The group is forced to separate in the latest episode of The Walking Dead prequel, Fear The Walking Dead...
This review contains spoilers.
2.7 Shiva
One of the things The Walking Dead does every season is scatter the survivors to the four winds for mid-season finales, then they bring them back together over the course of the next half of the season. Taking a page from Hershel's farm once again, Fear The Walking Dead ends the episode with the cast scattered around the Mexican countryside. On one side, there are zombies. On the other side, angry workers looking to get revenge for their dead relatives. In the middle, as always, Victor Strand and his allies, who find themselves on the outs after wreaking a little havoc in the supposed safe zone.
The cracks appeared almost immediately. After all, Celia worked pretty hard at extracting Nick, the most vulnerable one of the group,...

Fear The Walking Dead revisits a plot familiar from its parent show in its latest episode, but handles it even better...
This review contains spoilers.
2.6 Sicut Cervus
One of the problems that Fear The Walking Dead is going to face is that it's several seasons behind the parent show. That gives the spinoff a little more breathing room to include some luxuries, like television and electricity/water, but it also means that it is going to have to work harder not to accidentally recycle plot lines form the original series. Or, in some cases, they can recycle the plot but do it better than in the original series.
The second season of The Walking Dead is the farm season. The gang spent a whole season just hanging out on Hershel's farm while looking for Sophia. Well, in case you've forgotten, Sophia was there on the farm with them,...

The crew of the Abigail try a risky play this week, but they can't seem to stop screwing up...
This review contains spoilers
2.5: Captive
The boaters on board the Abigail are increasingly facing tough decisions. They're trying to hold onto old-world values, but they're increasingly running into post-apocalyptic problems. An injured man isn't just an injured man anymore; he's now a liability, a ticking zombie time-bomb. Two episodes ago, Strand disposed of the ticking time bomb that was Alex (whose name has changed from Charlie during her first appearance, apparently) by cutting her loose, quite literally. As it turns out, turning your back on those in need can either save you or end you, and turning your back on family is just not something to even be considered. When you have someone who you trust to watch your back, you stick with them like glue, even...

With more episodes in its second season, Fear The Walking Dead has the time to slow down and let plot developments breathe...
This review contains spoilers.
2.4 Blood In The Streets
With an expanded second season, Fear The Walking Dead seems to be able to let things breathe a little more than we got in the first season. The beginning felt kind of rapid fire, things happening one after the other after the other until we end up in a burning mansion on the California coast with a mysterious guy in a suit and his $10 million dollar boat. It made for interesting television, and it kept things moving reasonably well, even if they didn't linger enough on the things I wanted to see for reasons of time or budget.
However, the second season seems to be taking a different pace. It wasn't all that long ago that Alicia...

Fear The Walking Dead intersects with its Flight 462 webisode in its latest instalment, Ouroboros...
This review contains spoilers.
2.3 Ouroboros
The Walking Dead was one of the shows at the forefront of the second screen experience. I think they had the first app designed for people to poke around on while watching a show. I can't remember for sure, so that might not be true, but it's definitely one of the first I used and it remains one of the more noteworthy examples of the attempt by television to integrate phones and tablets into the viewing experience. Fittingly, The Walking Dead also has a strong presence in online video, with multiple Walking Dead websiodes. However, while you've seen characters from the original series expanded upon in the webisodes (Bicycle Girl from the first season), there hasn't been any cross-over in the other direction.

We all fall down on opportunity and responsibility. It's only human nature — and we're lucky if we can change or fix the outcome. When it comes to Prince, I was able to get a second chance on one of those moments. On this incredibly sad Thursday, allow me two personal (and amazing, at least for me) memories of the artist. It always felt lucky, and many times magical, to see Prince. He was a wholly original and special talent and, of course, losing him will have people flooded with memories and more than a few regrets for not seeing

This week's Fear The Walking Dead is a melancholy scenario reminding its characters that nothing, nowhere and no-one is safe...
This review contains spoilers.
2.2 We All Fall Down
Fear The Walking Dead is a familiar format to anyone who has seen the original series. A group of survivors go from place to place looking for somewhere to settle down for a little bit, avoiding dangers both undead and living in the process. However, where The Walking Dead dropped us right into the post-apocalypse, Fear The Walking Dead is taking things from a different perspective. We're not coming across groups of hardened survivors, we're dealing with people who may or may not be waiting for the military to come sweeping in with tanks and guns to wipe the rotters off the face of the earth and put humanity back on top of the food chain.

