A rainy day in Santa Barbara, and Jeff Bridges sits in his garage, wondering where his favourite spectacles have got to. We are in the middle of a rangy conversation on a video call, meandering our way from Bob Dylan to the anthropomorphism of bees, via Crazy Heart, Cutter’s Way and The Big Lebowski. There are sidetracks and double-backs and loose threads. Intermittently, an unseen assistant hands the actor pairs of glasses seemingly identical to the ones he is already wearing. Bridges, in a soft brown cardigan, inspects each pair and dismisses them. “Where was I?” he asks.

The garage here serves as Bridges’ jam space and ceramics workshop. He has drums set up for his grandson, and a picture of Captain Beefheart on the wall.

Indeed, Max is not the only service that is adding a few of last year’s best movies to its platform this month. Peacock is also set to host the long-awaited streaming premiere of one of 2024’s biggest, most financially successful and beloved blockbusters. On top of that, the platform has also brought more than a few iconic, timeless film classics into its fold in March, including one of Quentin Tarantino’s best movies and an underrated, often wrongly forgotten romance.

The first trailer for the Steve Buscemi-led black comedy Psycho Therapy: The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided to Write About a Serial Killer has been released. Directed by Turkish filmmaker Tolga Karaçelik in his English-language debut, the film follows John Magaro (Past Lives) as Keane, a writer whose crumbling marriage to Suzie (Britt Lower) is further complicated by his years-long struggle to complete a book about serial killers. His luck takes a bizarre turn when he meets Kollmick (Buscemi), an ex-murderer who offers to mentor him in the finer points of homicide.

The newly released trailer for Psycho Therapy shows things spiral further out of control when Suzie mistakes reformed serial killer Kollmick for their new marriage counselor (via Brainstorm Media). Psycho Therapy is set to premiere in New York theaters on April 4. The film will also star Ward Harton, Olli Haaskivi, and Lower's Severance co-star Sydney Cole Alexander.

Born in 1957, Hollywood actor John Turturro hails from Brooklyn, New York City. With a jazz singer mother, actor brother, and actress cousin, Turturro has been surrounded by the arts from a young age. His rise to prominence as an actor came with frequent collaborations with directors Spike Lee and the Coen brothers. Roles in films such as Do the Right Thing and The Big Lebowski have cemented Turturro as an incredibly talented, if underutilized, Hollywood talent.

Steve Buscemi joins Sam Rockwell in the cast of Martin McDonagh's upcoming movie Wild Horse Nine. One of the most prominent character actors in Hollywood, Buscemi has an impressive filmography, first shooting to fame with a supporting role in Quentin Tarantino's debut Reservoir Dogs. He later appeared in several hit movies, including Pulp Fiction, Con Air, The Big Lebowski, and Ghost World. With a strong body of work on television too, including a supporting role in The Sopranos and the lead role in Boardwalk Empire, Buscemi remains one of the most recognizable and iconic stars of film and TV.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Buscemi will replace Mark Ruffalo in Wild Horse Nine, and is also joined by Parker Posey and John Malkovich. The movie, which McDonagh will write and direct, is described as a darkly comedic drama, and will begin shooting later this month in Rapa Nui, aka Easter Island.

Steve Buscemi has joined the high-flying cast of Wild Horse Nine, a Searchlight feature being directed by Martin McDonagh. It is the filmmaker’s first feature since his acclaimed The Banshees of Inisherin.

Sam Rockwell, who starred in McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, as well as John Malkovich and Parker Posey are already in the saddle for the dark comedic drama that begins shooting later this month in Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island.

Plot and character details are being kept under wraps, but it is extremely rare that a production, let alone an American or British one, shoots on the island, which lies 3,700 kilometers off the coast of Chile and is one of the most remote, inhabited islands on Earth. It is also one of the rare areas not overrun by modern conveniences, as it is run by the Rapa Nui National Park.

