Excellent Show

This show is one of the few that I attempt to regularly tune into each week. I'm not a die hard fan analyzing every sentence/glance/breath of every character, but I certainly enjoy the show. A person who says this show has poor acting or poor character/plot development is most likely disappointed by every TV series and not being fair to the genre. This show says more with a moment of silence than most shows say in an hour of dialog. It is impossible for a show that has run as long as this one to dot every "i" and cross every "t", of course there will be holes. But by and large the show remains true to itself and at the top of it's genre. The acting and action are appropriate, the plot works well enough to be create a suspension of disbelief and the character development is the best I've witnessed from any long term series.

Thank you for creating a thoroughly entertaining show, I will miss it greatly after this season.

Wonderful, great action and more

One of the best action series of our time, no doubt about it. The advantage of the series over the movie is that the expanded time frame gives more room for character development and expanded plotlines without sacrificing the attention payed to details. Intricate plots and subplots, good round characters, action, romance... I'm very sorry to have seen this one end. Probably my favorite series next to BtvS and Angel. Try Alias if you like this.

The basis for Many other series

The storytelling, scenarios and sometimes just quotes can be found back in more recent series. 24, strike back, spooks and much more. And we are talking single episodes that were the basis for entire seasons of them.

This sometimes strange series has left it's mark for sure. What i find a pity is that it doesn't get more recognition.

It's a gem, and it went as sudden as it came. Incredible and worth every minute of your time.

The best t.v. show ever!!! If you liked Alias or 24, watch this....

La Femme Nikita was groundbreaking and would've been on a lot longer had it aired on a major network. This was really the first time a female was given a strong, intelligent starring role on a t.v. series. The writers/directors of this show have gone on to write and direct for the popular "24" starring Keifer Sutherland, and several actors from Nikita show up in "24". The technology used in the show was incredible for the time. The actors are all first rate and it's the characters in the show that keep you coming back. "Alias" was a direct ripoff of this series, but it wasn't nearly as well done as Nikita. The fan base for this show was huge, and still is even though it is no longer airing. Roy Dupuis (Michael) is a huge star in Canada and his take on the role is perfect. His minimalistic style is what you would expect from a member of the world's most covert anti-terrorism group. Peta Wilson (Nikita) is believable in her role, unlike many females in physical roles. All of the supporting actors are great and many have had vast and varied careers.

I loved it and started to hate it.

I recall watching "Nikita" with enthusiasm as a young man, how naive was I back then to what I am today.

Today I see the show as full of psychopaths and killers, it's unclear on whose authority they're even acting, and every episode a number of highly trained agents die basically for questionable reasons and objectives. Many die just because of faults or internal conflicts of the so-called 'sections', which is actually a pretty accurate reflection of what any governmental actions involving violence are usually resulting in.

The show lives of Peta Wilson, but her daily renewed styling like a supermodel in a dark secret spy unit is utmost implausible, just as her and "Michael"'s overacting with him as emotionally cold and hardened but still somehow 'loving' man and her as the 'wild beast' that also has tears in her eyes in every episode. It's a taste too much of everything to feel plausible. They see each other after being separated for years and don't even smile, let alone hug. The complete inability of pretty much everyone in the series to act like normal humans who are capable of speaking sentences longer than 5 words or showing a wider emotional range than a flatline with a few bumps in between made watching the series past Season 2 really challenging tbh. But I loved the concept, and it felt fresh and exciting until then.

Unique

It's a pity I watched this after 24, Alias, Covert Affairs and likes.

Along with most recent Nikita with Maggie Q, all of the above appear somewhat simplistic - if not amateurish - with compare to LFN.

So many story finds, characters etc. got copied by the later shows from LFN - it deprived me of enjoying the indisputable LFN novelty.

Yet, now, in 2013, the show is extremely addictive, rarely predictable, with jaw-wtf???-dropping twists and numerous cliffhangers.

I was googling for the "best spy TV show" lists and came across LFN. After watching 3 seasons I'm wondering how come it's not on top of every single list I found. Even my skeptical wife is into it, and coming from her, it means a lot. In fact, my own list would consist of LFN only (well, maybe 24, as a very distant 2nd).

Granted, most characters are over the top. Nikita, as Section's personified conscience. Michael, the coolest operative in existence, he never ever misses - respect! The devilish Siamese twins, Operations and Madeline. But that's how it always is with long running TV series and only adds to LFN's power.

Soundtracks are cool. Cheesy moments are so few - not worth mentioning.

Peta Wilson grows on you, and soon it's hard to imagine someone else in her place. What is it with Aussie girls in spy shows? They're the best...

Show starts a bit shaky - or so it seems, possibly, because it repeats well-known first turns of Nikita's fate, but then, before long, it takes on its own, grim and often unforeseeable road, you will never regret following.

Very stylish, very unusual fun & fireworks. 10 out of 10.

Excellent but......underrated

"Nikita" (1990) was very interesting. Luc Besson did a great job. "Point of No Return" (1993, American remake) was decent too. "Nikita" (2010-2013) was not my cup of tea. Just my own opinion.

This TV series is one of the best TV shows from the 90's. This version of Nikita is my favorite and always will be. Peta Wilson did a wonderfully great job. She was perfect! Roy Dupuis was stunning as Michael Samuelle. The whole cast was impressive - Don Francks as Walter, Matthew Ferguson as Birkoff, Alberta Watson as Madeline, Eugene Robert Glazer as Operations.....they all were amazing!! NO exaggeration here.

