I first saw this wonderful little short at the SF Int'l. Film Festival in 1997. It's BRILLIANTLY staged! The Rube Goldberg Device from HELL! Though some purists might find it too "stagey," it's climax could only happen on film! And it is the nearly miraculous timing of this climax which left me gasping over the previous 6 minutes!
I hope to get to see this again sometime, somewhere! Thank you Wajnberg!! Jay

I'm not sure why this movie is so hard to find and has taken so long to be released. I laughed hysterically. Thankyou to the person who found it on the French google! I saw this on a public channel 3 years ago in California and have been obsessing about it ever since.
If the maker of the movie reads this. Please! Please make it available for purchase on DVD. Please!
The concept is simple but the execution is flawless. Its the kind of movie that we don't see enough of. This kind of movie does not need computer graphic trickery, it just works so well.
Intelligently executed, brilliant in its simplicity.

If you've ever had a hard time waking up you'll really appreciate this film. I've never seen anyone avoid waking up better than Jean-Claude in this short.
I have to say, as a non-french speaking American, it was incredibly difficult to find this video.
Here's how to do it: Navigate to the french version of Google Videos, search for: Le Reveil de Jean-Claude Dreyfus.
The quality of the dubbing isn't the best, but the film makes up for the bad capture.
Enjoy!

I first saw this circa 2001 on television of all places and HAVE NOT seen it since. It was aired on a Sci-Fi Channel show the name of which I cannot remember. The show itself was quite entertaining as it was based around airing short clips of a 'strange' nature, many of which were first shown at foreign film festivals.
Please, PLEASE! If anyone knows where to find this wonderful, wonderful piece of art on the internet, or how to find a physical copy, your assistance would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thank you so much, and if you haven't gotten to see this film, do as I am and try your damndest to find it!

Incredibly funny. Perfect timing. I saw it in Karlovy Vary Film Festival, Czech Republic, in 1996 or 1997.
I still remember the sequence of events. I have been addicted to coffee ever since this film.
I'd love a copy of this film.
Incredible.
How the hell did they rig the house like that? Not CGI? Amazing!
I wonder what the producers and directors are doing now?
Brilliant, exceptional, superb work.
PS: If the makers see this. I'd love them to contact me. There should be a reshowing of it somewhere in the world. Australia!

It's been 20 years, and I still remember this incredible short film. I saw it at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival (their first one, I think) in the Czech Republic.
5 min of pure bliss. Exceptionally produced, shot, created. I love this film. Unforgettable!
Jean-Claude Dreyfus' execution is astonishing to watch! I wonder what the director has done since? Well done! Thanks for the memory!
