Kevin Bacon has been in a good number of horror films over the decades, and he has admitted that he’s drawn to working in the genre because he’s a horror fan himself. Now it has been revealed that he and his wife Kyra Sedgwick are such big fans of the genre that they’re planning to co-direct and star in a horror film – and they’ve cast their daughter Sosie Bacon, who starred in the horror hit Smile, as a co-star!
Variety caught up with Sedgwick to interview her about her role in the Off Broadway play All of Me, and along the way they mentioned that she’s currently developing “a horror film she would star in with Bacon and their adult daughter, Sosie. The couple wants to co-direct the film, though the Directors Guild has other ideas.“
Sedgwick told them, “It’s very hard to get dual directing credit.

Helen Mirren‘s new HBO miniseries “Catherine the Great” finally premiered on Oct. 21 and it could help her rule one category at the Golden Globes: Best Limited Series/TV Movie Actress.
Mirren is currently in a three-way tie for the most wins — two — with Ann-Margret and Judy Davis. A seven-time nominee in the category, Mirren prevailed for “Losing Chase” in 1997 and “Elizabeth I” in 2007. The latter win was one of two that night for Mirren, who also won for her turn in “The Queen” on the film side en route to her Best Actress Oscar. She is one of four actors to have won two Globes in one night.

Exclusive: The Closer star/executive producer Kyra Sedgwick is back at TNT with another female-centered procedural drama project, this time strictly behind the camera. The cable network has given a pilot order to Proof, a supernatural medical drama executive produced by Sedgwick. Additionally, TNT has greenlighted a legal drama pilot co-written by Marcia Clark, the lead prosecutor in the O.J. Simpson trial, and Nashville showrunner Dee Johnson. Written by Rob Bragin (Greek), Proof centers on a skeptical, hard science, female surgeon who’s struggled with family issues including a tragic death. She is persuaded to investigate cases of reincarnation, out-of-body experiences, hauntings — all of it looking for verifiable proof, to try to answer one of life’s greatest questions: Is death truly the end, or is there something … beyond?. Bragin and Sedgwick executive produce with her manager Jill Littman and producer Tom Jacobson (Ladykillers). There are no plans for Sedgwick to star.

Kyra Sedgwick took to "Watch What Happens Live," and of course Andy Cohen was able to probe her for gossip. "Who do you think watches porn the most," Cohen asked, "Helen Mirren or Helen Hunt?" "Helen Mirren, for sure!" Sedgwick said. "We talked about it."
Actually, we can totally see it. Despite denying it, Mirren has always been a sex symbol. And do you remember that time she posed topless for New York magazine?
Sedgwick co-starred with Mirren in the 1996 Showtime movie "Losing Chase," by the way. We don't quite remember that, but we're glad porn came up.

Helen Mirren is the kind of woman who invites fantasy.
She is so regal and classy, yet she doesn’t have a moment’s hesitation about shedding her clothes for a role. And you never quite know what she might say, which makes for very entertaining interviews.
For the March issue of The Advocate, the-woman-who-has-been-Queen talked about her relationship with Lgbt fans — especially lesbians. Here are some highlights.
On why Jane Tennison, the detective Mirren played in Prime Suspect, has become a lesbian icon:
Well, the character wasn’t a lesbian, but Jackie Malton, the person she was based on, was a lesbian. She used to say that she came out as a gay woman very early on in her police career because she didn’t want anyone to think that she’d f----d her way to the top. So she was quite a character herself, and it’s interesting...