The story line and pacing were intriguing PLUS many intense/suspense moments. The series keeps getting better with every new season.

Brilliant series!!!

flawed and glitchy here and there but quite good overall ...

Ok, i'm more than a couple of decades too late doing it but i think i have to do this review:

we don't see action movies or tv series offering some deep emotional and beautiful romance uncontaminated with cheap commercialism everyday ... but this one has done a good job at that ... (even though the makers of this series did fall into that pit quite a number of times with at least one episode almost totally done for wardrobe showoff rather than good story ...)

the story's basis is really fine although its logic is highly erratic in many instances but the humanitarian message is so good and well put one can simply ignore the many shortcomings rampant all over ...

and that Nikita character / Pita Wilson supermodel actress ... WOW! what do we have here: an angel? a goddess? a brave queen-warrior with a heart of gold to die for as a self-sacrificing knight who believes in fighting for her in order to save humanity? or is she just an irresistible both-brain-and-flawless-beauty woman playing difficult roles professionally? i guess a combination of all that and more (for which i can't find proper words) is the better answer ... if it weren't for her exceptional beauty and near-perfect acting i wouldn't have binge-watched the entire 96 episodes almost non-stop as i'm not quite into action movies after all ... simply put, Pita 'Nikita' Wilson is PRICELESS! and that's why this series is well worth a keep in digital format or even DVD ...

Horrible

I'm more-or-less forced to watch this horrible show (with daily reruns on the local cable), and and can't see what people like about it. It has no heroes: everyone is a cold-blooded murderer / terrorist. The "counter-terrorism" of Section-One amounts to the same terrorism they say they battle, including wanton torture, executions and kidnapping (everyone in section one is basically kidnapped). Not to mention the fact that the psychopath called Operations pisses of the most deadly secret agents of the company on a daily basis and still seems to get away from it.

Add to this the bleary decor, the "whispering" that seems to be meant to indicate threat and the repetitive setup of each episode, and my abjection is complete.

What TV Shows should be like...!

I think this is one of the best written shows on television today! The creators of this series are really in-tune with what a tv "series" should be like. They are not afraid to have really good character development.

But each episode is also great on its own! They have got an incredible blend of character development and action and intrigue all blended together in each episode (granted with differing amounts in each episode).

The cast is truly amazing at creating the complex relationships (so that you never see the "same old" interactions all the time). And each episode delves a little deeper into at least one character (and not just the main one or two characters, but there are six relatively majorly developed characters).

Best TV show ever

This TV show is the best show ever, even after 20 years. The leading female character is so smart and sharp. The emotions of the characters are extremely well shown - the actors are incredible. Thank you to the creators of the show.

This is the best show on television

Some friends talked me into giving this show a try and I have never regretted it. This is as intelligent as television gets. Sure, you can watch and enjoy it just as what it is on the surface - a stylish spy action /drama crossover - but when you go beyond that, this is a show that dissects human morality and interpersonal relationships with a frightening precision. You never quite know what is right or wrong, who's lying and who's telling the truth, and just when you think you've figured out a character, another surprise is thrown at you. Plus the acting is just incredible - there isn't a weak link in this cast. If you're not afraid of a show that will challenge you, check out La Femme Nikita.

Superb Noir Highly Developed Characters

This series is unique. Unlike the banal witty dialog in all of today's action series...this one was quite different and pleasing. Finely emotionally nuanced so that communication takes place by a glance or a turn of the head. This series is the antidote for all other series where everything is conveyed via dialog and nothing by character development. An organization dedicated to public good, but using evil techniques. Are its principals evil themselves or simply amoral? Characters have everything money can buy, but freedom or individual destiny. Nikita herself flourishes at Section, and is redeemed from a meaningless life on the streets..but is this redemption worth it? Does she lose herself or find herself? The moral contradictions alone are spellbinding. I recommend following director Joel Surnow's work for similar treatment of new series.

BEST SHOW EVER MADE!!!!

I haven't missed any episodes, i just love this show. Actors are great, chemistry between characters is amazing. Action is awesome, music is the greatest probably. I've also seen La Femme Nikita movie, and i loved it. Now they made show, which did not dissapoint original La femme nikita. Last episode was very emotional. Michael is my favorite character and he's very hot in that black suit, black sunglasses and just the way he acts. Does anyone knows if there is soundtrack available??

10 out of 10!!

"La Femme Nikita" is simply the best TV show of its kind ever made!! THE BEST!!

Every aspect of it is close to perfection. There are some matters that could have been better, but that is only due to the low budget of the show.

It is very rare for a movie or a TV show to gain a lot of its success because of its music style (not just the original score) but LFN nails it to the wall!! It has by far the best music selections that blend perfectly with the plot and the characters!! Much respect to the musical director of the show!!

The acting is amazing from all the main cast. Everyone manages to deliver their character's goods extremely well! Allow me to speak individually for Mrs Peta Wilson.... EXCELLENT actress! As beautiful, sexy and breathtaking as she is, so are her acting skills. In fact if she wasn't such GOOD an actress the show would have never been so successful. Maybe what I am about to say is a bit over the top, but the way I see it Mrs Wilson is a better looking version of Mrs Jodi Foster.

Just watch LFN and you will understand why it is SO GOOD!!
