Trivia

Gridlock'd

Edit
According to producer Damian Jones, Tupac Shakur was also making music videos and recording music every day after filming. The producers convinced Shakur to cut back on his musical activities because his exhaustion was affecting his performance.
Vondie Curtis-Hall originally offered the part of Spoon to Laurence Fishburne. But Curtis-Hall could not afford Fishburne's salary. The part was also offered to Don Cheadle and Forest Whitaker.
According to Bokeem Woodbine, Tupac Shakur asked Lucy Liu for a date but she turned him down.
Bokeem Woodbine, who plays the character of Mud in this film, also appeared in one of Tupac Shakur's last filmed music videos, 2pac Feat. Danny Boy: I Ain't Mad at Cha (1996). Shakur and Woodbine became good friends during filming. Woodbine would go on to co-star in Classé sans suite (2018), a miniseries about the unsolved murders of Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G..
Released in January 1997, this was the second of three films starring Tupac Shakur that were released after his death in September 1996. Bullet (1996) Shakur's first posthumous film, premiered in theaters in October 1996, and Flics sans scrupules (1997), his final film, debuted in October 1997.