Signs of life aren't necessarily a good thing on Fear the Walking Dead. In this episode, "We All Fall Down," Strand docks at a wildlife refuge island to get away from a ship that's been tracking them. While the inhabitants of the island are friendly and safe, Madison and her family find something off about their new friends. Meanwhile, Daniel does some snooping to figure out what Strand is up to.

AMC has renewed Fear The Walking Dead and aftershow Talking Dead: Fear, for third seasons. Here are all the details...
It looks like Fear The Walking Dead, which has only just premiered its second season, will live to sail another day!
AMC has renewed the series for a third season. Fear The Walking Dead season 3 will consist of sixteen episodes to premiere sometime in 2017. AMC's live aftershow, Talking Dead: Fear, has also been renewed for another season.
"What Dave Erickson and Robert Kirkman have invented in Fear The Walking Dead is to be applauded. Watching Los Angeles crumble through the eyes of our characters and seeing each make decisions and try to figure out the rules of their new world – it’s fresh, eerie and compelling and we’re all in for the ride,” said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios.

It should come as no surprise to anyone with even an elementary understanding of electronic music that mixing A-Trak with Disclosure will yield inspiring results.
The former artist recently released a remix of the latter’s “Magnets” that gives it an upbeat future house sensibility. Largely driven by a filtered, pitch-shifted sample of Lorde’s vocal track from the original song, A-Trak’s remix also incorporates the rubbery organ bass line characteristic of future house into its arrangement.
The result is a more club-friendly rendition of the song from the Surrey, England duo’s sophomore album, Caracal, that still retains much of its compelling ambience.
Meanwhile, A-Trak hosted a remix contest for his own original, “We All Fall Down.” While the contest appears to have taken the form of a talent discovery platform more than a collection of remixes from already well-known artists, if it turns out any compelling material...

As promised, Zane Lowe has premiered the new single from A-Trak, and it’s now available on Apple Music.
A bit of a departure for the DJ, the pop-y house tune boasts a catchy and uplifting melody along with soulful vocals from UK artist Jamie Lidell, combining for an extremely enjoyable release that should definitely see a fair bit of play in both clubs and on the radio.
It’s got an infectious rhythm with a lot of soul, and those 90’s house elements certainly make it easy to move to. All in all, it’s another excellent song from the DJ and we’re definitely looking forward to seeing what he brings us next.
“We All Fall Down” will be released on Oct. 2 via A-Trak‘s Fools Gold Records. In the meantime, give it a listen below and let us know what you think.

Goners is one of the best current horror comics on the stands and is a unique twist on the genre with young protagonists that actually talk like frightened kids and a huge bestiary of monsters drawn from folklore and world mythology. The comics features a mystery plot with twists and turns and some nifty world-building featuring demons, monsters, and the Latimer family. Most of the time on a soapy show like "90210," a bomb explosion would lead to break-ups, fear and even death. But this is the show's series finale. After five seasons of heartbreak and drama, the kids were due for some happy endings in "We All Fall Down."
And that's what they get.
The "90210" finale picks up right where the previous episode left off. Whatever that explosion was that took down the theater, there are injuries and a lot of damage.
Everyone quickly descends upon the disaster site in order to do his or her thing. Liam (Matt Lanter), looking for a way to not go to Australia, rushes over. Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) takes a little longer (needing to spin her "wild night with the Prince"), but then she promptly turns the whole thing into a way to benefit herself.
And then there's Navid (Michael Steger) -- slightly injured himself, Navid...