John Goodman is recovering after being injured during the production of an upcoming, untitled Alejandro González Iñárritu movie for Warner Bros. and Legendary, starring Tom Cruise.

The actor “experienced a hip injury,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson said in a statement.

“He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover,” the statement continues. “The production resumes shooting next week following John’s full recovery.”

The film was not shooting when Goodman was injured.

The untitled movie, the first to emerge from Cruise’s new deal with Warner Bros. and the first English-language feature from Iñárritu since Leonardo DiCaprio starrer The Revenant nearly a decade ago, is set to hit theaters on Oct. 2, 2026, taking the release date originally occupied by the studio’s Batman sequel.

“Actor John Goodman experienced a hip injury,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson said in a statement. “He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover. The production resumes shooting next week following John’s full recovery.”

Variety exclusively reported in October that production for Iñárritu’s untitled project was to kick off in the U.K. in November. The film is the director’s first English-language movie since 2016’s “The Revenant,” which earned Leonardo DiCaprio his first and only Oscar. Iñárritu also serves as producer and penned the script with Sabina Berman and “Birdman” co-writers Nicolas Giacobone and Alexander Dinelaris. Plot details remain under wraps.

Universal’s “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy” continued its box office dominance in the U.K. and Ireland, bringing in £6.8 million ($8.7 million) in its second weekend, according to Comscore. The highly anticipated fourth installment in the “Bridget Jones” franchise has now reached $34.6 million, maintaining a firm grip on the No. 1 spot.

Disney’s “Captain America: Brave New World” remained in second place with $3.7 million in its second weekend, pushing its total to £13.21 million ($16.74 million).

Universal’s “Dog Man” stayed in third place, earning $2.5 million in its third weekend. The animated family hit has now amassed $13.9 million. While Hollywood typically has a good instinct for turning great films into box office gold, as seen with Marvel's Avengersmovies, this isn't always the case. Considering how much money can be spent on films and how much competition there is, it's always easy for great stories to get lost in the cracks, only to find new love later on. Some movies enjoy success in the home video market as word-of-mouth spreads, while others are only ever appreciated by a small minority.

While some box office flops earned their failure, others crashed and burned despite being among the best of their era. The 1990s in particular had no shortage of fantastic movies that didn't make a strong impression in theaters, but have since earned the respect of fans of their respective genres. From gritty crime movies to stylish Westerns, the decade proved even the best movies can struggle to fill up theaters.

One of our great character actors, John Turturro, is equally adept at at drama, comedy and tough-guy roles. A New York stage veteran, he made his way to Hollywood following a character actor’s path, but thanks to several influential mentors, his career soared as he appeared in film after film that would prove to become classics.

Although he continues to have a successful career in television — he is an Emmy winner from two nominations and has earned a Golden Globe nod and three Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for his TV work — I suspect that it will be for his work in film for which he will be most remembered, from small indelible roles in “Do the Right Thing” and “The Big Lebowski” to great leading parts, such as in the Coens’ “Barton Fink,” and “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

Jeff Bridges has tragically lost his family home in Malibu due to the raging wildfires continuing to sweep across Los Angeles.

The Oscar-winning actor’s rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday that the house his late parents bought decades ago, which he now shares with his family, was burned down in the Palisades Fire. The home was inherited by Bridges, his brother Beau Bridges and their sister, TMZ reported.

Still, while the CBS sitcom isn't generally known for its adults only content, it does know how to play naughty on occasion. In fact, one particular scene of the show got a little too frisky for British advertisers, and as a result, it was removed from the UK version of the episode in question (via The Mirror).

The scene takes place in "The Big Bang Theory" season 10, episode 7, titled "The Veracity Elasticity." It shows Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) in Bdsm gear, with the former chained to a St. Andrew's Cross. The shirtless Leonard is wearing a leather harness and a collar, while Penny is decked in a corset with a somewhat revealing neckline and a fetish cap.
