive special awards for their service to the guild and the industry. The awards show will be held on April 10, but the DGA isn’t saying yet whether it will be virtual or not.

All three recipients have long histories of service to the guild. Betty Thomas serves as the DGA’s secretary-treasurer – the guild’s second-highest elected officer.

“Betty means so much to our guild,” said DGA president Thomas Schlamme. “No matter how busy she’s been throughout her remarkable, ceiling-shattering directing career, she’s always placed service to her fellow members among her highest priorities, fighting for their creative and economic rights. Stream of the Day: Oliver Stone’s ‘Talk Radio’ Shows Impotent Rage Has Always Demanded an Outlet
Image
With readers turning to their home viewing options more than ever, this daily feature provides one new movie each day worth checking out on a major streaming platform.

Long before the immediacy of the internet and its attendant social media platforms, impotent rage and loose-lipped hatred had another home in America: talk radio. While the form itself isn’t dead — look no further than the continued popularity of everyone from Howard Stern to Glenn Beck — the world has many other more enticing outlets for emotional release. But the underlying desire for unfettered, rage-fueled outbursts remains, and Oliver Stone’s searing 1988 drama “Talk Radio” (sandwiched between his better-known hits “Wall Street” and “Born on the Fourth of July”) helps explain the market for unfiltered voices in whatever form they take.

The movie stars Eric Bogosian, who adapted his own stage play of the same name alongside Stone — and that history comes...

Famed Radio DJ Don Imus Dies At Age 79
Don Imus
Don Imus, one of the iconic radio morning DJs in New York radio history, died today this at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in College Station, TX. He was 79 and had been being hospitalized there since Christmas Eve.

For many years, Imus was a towering presence in New York, where he started in 1971 after being hired away from Cleveland, where it was clear he was onto something big. In his heyday, he spearheaded Wnbc and was a thorn in the side of Howard Stern, who put his reminiscences of the bitterness between them in the autobiographical 1997 film Private Parts. Imus defined the “shock jock” period, where certain irascible personalities flourished on the air.

Imus developed a coterie of characters he played, including the Right Reverend Billy Sol Hargus, Blind Mississippi White Boy, Pig Feets Dupree, Senator Edward Kennedy, Scott Muni and others. Imus appealed to the right audience, and...

Recommended New Books on Filmmaking: Making ‘Alien,’ Chantal Akerman, Analyzing ‘Peterloo’ & More
It’s summertime, and that means a roundup of film-related books must include some lighter fare—hence this column’s inclusion of reads about Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Alien, and Dungeons & Dragons. However, there is also a fascinating exploration of Mike Leigh’s underrated Peterloo and a memoir from the late Chantal Akerman. Plus, Howard Stern returns with a deep dive into his years of stunningly insightful celebrity interviews.

The Making of Alien by J.W. Rinzler (Titan Books)

J.W. Rinzler’s books on the original Star Wars trilogy rank among the finest making-ofs in recent decades. And few films are more befitting of the Rinzler treatment than Ridley Scott’s Alien. This beautifully designed text from Titan Books is bursting with illustrations and behind-the-scenes photos, as well as stories of the difficulties Scott faced making the film. There are also absurdly lovely details, like Harry Dean Stanton...

Howard Stern at an event for Crazy Love (2007)
‘Glow’ Star Jackie Tohn Talks About Her ‘Shallow’ Parody Triumph on Howard Stern Show
Howard Stern at an event for Crazy Love (2007)
Vying for the heart of Howard Stern co-host Robin Quivers isn’t for the weak. So “American Idol” alum Jackie Tohn, who stars in the Netflix wrestling comedy “Glow,” threw herself into the ring, recruiting Stern song parody veteran Eli Bradon for a pair of parodies that had Stern and his SiriusXM listeners in stitches.

Tohn’s two collaborations with Braden — raunchy love songs to Quivers set to Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s sultry duet of “Shallow” from “A Star is Born,” and a positively filthy take on Cher’s “Believe” — both received big praise from Stern, who said the “Shallow” duet, which encouraged Quivers to try hooking up with girls, gave him “chills.”

“Fred is tearing up right now,” he laughed.

Getting the song on the show, Tohn said, and having Stern give her a big plug was one of the “biggest highlights of my career,” she tells Variety.

Drive-In Dust Offs: Private Parts (1972)
The early ‘70s were really just the hung over ‘60s; idealism had turned to realism as Vietnam marched on and acid dreams turned to lysergic comedowns. And that cutting pall was definitely there in the mainstream culture; TV sitcoms like All in the Family took on bigotry and racism with a sharpened blade and cynical tongue. Meanwhile in the underground, transgressive art was alive and well and still hitting its marks; sordid, seedy, and sprinkled with a devious sense of humor, Paul Bartel’s feature length debut Private Parts (1972) tried to bring that sensibility above ground to an audience not quite ready for its peculiar charms.

Released in September by MGM (!), Private Parts never even received much of a chance to offend mom and pop, as the title prevented it from being advertised in several newspapers and it quickly faded away. Such would be the directorial course of much of Bartel’s career,...