This week we said goodbye to one of television's favorite zip codes. After an hour retrospective with the cast and crew of 90210, it was time for the series finale, "We All Fall Down."
Picking up right after last week's crazy cliffhanger, we dove right into the aftermath of the explosion at the theater.
Since Adrianna was finishing her act as the stage started shaking, she ended up trapped in the rubble. With relief efforts accounting for everyone else, Navid ran back in and scrambled under a very shaky infrastructure to rescue the love of his life. As they awaited help (and somehow had cell service) they talked about how to proceed when they finally got rescued. At first Adrianna wanted to take it slow, get it right... but after a gas leak that endangered their lives even further, they decided that this was it. They were all in. Navianna forever!

90210 season 6 never happening,it's officially over forever. Hey, fellow 90210 peeps. We just wanted to make sure that the fans out there that are still unaware that 90210 has been canceled, are in the know. That's right. It went down back in February 2013 ,according to TV Line. CW decided to pull the plug on your beloved show due to some very poor ratings,so when the finale episode 22 airs tonight, I would suggest you savor every moment of it. Apparently, the ratings for 90210 had slipped from 1 million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating in its season 5 premiere to under 600,000 viewers and a 0.3 by the time the CW decided to get rid of it. Again, the 90210 season 5 series finale episode airs tonight,May 13th at 8pm central time on the CW. It's titled, "We All Fall Down," and indeed, it did fall,so that's sort of ironic. Actually, I thought it was a great show,...

TV finale season is in full swing this week, with endings served up on Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Vampire Diaries, among others. But the most important entertainment event is arguably the box office bow of a new Star Trek movie — especially when the newest one is called Star Trek Into Darkness and comes studio-sealed in secrecy and trench coats in the form of Benedict Cumberbatch’s deep-voiced baddie.
That and oh-so-much more for the week ahead, below.

James Marsters guest stars in this week's returning episode of Warehouse 13, but is he playing the new villain? Here's Jenni's review...
This review contains spoilers.
4.11 The Living and the Dead
Here we are, back for the second half of Warehouse 13's fourth season. This episode brings a tidy ending to the mid-season finale, gives us some real emotional punches as the team and Artie work through Leena’s death, and sets up a new bad guy and gal for this half, although who will pose the biggest threat remains a mystery. We see many of the common storytelling elements in this episode, it begins with the whole team together, but shortly thereafter, they split off into two teams to solve both conflicts separately. Jinx and Claudia go to save Artie from his self-imposed coma, and Pete, Myka and Mrs. Frederic look for...

Correction: We all fall down, except Frank Underwood, who will be the only human keeping the cockroaches company after the apocalypse. And those cockroaches will quickly learn to do his bidding, or else.
Chapter 8 of House of Cards ends with Frank apparently foiled, while Chapter 9 pushes things even further when Frank’s nearest and dearest begin to rebel against him — though like a barbecue-loving cat, Rep. Underwood obviously ends up landing on his feet. We’ll see if he can keep that perch in season 1′s last three episodes, which may or may not feature the death of a major character.

Part of the Tony Scott: A Moving Target critical project. Go here for the project's description, index and links to project's other movement.
This is one "movement" of our exquisite corpse-style critical project, Tony Scott: A Moving Target, which coincidentally begins with a look at Crimson Tide, the same movie that begins the other movement. As outlined in the introduction to the entire project, this project began in my mind, as something fairly simple: a snaking continuum of scene analysis. This is only in part what resulted.
The varied responses I got back from my group—"mine" in the sense that it is the one I participated in, since Gina's contribution closes Movement B—seem to say as much about the participating critics as they do about Tony Scott's films and the overlap between the two: the perception of Scott's films and career. Thus many entries, including my own,...

This article is part of the critical project Tony Scott: A Moving Target in which an analysis of a scene from a Tony Scott film is passed anonymously to the next participant in the project to respond to with an analysis of his or her own.
<- the previous analysis | movement index | the next analysis ->
Fire, explosions and flares always play their own choreographic role in Tony Scott’s films. A machine gun roars, belching fire, and Scott’s trademark editing obeys the winking of these gunfire flashes. In the breathtaking finale of Domino—perhaps the director’s most personal and definitely most fragile film—the characters go as high as possible: to the 106th floor of a Las Vegas tower, in pursuit of an explosion. As there they are greeted by the mafia: Welcome to the Top of the World.
Why go so high? Domino is devoted to the slightly naïve belief in the invisible hands of fortune,...

Cataclysmically.
Everything is once again up in the air, and we’re now left wondering about the fate of the world.
As it turns out, Artie’s premonitions of his future were correct. Claudia did end up stabbing him, but context is everything, and Claudia’s love for Artie transcends it all. Claudia willingly decided to use the dagger that penetrates everything on Artie because she believes he’s still in there somewhere as long as she can get past his evil incarnation. In other words, she's casting him out.
Even if Claudia’s idea is correct, there’s still no way to reverse Artie’s path of destruction. Leena is still dead and a terrible plague has been unleashed upon the world.
The plague is the event that interests me the most out of everything that happened on "We All Fall Down" because, until now, Warehouse events have been largely self-contained.

We’ve seen it and we’re telling you: Warehouse 13 fans, it’s a big episode tonight. Since Season 4 is a longer season – 20 episodes instead of the usual 12 – the season is split in half, with the first half concluding tonight, and the second half premiering in Spring 2013.
Given what happened at the end of last week’s episode, it should come as no surprise that there is little humor this week, but after that we’ll say no more, other than to tell you that it is definitely an important episode that you need to watch before someone spoils you. It will not be us. We’ll just show you this TV spot, which is the same thing they showed at the end of last week’s episode:

*full disclosure: a screener of this film was provided by Osiris Entertainment.
Director: Elias Matar.
Writers: Edward E. Romero, and Elias Matar.
Cast: Enrique Almeida, Joel Bryant and Chris Trouble Delfosse.
When the subtitle of the movie poster of Ashes simply says, “We All Fall Down,” the connection this film is making with the classic nursery rhyme, “Ring a Ring o’ Roses,” is almost appropriate. Ashes is just a variation of “atishoo,” an onomatopoeia for a sneezing sound.
Had this film actually made more of a fuller emphasis with the verse, more people would be making the same leap of faith that director/writer Elias Matar has made—he believes the poem is about the bubonic plague.
But with this movie, the necrosis that develops is far worse. It numbs the nerves and dulls the brain. Eventually, all these patients are going to become zombies. But that is not what this film is about.

No ghosts? No dream sequences? What kind of episode of One Tree Hill was this? Overall, "We All Fall Down" was a step in the right direction. Boring at times, but at least I didn't want to hit myself over the head with a frying pan while watching.
There was no Jamie this week, so I can't continue to praise my favorite character dynamic (Jamie and Julian). I wish I could say that two of my favorite characters, Alex and Chase, slid easily into that spot of most entertaining story... but they were just annoying.
Sure, Alex being cute and cheesy one minute, and then flipping the switch to her sweet and serious side was nice, but the whole golfing expedition was a bit too heavy on the cheese. Then again, the outfit she was wearing more than made up for any problems I had with the two of them this week.

On tonight's episode of One Tree Hill entitled "We All Fall Down," Nathan struggled with whether to continue basketball, Quinn left the hospital while Clay stayed, Haley set out to help those in need through working at a crisis center, and Brooke tried to maintain what little dignity she had left.
Throughout the show I learned many things about topics such as music, life and Tree Hill's sanitation.

Fango caught up with writer/director Jake (Days Of Darkness) Kennedy, who tipped us off to the new non-work-safe trailer (which you can seen below) for his horror flick Penance. Previously titled The Devil’S Dungeon, produced by Will (Automaton Transfusion) Clevinger and filmed last year in Los Angeles, Penance stars Jeepers Creepers 2’s Marieh Delfino (pictured) as a stripper who falls into the hands of sadistic surgeon (Graham McTavish) with genital mutilation on his mind.
“The title changed from The Devil’S Dungeon to Penance since we believe it has far exceeded our own quality standards in terms of cast, performance and look,” Kennedy tells Fango. “So we wanted to steer away from a B-movie-esque moniker and more toward a cooler, more representative name. Penance means ‘the repentance of one’s sins,’ and that’s exactly what our bad guy is trying to do—and what he’s...
